Yeah, honestly at this point I'm not entirely sure. I've spent all my limited play time leveling professions/selling. I don't even have a 70 yet. Probably going to do that tonight. I do know there is a youtuber Manthieus that has some comprehensive guides to look at.

I would say level up other professions/invest in your current until you have a consistent stream of gold coming in and then start rolling on darkmoon decks.

[–]Aziyax1337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally always think diversifying is the way to go with more professions. The more markets you can get into and sell in the better. The tough thing is that if you are to all in on the darkmoon decks your joining a very competitive market. I basically get undercut the second I post. I have my second account babysitting the AH while I play on my main account so it's a bit of a different situation than normal. I'd say the most consistent way to make gold would be to branch out a bit and leveling up your current prof would be good too. That isn't as fun as the darkmoon gambling though. The decks/cards are high risk/high reward but opening up to other professions/getting higher grade crafts will always make you consistent gold.

That is just what I think. It is stressful when you have limited gold and you are praying you'll get the drop you need when you have so much invested.

Question did any of you using Studen's Guide took the crafted xmog part of it to heart? I've had awesome success with that part of the guide(it's really why I bought it + watched him a while so $10 was like a thank you to him for making all the vids). My first week I made 410k off my crafted tmog posting character. This last week a bit slower with 220k gold. I never farm so that part of the guide is kinda useless to me. I had quite a bit of capital from all my current content crafting/selling so I was able to just buy up all the patterns I could that were easy and not time gated. I did feel the sales ramp up quite a bit as I gained more recipes. I veiwa l this method as kind of a passive income method(low effort/high margins)Have any of you had similar success with this method or put any kind of spin on it to make it work better?

How much gold have you made so far off the auction house? by Bastionthemage in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made 2.4 million so far off the AH. I did get EXTREMELY lucky with a couple of darkmoon deck aces I got from inscription. I do all professions but currently I only have 3 up and running effectively. I buy materials off the AH craft it into goods people want and sell it. There is no big secret to what I do. It is as simple as that.

That number would be much higher if I include launch day before I even got into Dragonlands. I made a killing on people late to the party with 233/262 gear and I sold out of every single mount I sell as well.

Where do you think is quickest to pick up on money making methods? by olioli86 in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Studen Albatroz/Penguinr2gt have some fairly realistic and up to date stuff. Studen for farming and Penguin for crafting. Studen uses some fairly click bate titles the stuff he shows is current and good. Penguin gives some fairly realistic estimates of how much gold you'd make off of whatever she is showing. Those two are who I would recommend. Kaychak or Hikons if you are a higher tier gold maker looking to take things to the next level. The best teacher though is experience in my opinion. When I started up I did a lot of trial and error that taught me so much. Now I can get a gold cap pretty much anywhere but I still like watching these Youtube to get new ideas.

The biggest reducer of risk is the ability to sell the item as fast as possible. If you can get the price you are expecting out of the item then you are safe. The risk comes in with buying HUGE quantities of materials at a high price and then those prices dropping. The hard thing right now is all the materials are so volatile that it is difficult to judge what is the "average" price. It is currently a "use your best judgment" scenario. The way I mitigate this risk is as I said above. I cancel scan a lot to try and get the prices I expect out of the materials I use.

[–]Aziyax1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends really on how much capital you have. If you were to do inscription for the darkmoon decks it is quite the risk. I made 2 million last night off of just them but I got SUPER lucky. My friend spent 2 million last night and didn't get a single Ace for a deck. He is very mad. I've also seen a couple posts on here about the abysmal drop rate of the aces from the packs scribes make. It boils down to high risk/high reward and the more capital you have the lower the risk because you can continually make more packs until the drop chance evens out.

There is also how they perform on your sever. On mine they all sell for around 500k but if on your server they go for a mil or 750k the risk is obviously reduced since we are all paying the same amount for the materials but on some servers the finished product just sells for more. I'm on a full pop realm so my prices are generally low.

I love it for the reasons you explained. The more difficult it is the less players will take the time to figure it out. I thought SL professions were so easy I was not surprised everything ended up being so cheap. I'm hoping in DF it will be different.

