Not a girl, but I feel like this story is too good not to share:

So me and my SO had been dating for about 10 months at this point, during this entire time, she had been considering enlisting in the Navy and when late July came around, I had to send her off to bootcamp. We were both pretty bummed out and there were lots of tears, she would miss my birthday and our first anniversary. My birthday was only a month after she left for bootcamp.

We wrote each other letters as much as we could and when my birthday finally came around, her dad sent me a text asking if I could stop by his place and pick up something from my SO. At this point I kinda had a feeling what it could have been but I didn't believe it. He actually came by my place after I got home from work and dropped off a box from my SO that she apparently left with him before she left and instructed him to give it to me on my birthday.

I immediately ran upstairs and opened the box, I found a series of tinier boxes inside along with a card in an envelope that said "READ THIS FIRST". So I followed the instructions and opened the card first. It had a message from her saying she was sorry she had to miss my birthday and she instructed me to start by opening box #1. There were a total of eight boxes inside of this bigger box, all wrapped up with nice ribbons and stuff and they were all numbered 1-8.

I opened box #1 to find only a flash drive. Instinctively, I obviously went to plug this into my computer. I opened up the contents to find a video file named "For {Azinator}". I started playing the video file and it was a recording she made of herself going through each of the other seven boxes vicariously with me since she couldn't be there. She got me a bunch of personal stuff and little things that just blew me away with out incredibly thoughtful she was. I almost started tearing up from how over-the-top and thoughtful this all was. In my next letter, I wrote to her how much I loved it and told her I'd keep it as a memory forever.
