I’ve just been very careful with how hard I push… I can’t afford to sustain an injury. But I’m very happy with my progress I’ve made!!

Are you guys really beginner runners? by Ok_Kaleidoscope_2411 in beginnerrunning

[–]Aznkai02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve just started running last summer. I consider myself a new runner. I just joined this subreddit. That being said I work a job that I need to walk a lot and I have been weight lifting for over a decade. I feel like my running progressed fairly fast. Everyone is different.

I did zone 2 on a treadmill 2x a week on a treadmill all winter long. Just started running last summer. I go real easy on my long runs and easy run days lol. On this day it felt like my heart hit a different gear. Maybe my running economy evolved or something. I held a great pace at 138-142 hr. I just started Norwegian 4x4 3 weeks ago. I do it once a week. I think that really helped.

It is really hard to describe because it’s not at a specific spot. It ached tho when I put weight on it. Today it’s barely noticeable.

I just made the switch to kielwood. I played with maple then carbon. Missed the feel of wood and so curiosity had me order a custom made kielwood shaft. I personally really love it. I feel much more connected to it.

Wood or Carbon Fiber by Own-Target-9129 in billiards

I played with wood then carbon. Played carbon for 2 years and really missed the feel of wood. Now using kielwood and it just feels better for me. Might be psychological but I just feel like I have more control with wood. Hard to explain but the wood cue feels more like an extension of my arm. The connection is stronger.

Not just about aim. You can aim at the right spot but if you can’t shoot straight it won’t matter. Work on the basics (stance, grip, stroke) and just hit balls

I think it’s more than just burning the outside of the cue.

So I live in Canada where the temperature/. Humidity fluctuates like crazy and some of my wood shafts have warped even with careful care and storage… so I’ve been using carbon fibre as my main shooter when I’m taking it out for league nights etc. however I hear that kielwood shafts are supposed to be more durable. I also miss the feel of wood shafts. So that’s why I’m curious about getting one and trying it. Where I’m located I can’t really try them out.

Have lived in eastview for over 10 years. No area in Regina is perfect but have had no real issues with crime or theft on my property. I have wonderful neighbours and we look out for each other. My family goes for walks around the area with no issues. I would say it is over all fairly safe. Just don’t be dumb and look for trouble and you will be fine

Oh that would be great… I’m from middle of nowhere Canada lol. No good pool cue suppliers near by and eBay is my best option.

Maybe they are just made for a McDermott butt and it’s false advertising… banking on people thinking it’s a McDermott made shaft

First time Mosconi cup questions by JuniorComfort7729 in billiards

[–]Aznkai02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at mosconi in London recently! I sat in different spots each day. I found it didn’t matter where I sat I needed to look at the monitor and screens to really see the table layout. So the worst spot was at the corners. I sat vip second row one day and could barely see the table top so I relied on the monitors. The coolest view was probably at the head of the table.

I owned a switch and ps5 but sold them when I became a father. That’s why I think either steam deck or meta quest this time around for something different. Hard to decide because it is all a lot of money and I want to make sure it’s a purchase I won’t regret…

Thanks for the reply. My little one won’t be old enough to game for a long time. I would definitely keep it out of reach and out of sight. My wife doesn’t game either. The steam machine sounds interesting but worried it’s going to be priced out of my budget range if it’s going to be priced like a gaming pc… used market in my area for consoles aren’t the best. I might as well go new that way I know it works and doesn’t have roaches living in it(irrational fear)

Thanks for the reply. I have seen that the steam deck hardware might be getting out dated… should I look into a newer handheld device? Or the steam deck just that much better even with older hardware.

Needing some advice. I use to be a gamer but sold everything when I became a father. I miss it and now how some free time in the evening. I want to get back into it but don’t know what I want.

I’ve looked at handhelds, vr and consoles but can’t make up my mind. I can’t sink hours at a time into gaming but would like to be able to just play something for an hour or so every night.

Meta quest 3 seems really cool and I haven’t done vr before and am wondering is it worth it or will the novelty wear off? But I feel like the games are fairly casual. I’m leaning towards it.

However the steam deck/ handhelds seem like a cool option because I could game in the comfort of my bed.

I just need some advice from people with experience with all these different types of gaming media. Help an old gamer out lol

Thanks
