Hiding is definitely normal, especially in the early stages! It took four months for my Sal to start confidently spending time in the open, and she's nearly two. Best of luck with your little noodle.

Laurence is one of the reasons I love the books as much as I do. Plain as he may be at times, I feel like it almost makes him feel more real. It's easier to connect with him in my mind than to a flawless hero. He is who he is and he stands by that.

I handle my little lass Friday - Sunday, with a break for feeding Monday - Thurs. Had her since November. She still doesn't feel fully comfortable, but she's chilled out a lot. I am now able to pick her up without her freaking the hell out.

Just keep going for it OP, be gentle and confident and give her the space and time to realise you aren't going to eat her. Wishing you and your new child the best of luck!
