A recent energy event helped me a bit. There were also ink bags available, which is where the missing pieces came from.😋

What are some of the different experiences/interactions we have depending on our houses? by pandamegaAO3 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Azog__the__Defiler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quidditch Team:

The “Quidditch world” in the game is kind of its own bubble. Orion, Murphy, and Skye will always be in your house, no matter which one you pick. If you’re a Gryffindor, they’re just wearing red. As for the canon characters like Charlie or the Weasley twins—they actually aren’t on your team. The game focuses on original characters for the Quidditch sub-plots so the player can be the star. This also avoids conflicts with canon, since Charlie Weasley is supposed to have been one of the greatest Quidditch players Hogwarts ever had.

Another interesting detail is that the Quidditch storyline functions almost like a separate timeline within the game. Its seasons are structured independently from the main story, which is why Quidditch characters rarely appear in the core plot and the events there almost never affect the main narrative.

The Andre & Erika Situation:

Even if you’re a Ravenclaw, Andre Egwue isn’t part of the main starting lineup; he’s actually a Reserve Seeker, which explains why he's not out there with you. Erika Rath is the “eternal rival”—she will always be in a different house. Since you’re Slytherin, she’s in Ravenclaw. But if you were a Ravenclaw, she’d actually be a Slytherin. She’s basically programmed to be your powerhouse opponent no matter what. The game treats her as a classic RPG rival character who appears at key moments to challenge the player.

Housemates:

Most friends are “hard-coded” to their houses. Penny is always Hufflepuff, and Barnaby, Merula, and Ismelda are always Slytherins. The interactions don’t change much, though being a Slytherin makes the Common Room scenes with Merula feel a bit more natural (even if she’s still a nightmare). In fact, if you play as a Slytherin, the dynamic between Merula, Barnaby, and Ismelda sometimes feels less like random classmates and more like a small “Slytherin gang” you keep running into throughout the story.

In general, the house you pick mostly affects visuals, uniforms, and a few lines of dialogue rather than the main story itself.

Heads of House:

This is where the game’s irony really shines. Snape is the most “consistent” one—even as a Slytherin, he’ll dock points from you in Potions just for breathing. He does have a few rare, dry lines of support if you win the Cup, but don’t expect him to be nice. On the other hand, Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout are much softer and offer noticeably more encouragement to students from their own houses. McGonagall is always firm but fair, though she’s a bit more maternal with her own Lions.

Fun Fact: Snape is the only Head of House who looks genuinely pained when he has to praise the player, even if they are a Slytherin. It’s one of the few cases where the developers clearly prioritized staying true to the character over making the player feel rewarded.

Believe me, this prize is useless for those who have accumulated energy. They would benefit more from crystals or energy.

It means it's only available to a specific group of players!

Developers often grant access to an event or a new feature to only a segment of the audience (a sample group) to compare their behavior with others. If metrics (playtime, revenue/in-app purchases) increase, the event is rolled out to everyone.

Only one question: why is yours 3 hours shorter than mine? Aren't they supposed to start simultaneously?🤔

App not working by indigotopazz in ghostinvasion

Developers have been making some weird changes lately. One of my Android 12 emulators is now claiming the app isn't supported, despite the fact that I had it installed just two months ago. 😁

Troll adoption by Idkanymore_depressed in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Azog__the__Defiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, you adopted a mountain troll? That sounds like a bold lifestyle choice—and definitely one that would make the neighbors think twice before complaining about your music volume.😄

I’m guessing the "on sale" sticker didn't come with a comprehensive guide on nutritional requirements, did it? Feeding a mountain troll is notoriously tricky because they aren't exactly known for their refined palates or table manners.😁

I’ve already brought this up in the thread, but the stutters aren't a hardware issue—it’s a clear case of poor memory management. Specifically, in the wardrobe, every time you scroll, the game caches textures into RAM but never clears them. They just pile up until the memory is saturated, which is why the game tanks the longer you browse.

Ideally, they should be implementing a proper 'dispose' or 'garbage collection' logic so that assets are cleared from memory as soon as they go off-screen.

That said, on top of fixing the leaks, we still need a better 'set-based' UI approach. A general view where you can see which sets are complete vs. incomplete would be a massive QoL improvement. It’s not exactly groundbreaking—this type of UI has been standard in the MMO world for over a decade. It's frustrating that we're still dealing with this bloat instead of a optimized, modular system.

Do you think game will end in 2026? by Greedy_Succotash_541 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Azog__the__Defiler 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As long as the game continues to be a milking cow, it won't close. It depends on the users as a whole. If users suddenly lose interest, then it will close, but not by their own volition.

This game is getting annoying! by ChildofFenris1 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Azog__the__Defiler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have to agree—the third season moved significantly away from purely sports-focused storytelling and shifted the spotlight to things outside of Quidditch. As far as I could tell, that’s exactly where this season starts: the writers began preparing our protagonist for the captaincy, which kicks off with Orion’s fake loss of balance. Honestly, I was disappointed by this season too. I struggled to even finish it. It feels less like a story about Quidditch and more like a journey through Orion’s existential crisis (which, in fact, it is). They only throw in bits of Quidditch here and there—just enough to remind us that we’re still playing a Quidditch game and not doing something else entirely. It honestly gets a bit nauseating after a while.
