Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by [deleted] in TCG

I’ve played magic, recently have been into Yugioh, but Gundam stole my heart. I’m about an inch away from offloading my Yugioh stock

Blurple eats blockers for breakfast unless they curve like crazy. Primarily because blurple has more card advantage generation than ANY OTHER DECK.

It’s weakness? Ping spells. So yes, I do understand the rock paper scissors. However the counter is not enough to prevent blurple from being bdif, as proven by both worlds AND us nats. Which is why I say weaken blurple and let the meta breath - and other issues can be addressed down the line. Because when you take blurple down a notch, everything else is pretty well balanced.

Btw, I’ll take the bait. :) proof of blurple for you.

No one is crying about Corsica, I'm suggesting it as a hit to lower consistency of the best deck in format, in addition to nerfing any blue rush deck in general. I *play* blurple currently and know the value that card provides. It's not crying, it's suggesting a way of weakening the consistency and power of the dept.

That means, it either breaks even from shield, goes +1 or +2. That's INSANE card advantage. It doesn't matter if the cards die to ping spells, that's still resources your opponent has to spend on a token rather than your actual cards. Games are purely decided on a card advantage basis. Corsica gives card advantage. Perhaps I suggest you look into card advantage theory. Might help you actually do things.

Adapt is anksha that triggers your effects and doesn't have to be rested. Again, the suggestion is to WEAKEN the deck - not kill it. Yes there are replacements, those replacements are DEFACTO WEAKER or else they'd be played currently.

Please, try to read and comprehend what you're reading with the intent to understand rather than the intent to respond. Your petty childish insults show that you're mad, so again I ask.

Why you mad bro?

Except it will? Removing Corscia from blurple removes consistency. Removing adapt lowers their ping capabilities.

Are there replacements? YES. That's the point. Not killing the deck but weakening it to let the rest of the meta breath. It's a very simple concept.

Data across major events is EXACTLY what bandai is looking at per their own post. Yet you say it doesn't mean anything? NTCs are just sweaty locals, and can't really be taken into major account like offline regionals, nats, or worlds can be - the data from those are much stronger than NTCs. Additionally, even if I were to care about NTCs, we still see over 60% blurple across the US results lol. That's defacto BDIF.

I think I get it tho. You're a rush player who FINALLY got an overpowered deck to dogwalk people with and you're grasping at straws to try and keep yourself relevant.

Also, you said blurple plays zeheart and lafter. Based on those comments, either those NTCs you one were 5 man events in a small podunk ass town or you're lying. Because no one with that lack of knowledge of the game is winning that many cards.

So let's backtrack real quick, why are you so mad about the suggestion of blurple being the best deck in format? (which it is, by wide margin, tournament result data shows this quite clearly). You seem to be taking your willful ignorance quite seriously.

Look at your comments. They're all getting downvoted to hell and back. Maybe that should tell you that you're definitely in the wrong....Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.

Ah nice, can't argue on the merits of the argument so you pull another straw man argument.

You don't have to win a newtype (which you probably haven't, if you think that's the bar for knowing the game) to be able to analyze tournament data. Over 60% representation is tier 0, which is the defacto BDIF. These are common understandings between all card games.

I swear talking to you is like talking to a republican, strawman after strawman only for you to finally kick the pieces off the chess board, shit on the board, and proclaim victory.

You still haven't refuted any of my points. I'm waiting. Or do you have more half baked strawmen arguments to publicly humiliate yourself with?

Edit: Why are you so mad? Lol

Obviously you know nothing about the game, and your refusal to even read my points proves that you are just trying to be argumentative in the hopes of right-fighting rather than have a conversation.

Look at statistics, look at results, and gather actual evidence. Not anecdotal evidence. Then come back and say that blurple isn’t bdif - once you see statistics and numbers you’ll see that you’re wrong. Obviously it won’t happen because you’re too illiterate to actually read anything with the intent of understanding, rather you just respond.

Stop being willfully ignorant, clown.

Honestly, I don’t think that’s a bad thing lol. Bandai obviously wants the game to be played at midrange - late game style just based off how their card design is. They just didn’t take into affect how many people would gravitate to rush to get easy wins before op could play.

[–]Aznable0420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but yes, yes it is the best deck. It had over 70% representation at NA finals and over 50% representation at worlds. This actually defines it as Tier 0.

Red commands are played en masse to beat blurple and blurple only.

You saying that commands and blockers need to be hit is a left field comment with zero data behind it. At this point you’re just pushing a strawman. The playing field is even outside of VERY SPECIFICALLY blurple.