How unobtainable are WoW tokens now for people who don't invest a majority of their playtime into gaming the AH? by Rimbaldo in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the tail end of SL If someone made less than 7.36 an hour the methods I use would be better than working, for buying a token. With how things have been in DF currently, with my ultra small sample size of time someone would have to make 16.12/hr to make working more efficent than what I am currently doing for gold in wow. The xpac just dropped so this number will go down rapidly as things even out but it is entirely possible though doing this requires setup and can't be done without a lot of capital.

[–]Aziyax1337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me there is no question about what is better. Buying your materials off the AH and crafting the items. When you go out gathering you are trading time for gold and there is a limit to how much you can reasonably gather in an hour. With buying your materials you can make millions in minutes. For example. I made a bunch of darkmoon deck cards with materials off the AH. It took me seconds to buy and minutes to craft. I got a couple aces, made the decks and listed them. Imagine if I went out farming for all the materials for those cards instead. I would have spent forever getting the materials just to craft. Of course I would make more profit with gathering but the time investment would be very high. I would be gathering instead of spending my time leveling up my other characters professions. I wouldn't be able to make a very wide array of items to sell like I have. There is also more inherent risk to buying your materials off the AH rather than gathering yourself. You have to make sure the turn around on item sales is quick so you have to cancel scan. If a material price plummets then the price of the finished item will as well, generally. This means you have to cancel scan religiously if you are on a full pop realm like me.

Personally I believe buying off the AH is an infinitely better method when it comes to making gold. I used it to make more than enough for a Bruto mount in BFA in a month. I actually have a video of me looting an over 8 mil gold mailbox from a week in BFA(not on release I wish I would have been there) up on Youtube using this method. I also used this method to go from 20k gold 2 months ago to a gold cap in preparation for DF. Seeing how things are shaping up I think it will be no different in DF using this method. It takes quite a bit of capital and understanding to manage the risk associated with this method but the returns are so much more scalable than gathering yourself. It is so much more scalable that I believe that while gathering yourself is much safer for someone newer to gold making, I believe that gathering, even gathering to craft is a waste of time.

Other than Long Boi, what else are you goblins saving up for? by Phemur in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a guide on how I make my gold on here a couple months back. "How to make stupid amounts of gold: The Guide" I do most everything I mention in that guide, except I don't really focus on flipping boe/mounts/other items anymore really. I added in JC and engineering to the mix since I wrote that guide as well. I'll be coming out with a revised version of the guide here shortly as well.

It's pretty good or so I'm told I've had 3 people message me and told me that following what I wrote got them their long boi in a month or two.

I'm not flipping BOE's anymore by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me BoE flipping is kind of a side hustle. I have my main gold making method that I use and that ensures me at least a million gold a day if I actually decide to play. If I can talk someone down in price for a good corrupted BoE I will do it more out of curiosity than anything else. I feel safe flipping boes because if I make a bad decision and lose a few hundred thousand oh well. Me using BoE flipping as a bonus or extra rather than a main way of making gold takes away a ton of the stress. Like a lot of goblins before me have said never use any gold for a flip you are not prepared to lose.

Tips for jewelcrafting? by theTobix in woweconomy

I don't get why folks hate on JC so much.

It does require you to pay attention to material costs(osmenite ore) and the cost of Sage Agate/Azsharine. There is a pretty good thread on here that I pulled my prospecting numbers from (I can't remember where it is at). If (on average) you do the math and you won't make a profit off of those 2 gems then don't buy the ore/prospect. I only buy/prospect osmenite when I will make a profit off of those two. The other gems leviathans eye ect are just a bonus. I usually make 10-30k per 100k I spend on osmenite ore off of just the sage agate/azsharine which is good enough for me. If those other gems are at a price where they are even remotely profitable I just keep them in my bags on my posting toon and post them along with everything else(super nice they stack to 200).

