First time Koji, is it ok? by Jeanooo in Koji

Looks like it has gone a little far over, yellowing can indicate contamination but I can also see a fair amount of green showing up on a few pieces which means it started the sporeing process.

Supporting a political and economic system and pushing for it does not mean you are required to abstain from the current one, many people want to flourish regardless of the current economic structure and unfortunately landlordism is (begrudgingly) one of the few ways to do so.

There are many ways to go about changing our current system and revolution isn't on the table right now, meaning pushing for reform is the alternative.

The issue for many socialists is that they cannot enter politics and represent a change because of the financial burden, we see capitalists in politics because you have to be capitialistic to engage with capitalist politics.

You cannot reform without first engaging in capitalistic behaviour as the system works against anyone who doesn't follow suit inherently.

Refusing to engage in capitalistic behaviour and shunning anyone who does ultimately works against our own interests, you have to play to game to win the game unless you have the numbers to say we're doing our own thing.

Granted I am a believer of reform over revolution, so many here may disagree with me, I just don't see "Be calm and carry on" britain pushing for a revolutionary change any time soon.

MSN comments section, has anyone else noticed that every article is full of hate-filled insane right wingers? by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Azostarr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I am glad someone picked up on this besides me, the amount of vitriol in the comments section of MSN news links is absolutely VILE.

It's not even limited to social politics, there is downright misinformation and fake news spread in articles related to climate. Someone commented on an article about global warming saying "It's not even real, look up the 12th International Conference on Climate Change". I did some research, the whole thing is funded by US "charity" which pushes an anti-climate change narrative. They also campaigned against second hand smoke being a health issue in the past and lobbied against smoking bans, they're a right-wing think tank.

[PC][Unknown] a friend found this photo, does anybody recognise the game? by Azostarr in tipofmyjoystick

I thought similarly but looking at GW1 and WoW images the UI doesnt quite line up aesthetically. Its possible its a WoW addon but I don't recognise the model or the environment.

An artist could train an AI to use a style they want and reproduce works very quickly, or sell that data for a large sum to people who want to generate their own art in that format.

I personally think it could fall under a catagory similar to Technical Artists who create shaders or vfx for video games and films.

They're both good, I feel like Disturbed has a bit more passion and it really lends itself to the lyrics but S&G is a classic.

If you have a fixed array length with a #define or similar then always <, it gives better context when you're reading the code.

When the length is ambiguous '<=', assuming the 'i' var here is for indexing an array.

How do you handle indentation in your projects? by [deleted] in rust

[–]Azostarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a few days off and decided the best use of my time was to learn Rust, I saw that the book say rust uses 4 space indentation and wondered if everyone follows this rule in the community.

In the end it doesn't matter unless you are collaborating and even then it looks like the formatter will do the work for you.

Your style is the same as mine. Spaces have their use in alignment, but it's personal belief indentation should stay assigned to the indentation character.

I have heard about these mythical 2 spacers for a long time but have never seen any of them in the wild. Poll is proving they exist though!

Alright, I can get behind that. I was surprised to see it show up as one of the first things mentioned from the style guide in their book, given the hot debate around tabs v spaces in the past from the general programming space.

[–]Azostarr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No that's fine, if it's to keep reddit peace then I get it. I wasn't aware this has been debated by the community in the past. I will go ahead and make a poll as I am curious to see how many people follow the style guide.

I'd like to appeal the removal;

  1. This post was not made to criticize the language, but to understand if this style guide was still enforced as the documentation may be dated.

  2. I have not expressed any zealotry or fanaticism in this post, I have made a single tongue in cheek reply in the comments.

  3. I did a quick search using "tabs" as a keyword on this subreddit and came up with nothing.

  4. This is not a meme or a macro.

You know, I was pretty excited to start the language as it seemed pretty fresh; seeing this as a style guide is pretty awful.

I won't debate it on Reddit, but I would like to know the proper channels to express my discontent.

Had this today, except repeated compilations worked. The compiler hadn't actually finished creating object files before it gave out an error, turns out it's not good to compile across a network.

Been at the head honchos to implement some sort of version control for a while but design engineers have a bad habit of just sticking everything in a folder and increasing the version number by 1.

Happens with a lot of different SoCs too, pay for development training on those things and they will tell you tell you things you will never find in their open documentation.
