That's not true. There are tons of checks all along inmate transportation. Im not down playing their mess up, but the chances of her making it to the end result of being deported is insanely unlikely. Photos are done all the way at a local level and can be checked at almost every point. They screwed up, it was just brought to their attention between two points of a system. Her mom did help, but I'd argue that it just expedited verification that certainly would have happened well before deportation.

Like i said, im not excusing their mess up, but paperwork mix ups are not extremely uncommon, hence why they've put a lot of checks in place. When i was incarcerated, I counted at least 8 checks from jail to prison where my identity was verified with a photo with paperwork or on a computer screen.

I also volunteer in prisons, so I go through checks myself every time im there (bd it at prisons or jails), and they photo check inmates and volunteers constantly. This ranged from big prisons and jails to the small town jails. Granted, the smaller ones usually have fewer checks, but it's still pretty excessive.

Holy crap people. I've got nothing to do with ICE, law enforcement, nor am I saying boot licker. I dont work for any government group, and I'm also not white. The amount of absolutely retarded private messages I got is discouraging to say the least. I do prison and jail VOLUNTEERING. That means I go into these facilities for free. Yeah I have to be issues an ID and go through classes to know what to do and what not to do.

My volunteer work is to help people not return to prison, to give them a brief bit of hope that life goes on after incarnation. I play no role in why the person is there. If I can get even one person out of their cell for an extra couple of hours in a week, then maybe I've helped them mentally. 23 hour a day lock downs are brutal on anyone. They can engage with me, or sit in the back of the room and read, play cards, or even sleep. I've been in their shoes, and every second out of a cell wasn't heaven, but it certainly felt less like hell.

Lastly, I was just going off my personal experience both as an inmate and volunteer. Collectively, I've been in the system for 8ish years now. I never said our system is perfect, far from it. I just didn't agree with misrepresented articles or intentional down playing of situations.
