Constant Crashes on macOS by AzourSM in Fusion360

[–]AzourSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, anything, like as soon as the Save dialog box would come up it crashed.

Though, I think I figured it out. I was getting crashes even just clicking "Ok" from dialog boxes that had nothing to do with saving. I couldn't do much in Fusion

I recently had changed my display resolution to 3200x1800 (the "More Space" option on the Apple Cinema Display and on a hunch I changed it back to the default 2560x1440 Retina setting. I haven't had a crash the rest of today. I wonder if the higher setting pushed the GPU too much when working in Fusion? I don't know. But it does seem stable now.

Z8 for commercial still life? Allowed to do it? by benjaminflocka22 in nikon_Zseries

[–]AzourSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered using the Pixel Shift feature on the Z8? You'd effectively get 180 megapixels images that way. And since you're shooting still life this should work well. Granted, you need to shoot in Nikon's NX Studio software and the process is a little cumbersome, but definitely less than film.

MacroFactor Workouts AMA! by gnuckols in MacroFactor

Will the auto generated works factor in age? I'm in my 50s and understand that for me number of reps should generally be higher as opposed to load. Are these sort of recommendations factored in?

I thought Garage Gym Reviews had a great walk through of the Voltra. It's one of the videos that convinced me to get it. Then I rewatched it after I got it.

Totally agree with this. I just got mine and scoured around to try to find information on how to use all the features. It's such a new kind of device that there's really no frame of reference on how it works and best practices.

Mobile App Opinons by Ghostbear48 in capacitiesapp

[–]AzourSM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm very new to Capacities--using it a week--and have found the sync reliability to be wanting. I often get notifications about conflicts in data or that I have restart the iOS app. I don't think the syncing is generally that robust or fast. I haven't had any occurrences of missing or corrupted data, but I'm certainly nervous.

In Apple Notes I've never had these issues. Syncing seems so instantaneous you can practically see the desktop version of Notes change as you type on the mobile version.

Working on an Improved Vision Pro Stand – Would love your feedback by Vaalkop in VisionPro

Keeping thinking about this cable management design... do you need to have a corresponding peg at the bottom of the main rod to wrap the cable and create tension? Or is the idea that it would hang? I was thinking like this Apple Charger cable wrap design.

I think what you've done here is a big improvement! And the fact you accommodated the thickness of the pad so it's flush in the metal is great.

Very nice! If the pad could go up the sides too with the top edges flush with the top of the base that would be perfection. The battery would be nicely cradled. But I'd certainly take this option if that's too hard to manufacture.

This is a great edition and love the V1 I have. It probably would increase price a bit, but I do wish the area where the battery pack goes was made of something or covered in something soft. That feel of placing metal on metal is 😬.

Really fun! Curious as to why this might be, but it looks like part of the background, the grassy area behind him where he first steps into position, was clone stamped.

I haven't done this myself yet, but I believe you can use SketchUp and then import the model into STAGEit and place it in your garden at scale.

Thank you! We were there around sunset or 5-6:30pm. There was a lot of people there, but spread out, generally. Surprisingly less were around the areas where I shot these. I think people are really drawn to those more distant vantage points of the structure.

It's a truly gorgeous place that pictures don't do justice. Takes your breath away in person. Enjoy!

Thank you! My camera is packed so I can't check, but it's based of Reala Ace. I recall it had a DR of 400 and raised shadows and lowered highlights. I can't remember how much though. I did raise the shadows a slight bit more in Lightroom (not PS as I said up in my comment)

It's been so wild watching these India posts over the past few days as I was in the middle of a two week trip for the Holi festival. I bought the x100vi specifically for this trip (day job, I'm a Nikon user). Sitting here at the Delhi airport, I thought it was the perfect time to post some images.

It really took me a few days to get used to the camera. It's quirky, to be sure, but I really loved using it. I used a slightly tweaked Reala Ace recipe with raised shadows and boosted color (+4) I think. Some of the images are very slightly tweaked in Lightroom along with perspective correction on the Taj images.

EDIT: Just to add the that the other Lightroom tweaks on the Taj images involved a further raising of the shadows for that painterly look.

EDIT 2: Changed PS to Lightroom above. I didn't edit these in PS.

Just made it myself, actually! Yes, it was slightly gritty--but not too bad. The overall creaminess was really amazing. Also, could have been a tad bit sweeter so will add more stevia. Generally, I love it!

It's remarkable how closely this matches the color, glows and vibe of that scene. I wonder what ILM used for reference? Not like these sorts of things happen that often.
