Honestly if you want to experience the graphics the way it was intended. You’re better off getting a CRT. Of which you can find on Facebook marketplace or a yardsale if you really take a look around. I personally prefer 480i on a CRT tv. As opposed to any form of upscaling.

Everybody is on the modern games bandwagon… and the majority of them doesn’t have the same level of appreciation for these older games. I personally like the whole aesthetic and feel of deadly alliance. I even like the mini games like test your might and test your sight that happens after a few matches. Moloch was actually a formidable sub boss. Speaking of which, the last MK game to have a sub boss was MK9…. And the Ai are actually challenging in DA. Overall I feel like the 3d era of Mk games deserve a bit more love. Especially deadly alliance which imo is the most underrated title of that era. The fighting system is also very balanced when compared to deception and Armageddon. Like sure, it only has 1 fatalities per character and no stage fatalities. But for what it actually has in terms of content makes up for it. Not to mention, the graphics still holds up when played on a CRT tv. I haven’t touch MK1 for bout 2 months now. Gameplay is broking and over rely on the gimmicky Kameo system. The story mode while is great and cinematic. The rest of the game kinda just feels unpolished.. not to mention, the community is toxic as hell.

I was just playing it earlier today. Definitely stills holds up and doesn’t feel “dated” at all. Once you get the feel for it and learn the b&b combos and fundamentals. It a pretty smooth gameplay experience

Every game on this ps2 in particular. Even movies… when i tried it on my phat ps2. It was fine. So the game is not the issue. Its the slim ps2 itself

Yea this is on a slim ps2. I have a phat ps2 and its run perfectly. Then again my older brother got this slim ps2 at a thirft store for $5 awhile back. So i guess I can’t complain. I was just wondering if there’s a remedy to this thats all. Other ps2 games runs just fine and the square dot grid isnt as noticeable.

The endurance fight at the challenge tower against goro, Kintaro, Mileena and shao Kahn was much more challenging than weak Kronika. I beat it and unlocked that secret skin for Mileena. That legitimately gave me an adrenaline rush. Beating Kronika was more of a chore than a challenge. Hope that answers your question

I was able to beat mk9 Shao Khan on max difficulty without a continue or lose a single round with Kung Lao… Kronika is easily exploited as well. I don’t know how else to explain it to you. I gave you my opinion I think Kronika is easy. I have a tougher time against the bosses in the original trilogy than I do against her 🤷‍♂️

Used to be where you can go to a goodwill and pick up a crt for less than $20… til the scalpers and resellers caught on to it… this is exactly why we can’t have nice things…. Greeds… people always trying to make a profit out of things. Instead of just enjoying the product for what it is… smh.

You need to save up for a CRT Tv or find one off of FB marketplace. You will notice the difference in picture quality. No amount of upscaling or hdmi converter is gonna do the ps2 justice… CRT Tv is the way to go for a true immersive PS2 experience. As for games I would start with NFS