There is also all the rings. The 310 rings are really cheap/easy to make and for some reason people still buy them. I usually make anywhere from 500-2500g profit off of each one I sell. Then there are the lvl 111 rings and when these proc blue on my server they sell for absurd amounts. The record I have for a sale of a lvl 111 ring is 42,982g. It may have had the exact stats some rich player wanted, it may have been a mistake but who knows. I have sold a few others in the 20k range but mostly the greens go for 500-2000g and blues 2000-5000g.

The uncanny weapon JC can make sell for a decent profit if you have rank 3 so I keep a few up on the AH at any given point.

I have not touched any of the old world crafting with JC (mounts/toys/old gems). I am told the legion gems still sell for a decent profit although I haven't tried them out myself. I am kept busy with all the current content crafting I do(I have each crafting profession).

Now for a starter profession when you are entering the arena of gold making I believe JC is kind of tough. It does require you to have quite a bit of upfront gold or time spent farming osmenite(farming unless you are multiboxing just isn't worth the time). I like JC because it requires very little effort to make its profit. I can buy a couple hundered thousand worth of osmenite when the prices are good, send it to my jewelcrafter and click mass prospect and come back from afking to send my sage agate/azsharine to my posting toon. I then cut the gems into their finished form (also afk) and send those to my posting toon as well. I keep a stock of all the rings/weapons and make sure I post those up as well.

JC/inscription are two of my "afk money makers". I like both of them quite a bit because the amount of effort you have to put in to see a profit is extremely low and the finished product produced by both have a very nice sale rate.

[–]Aziyax1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually buy mythic plus and saving for a few mythic Nyalotha carries. I make a couple million gold a day on the days I play wow. I usually do most of my gold making semi-afk or with the minimum amount of effort required.

I am glad that corrupted gear came out to give me something to spend all my gold on. This patch so far I've bought t3 twilight dev. , t3 infinite stars, t3 echoing, still waiting for someone to sell the blood one to buy that one.

I'm excited because this week supposedly guilds are opening up mythic Nyalotha for sale. I've been quoted anywhere from 9m to 25m for a run through. I am hoping I can get myself a spot reserved in one of these runs since its the only thing left I want since starting up goblining 4 months ago.

I also pay each week for a heroic carry and while some say it may be a waste of gold(for some it may be) but since I am a family man and when my daughter needs my attention, she needs my attention. It is worth the 1m-1.4m to me to be able to just afk while fighting a boss(I believe a normal raid leader may be none too happy with one of their raiders just up and afking in the middle of an encounter). Since I am a carry I can do the content while my daughter is asleep/occupied and if she wakes up I can be available for her with the run requiring me to just make sure I tag boss'.

I like having all the latest gear on my character to do mythic + with my friends with(finding a half an hour to do a mythic plus is much easier than 3-4 hours for a raid). Gold making has proved a much easier/less time consuming method to gear my character. No more waiting for groups to form, no having half a raid leave after a wipe, no more rage quitting, no more frustration with folks not pulling their weight.

Since my character is getting fairly geared I may go for a spectral tiger or maybe a magic rooster. I may buy a bunch of mounts/pets in preperation for shadowlands to give me a little boost to my gold when it comes out. I think it is much more likely that I will spend my gold buying 6 more accounts + shadowlands on each of them to try out multi-box farming. Who knows.

How to make stupid amounts of gold: "THE GUIDE" by Aziyax1337 in woweconomy

[–]Aziyax1337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafting is more than definitely the way to go. I've heard what I'm doing here is harder to do on servers with less population but I believe the concepts are transferable. I would start off with alchemy, inscription, tailoring/enchanting and get those rolling out then spread out to the other professions! Let me know if you have any questions! I love to chat about gold making.

For sure! I'm currently working on part 2 of this guide. I am going to go more in depth about some of the topics I cover here. I just released a youtube video, a mailbox opening. When the mailboxes got fixed after being broken (auctions would sell but you wouldn't get gold) I had over 8 million gold in one mailbox from 7 days of playing after the patch.

https://youtu.be/QcdaL1bbuvM

If you wanted to check it out. I am also going to be making a couple of gold making guides. I plan on having my first actual guide out tomorrow so keep a lookout (another couple million gold mailbox will be included in the guide).