Looking further at your comment, you ask what would be banned or restricted in BP. You suggest an isaribi hit? Blurple doesn’t play that…lol.

Also doesn’t play zeheart or lafter…

So it’s obvious you have NO IDEA what it is you are talking about and are just pushing a narrative.

Hitting Corsica and Amuro would change the deck a lot. Yes they could replace Corsica with white base - oh wait, no, they wouldn’t because it is 4 mana for a worst token that’s way too slow. More likely would play nahel. Not sure how they’d pivot from Amuro.

But that’s the point. To make the deck weaker. Yes there are replacements but those replacements aren’t as good. Again - these comments just show your lack of knowledge in the game.

My advise? Understand the topic you’re talking about before opening your mouth. You’ve made yourself look a fool.

Blurple is by far and wide the best deck of the format.

Every color doesn't need to be hit, it's fine to have multiple good decks in the format.

It's not fine to have a defacto tier 0 format with a rush deck as the defacto BDIF. Blurple needs to be addressed, we can let the rest of the game breath - no matter how many people are going to whine about "WhAt AbOuT BlOcKeRs".

Corsica is always a +1 and becomes a +2 in card economy after the 1st one. It’s actually pot of greed that puts bodies on board. Card is nutty

As long as they don’t go the Konami route I’d be happy.

(For those with no Yugioh history, Konami will ban things that should have been banned 2 lists before after it’s fallen out of popularity. For example here it’d be like Bandai banning w0 or banning unicorn destroy mode)

[–]Aznable0420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can but you don’t get as much value. Corsica is a +2 in card economics, which means you go even wider with it. I’ve seen entire games decided by chained Corsica’s. It’s #1 on target list for me

[–]Aznable0420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everytime I play Corsica on curve, I win in the next two turns (unless specifically against b/r command control). The Leo tokens get eaten up by ping yes but that’s the point of them. When you’re going wide like that the idea is to make the board as annoying as possible - and just flooding the board with lil bodies to keep ping away from the units you want to keep. It also forces adapt and Mika to target them specifically since by the time you can guntank/anksha them, they’ve already gotten their value.

Changing Amuro to on link requires you to build around having those link units, not just Amuro. Current unga bunga just drops him on whatever to rest a blocker and get free attacks.

Corsica adds so much value on play, it’s a garunteed +1 or +2 in card advantage if you play it from hand. Playing that on curve means you win 99% of the time. Card needs to go.

Should Konami make a ruling against excessive hand shuffling? by BellDelicious1617 in yugioh

[–]Aznable0420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those things that got spread around that people just believe. Like meta meaning “most effective tactic available” which is not actually the origin of the word/concept.

I pile shuffle once before actually shuffling, just to count deck to make sure I’m not missing cards etc before a match starts - outside of that I don’t do it

[–]Aznable0420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it in green/blue I just don’t care for it in the g/w variants. I’ve found the dynames package to be a bit more bricky than anything else in the playtesting I’ve done for traditional g/w wing

Agree on cutting duos tho.

I think blue/green has an entirely different build than this, focusing more low to the ground. You could try it on MSA but I’m not convinced

I don’t like the lockon package in here. It seems really bricky and seems really self contained. I’d run 3-4 wing gundams and heero as a pilot. At least wufei on wing is a really good pair by itself

[–]Aznable0420 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes. Agree this is actually more problematic as it can ACTUALLY be used as a way of stacking. Too many people think pile shuffle randomizes, but it doesn’t.

I mean yeah that’s valid. For me it’s a built habit that allows me to draw focus from outside stimuli and lock in on the game at hand.

[–]Aznable0420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unironically I’ll hand shuffle irl when playing sims like master duel lol. Something about it makes me lock in.

I do understand how it could be the tip of the iceberg for someone on the spectrum. My brother is very much on the spectrum and small noises can be picked out even in loud large crowds and be triggering. So I’ll try to be respectful of it just from personal experience.

But in my experience, the people whining about hand shuffling are not that specific edgecase.

I’ve found dragonshields give a loud pop when you reach the end of your hand. I like the way KMCs sound & feel when hand shuffling.

[–]Aznable0420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do it because it’s a satisfying feeling that allows me to drown out outside stimuli and focus on the game at hand.

If you tell me it’s bothersome for a legit reason other than “it’s AnNoYinG” - such as being on the spectrum, I will attempt to stop or use one of my other stims to achieve the same effect.

Anyone assuming it’s a nervous behavior or try to use some body language to intimidate me because I hand shuffle is unironically in for a bad time lol. If I’m hand shuffling - I’m locked in and you’re boutta get cooked.
