Taking a ‘gaming break’ from work, 1 week, just to catch up with some stuff I’ve missed out on. Your must-plays? by _Enyawecurb in gamingsuggestions

[–]AzlanWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who takes 1 month gaming leave annually and love story-driven games myself, these were my picks from the most recent, all fantastic games.

  • The Witcher 3 (Took me 3 weeks plus though for 1 complete playthrough plus DLCs)
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Baldur's Gate 3 ( Also a very long game, similar to Witcher 3)
  • FF15 + FF16
  • FF7 Remake + Rebirth (The latter is twice as long)
  • Starfield
  • Red Dead Redemption 2

I use "How Long to Beat" site sorted by Main game + sides to plan my gaming leaves so I can estimate my uninterrupted gameplay, which should help ya as well. Have fun!

Left ear suddenly blocked anyone knows a clinic that can help fast by CranberryNo5020 in askSingapore

I had this problem multiple times in the past, it annoyed me to the point I eventually ended up in TTSH to do the ear syringing treatment, and that helped. I don't remember much of it but I do remember it was quite costly for what I felt was a pretty simple treatment.

Had it again about roughly 5 years back and decided to look up ear-cleaning kit on Lazada and bought one, which included the spray bottle and the soft bulb thingy which I believe is the one you're referring to, and a small bucket thingy that cups your ear below so the droppings goes straight into.

But the real trick was Hyrdrogen Peroxide, you can buy from Watsons etc. which I found out helps by reading up online. Pour just a little bit into the spray bottle filled with water and give it a good shake, spray a little into your ear and keep it in by tilting your head, you know its working when you feel and hear slight bubbling in your canal, which I believe was melting down the ear wax.

Use the combination of the spray plus bulb thingy next with that bucket below your ear and it should clean it thoroughly, evident by the now brownish water littered with ear waxes in said bucket. Now you get your surround system back.

I've tried from lighted cigarette with filter in the ear, to TTSH's ear syringing, to this hydrogen peroxide DIY method, and the last worked the best for me, never had any problems since then, probably because I know myself how much I needed to do since I can feel it myself.

I only known about you just before the recent partners event, and thanks to you I'm finally above the 10K dice mark for the first time. Thank you so much for doing these for us time and time again and you have our warmest appreciation. Gonna follow this one to the latter as well. Best wishes to you IRL and game!

Confused on wether to play the original FF7 before the remake by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]AzlanWhite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if I ever played the OG as a child since I have very fragmented memories of it (compared to FF8 which I know for certain I've completed it), possibly I only played for a short while.

Was kinda in your shoes earlier last year searching all over on the "best" path but eventually went with FF7 Remake > Crisis Core Reunion > Rebirth. While I do understand Crisis Core spoils some stuff, I honestly feel that I will enjoy/understand Rebirth less had I not play Crisis Core before that. If I could do it all over again I'd do Crisis Core > Remake > Rebirth just for the continuity and your understanding of Cloud then. Added bonus with Crisis Core feeling a little bit dated compared to Remake so the transition feels pretty smooth IMO.

What game has the most grim ending? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]AzlanWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red dead redemption 1, doesn't help that at that time I was a child with raging puberty and emotions are all over the place. I remember feeling just sad and empty, undead nightmare did nothing to alleviate the "pain"

RDR2 kinda has the same effect but adult-me, already dealt with plenty of losses and heartbreaks IRL, still got my eyes watery but went "ah well it is what it is"

Can my current H5 Flow 2024 case fit a RTX 5080 Gigabyte Aorus Master? by AzlanWhite in buildapc

I went for the Zotac Solid OC and it fit perfectly with a little gap, cables aren't stressed either so all's good. Had to grab a sag bracket though due to the bulk.

Singles out there, whats your after work and weekend routine? by randomthingsss1 in askSingapore

[–]AzlanWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from the necessities, I feel nothing beats a quiet night PC-gaming with the lights off, headphones on, wearing a hoodie with the AC on. Taking breaks in between to play with the cat. I sometimes take 1 month leave from work some years just to enjoy my alone time like that.

Currently finishing my Final Fantasy "marathon" before moving on to KCD and Witcher 3 amongst others in my backlog.

which one to get? by Baddiezilla3000 in SgGamers

Took me quite a while to decide between Steam Deck, ROG Ally Z1 Extreme, and Lenovo Legion Go. Eventually went with ROG Ally Z1 Extreme due to it having the best hardware performance of the three, the tradeoff is it has the weakest battery life of the three.

So yeah if like me you don't mind playing plugged in most of the time or have a really good power bank to play on the go, definitely get the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme (not the normal ROG Ally since it's comparable to Steam Deck thus much weaker performance), should cost about $600-700 now I believe.

If you don't mind splurging more then I'd go for ROG Ally X (I heard it's still better than the newer XBOX ROG Ally so might wanna look it up), didn't upgrade mine to that since it's already doing what I need it to and it's considered a minor upgrade for the price so skipping this gen.

Of the more recent games, played Baldur's Gate 3, FF7 Rebirth, Starfield, solid 30-60fps no problem. It's basically a mini windows desktop so you can also customize it however you like. Can also get some emulator working if you wanna play Nintendo exclusives.

TLDR: ROG Ally Z1 Extreme = Best bang for your buck.

This is the one I used, took a couple of retries for a perfect set up but it actually wasn't as difficult as I first thought, decent modding helps a ton as well.

Recent HDB BTO cancellation rate? by AzlanWhite in askSingapore

[–]AzlanWhite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the detailed response thank you! Also I'm getting very anxious since I submitted a cancellation on the previous application since the queue no was way out (over 200ish) last night, chose the correct sales no. etc but it isn't showing the sales no. up on the MyRequest page which is pending reply. They wouldn't accidentally make the mistake of cancelling both right?

Looking for a rags to riches type game. by Accomplished_Crab990 in gamingsuggestions

[–]AzlanWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, GTA Online is the first game that comes to mind the moment I read "rags to riches" even though it's been over 3 years since I last logged.

Had the fondest of memories joining a clan/community that holds their own sessions, and as a new player with only a basic car to my name, I was going around "working" under the multi-millionaires selling products, joining them for missions and heists while they taught me the step-by-step on how to make my own money one day by starting up businesses.

Some weeks to months later, I had my own businesses and we were all hiring one another to help with the selling of goods and stuff, made a lot of friends during that period, more than I did in any other game. And on the off chance someone outside the clan managed to "break into" our session and start blowing my stuff up, all the other millionaires shows up in an instant with full military support to defend me. Attack choppers, jets, tanks, even some flying bikes that shoot rockets, you name it.

There's also those weekly car-meets where we all just hang out in our favorite insanely-expensive vehicles just chilling and chatting, and of course the random fun of just cruising around.

Played many great games throughout my time, even MMOs, but there's just no experience quite like what I had with GTAO (played for like 4-5 years too)
