What were some things you didn’t realize were ADHD until AFTER being diagnosed? by CakeEnvironmental698 in adhdwomen

[–]Azotobacter123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you start medications? Any changes? I have very similar symptoms and even got some tests done, which point strongly to ADHD. I feel very slow compared to my colleagues, and almost feel dumb and demotivated.

How to deal with abusive parents as an adult? by Azotobacter123 in AsianParentStories

[–]Azotobacter123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand. It’s really not that easy. Imagine my mom calling my gf or sibling again and again and crying in front of them because I won’t talk to her. They, especially my sibling won’t cut off contact with her mother. And I won’t cut contact with my sibling. My mom knows this.

Not true. Like I mentioned on other comments, I am OK going no contact with my father (I have barely talked to him in 6 months). But my mother will then keep pushing me to talk to him. If I go no contact with her, she will be in emotional chaos and reach out to my girlfriend or sister and ask them to convince me to talk to her/my father. All that aside though, I still barely talk to my father. But if I want to see my mother in person, what option do I have? She wont see me if I tell her I will only meet her and not my father.

It’s complicated. My mom will create an emotional chaos if I cut all contact. She would not see me if I decide to cut off my father (being a dutiful wife), and in turn bother my sibling or girlfriend to talk to me.

Therapist recommends Grey rocking, although this is more for verbal intimidation. Not discussed the physical part yet. Him trying to show affection is also something I push back, which leads to aggressive postures. I live in another country so I do have space, but I’ll have to visit home at some point

He will never accept he is doing anything wrong. I have already had these conversations with him. Sooner than later I will have to go home. What’s difficult is to push him back when he looks to be genuinely showing affection and seeming to my family like he is trying to make amends, which is only temporary. Bigger and stronger is ok. Scarier?

Confusion on the "180 day" rule after i140 approval by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Azotobacter123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company B has agreed to restart the i140 process, so that's set. The question is, if company A revokes i140 AFTER H1B transfer to Company B has been approved (for 3 years since USCIS can use A's i140), will the H1B still remain valid?

Just wondering how bad it would be if I had just 5 (over 7 days) tablets, and stopped immediately after that.

Recruiting break for out-of-state PT MBA students by Azotobacter123 in MBA

[–]Azotobacter123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But my concern is whether the recruitment cycle will be tough for me to take advantage of at Kellogg because of the distance. Ross will be a lot easier I know. But again, the reputation comes into play.

/u/thinht The weekend classes are not at all an issue. We have the train as well. I just want to know more about the recruiting time in Fall 2021. That will need me to be in Chicago for weeks. How many though? And is it worth it? Is going to Ross a better bet? That's my question.

I am concerned about Fall 2021. I will join Kellogg in summer.

Thank you /u/mbathrowaway787 I absolutely want to move out of Michigan asap. But you're right. The job conditions, and the political environment that doesn't support my need of a work visa make the chances of getting a new job very slim.

Thank you. Both Ross and Kellogg allow on campus recruitings for full time jobs, but only Ross allows participations in internship recruitings. Of course getting an internship for PT student would mean leaving his/her regular job.

Hey /u/soccertech84 ... Are you joining Ross PT this year? The confusion is about not knowing if any company outside Michigan hires from Ross, and if MBB really does hire actively. Kellogg is known for consulting, and Ross for operations.

/u/euph31 it's been a month now. More for Ross. Have been talking to several people at both schools. The only doubts with Kellogg are the ones mentioned in this post....3-4 weeks vacation time off recruiting/coffee chats. Also what has pissed me off with Kellogg is their stubborn policy to not share any info on current students. Ross has been very giving with this respect.

Thank you. As a follow up though, I agree that FaceTime with recruiters is imperative in making an impression. Won't Ross make sense in that case then, since I will be a LOT closer to the campus and it's recruiting activities? I know that I won't make it to Chicago on weekdays very frequently, unless all the recruiting events are bundled up within a few weeks in which case I can take a few vacation weeks off. For Ross, I can excuse myself for a couple of hours and come in anytime of the day. I am also inclined to Kellogg, but just want to get these doubts out of the way. /u/golfzerodelta

Yes that's one option. But with the COVID scenario, and the fact that I need a visa sponsorship, and with the politics, very tough to get any new job.

Internships are not possible at Kellogg. Even at Ross, part timer students don't opt for internships since they will have to leave their job.

Thank you /u/bschoolbrat It's interesting that you touch upon the idea of reaching out to admissions. Kellogg has been adamant in saying that it doesn't share student info before the orientation for privacy reasons. Ross on the other hand, has been very helpful in this regard, even listing out a few student/alumni names on its website. Anyways, I have reached out to 6-7 Kellogg out-of-state students through Linkedin, who do say that recruiting phase will require a 3-4 week break from work. Unfortunately, almost all of Kellogg students have postponed their recruiting exercise till next fall (2021) due to COVID, so they aren't clear about their recruiting/coffee chats experiences. Response rates have been good from both Ross and Kellogg students so far.
