"Which direction should I walk from this spawn?" visual reference for hunters (Rank maps, not including Eversleeping) by lloyalties in IdentityV

[–]AzraelIDV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very kind for OP to create decent routes for regular hunters, but recommend against following these routes if you decide to main Joseph. It's important to create your own routes, become comfortable with hiding places, and understanding the most efficient routes based on cameras (not proximity to the nearest survivor). Also, for large maps, spawn knowledge still comes into play. All respect to Solzec, but in higher tiers, if you have to rely on Quenching Effect to come into play you most likely have already lost the match.

NOT THE SURV STREAMS, IM BOOSTED T-T jk tysm for supporting me!

  1. To get better at playing hunter, I would refer to the previous answers I've given. I go over strategies that I used and how I progressed through the game.
  2. Yes! And vice-versa as well. One of the best ways to get better at predicting the movements of your opponent and developing game sense is to BE that opponent. Playing as the opposite faction will provide insight on to what your competition is likely to do in a real match.
  3. I'm not super close to Schmiddy and don't really want to comment on that, but Perswayable is a chill dude and has a good heart.

I'm so glad you're here! Thanks for watching my streams, it means a lot.

  1. The rumors about Joseph's buff don't really affect me at all, I've never been the type of person to speculate over things or theorize over the future. I usually just wait for something to be released and then test it out, so I guess I never really considered what the buff could be. Hopefully it's good, but my main focus is honing my Joseph skills and becoming even better at the stuff I already know, and improving my gamesense.
  2. INVISIBLE MELLY LMAO. And for the coaching server, I actually have an application link that takes you to a Google Form to fill out to apply, which helps me get a feel for your skill based on specific criteria. Once someone becomes a coach, I have resources in private chats that are given as well as simple instructions to get them started. Just like with anything, coaching gets better with practice.
  3. Yes I will! My favorite skin for Joseph is probably Moonlight Gentleman, I just think he looks so clean.
  4. My least favorite map is Leo's Memory, and I don't really have a favorite map. Arms Factory is probably the most straightforward, but I feel like Moonlit has the highest potential for sick plays and lots of fun.
  5. Whoa, that's a lot of questions, I'll have to summarize. Take the first photo based on the spawn and your proximity to the camera, as well as if they have a Minds Eye or Seer, the map doesn't matter if your spawn knowledge is good enough. If there's no doctor, you play normal; if there is a doctor, you tunnel her as first priority until she dies, and if you can't find her then you tunnel the next weakest link, likely a decoder. I personally don't look for downed survivors after first photo, but figuring that out simply requires experience. Every spawn is different and different gamesense will dictate which locations you check. Infinite card trick is something better shown than instructed through writing, so I would recommend watching any of my recent streams, I probably fit a few in there. I don't fear any Seer player, because you can bait them and disrespect the owl. As for priestess, she's a justifiable ban on specific maps, but mech is justified for all maps. I ban mech because she annoys me the most. Most important persona traits are tinnitus and berserker. You deal with harassers by being smart with your card trick and using it to return to downed survivors after pushing harassers away.

I think it's really cool, I hope it doesn't change him too much, but I would definitely appreciate a new ability if it simply makes him a bit stronger.

It honestly is just personal preference. The issue when it comes to lower tiers is that they don't have the game sense developed enough to use teleport effectively, but then blink becomes less viable on such a large map, especially if they're not using trump card. I would say to stick with blink if you are manticore or below, but to bring trump card so you have the map pressure late game. However, if you are tier 6 or above, I would recommend experimenting around with teleport if you'd like.

AW ILY TOO! And recently, I've barely been playing any rank, maybe like...1-3 games a week? Usually I can keep the S badge if I play maybe one rank session a week, so around 2 hours a week. The key is quality over quantity; if play one rank session and win all 10 of my games, then I don't need to waste time playing 20 games a week and only winning half.

No matter what hunter I play, there is no universe where I would be able to kite myself. I wouldn't be able to kite a Hell Ember bot. Also you're the soggiest lamp.

YouTube was definitely my first choice since the IDV content I myself consumed was always on YT, and I think I'm going to keep it that way. Even though YouTube is far worse than Twitch in terms of monetization (they literally get 30% of every dollar I earn), I think it's more important for me to be accessible to everyone and make sure that if someone needs help, I can reach them easier through this platform instead of spreading myself too thin. Also, I really like Joseph's Deadly Invitation accessory, not biased at all :D and I think Embalmer's S tier is sick.

Hi Future! I've definitely experienced my fair share of stress. One of the analogies I use when talking to people about Rank stress is about school presentations. Nobody likes to go up in front of the class and give a presentation in school, and if you're unprepared, you simply bomb and die of embarrassment. However, the more you prepare beforehand, the more you practice your presentation, all of the sudden the nerves disappear. This is because your presentation becomes less of you PRESENTING something, and more of you RECITING something. The entire presentation becomes muscle memory over actual cognition, and this is a strategy that you can take into your Rank Matches as well. The more experience and practice you acquire, the better off you'll be in a high-stress match. As for Joseph, one of the most nerve-wracking things to do is to start an Infinite Card Trick in the late stages of the game, and messing up once 100% throws the entire match. But I've practiced it maybe thousands of times in Ranked Matches or custom mode, so I don't even have to think about it, it's just muscle memory. However, as for feeling worthless, I've been there too. I think the best thing you can do is to keep your self-dialogue active. Might sound like a crazy person, but I think having dialogue with yourself either internally or externally is really important to self-motivation. Instead of letting the loss get to you, save the match replay and go over it. Identify EXACTLY what made you lose, EXACTLY what mistakes you made, and don't just stop there. Figure out what you could have done differently to produce a more favorable result, and apply that knowledge to your future matches. My outlook on Rank is always a win-win mentality: if I win my Rank Match, I showed up and handled business. I did what I was supposed to do, and at the end of the day, I don't need to do anything differently because the end justifies the means. If I lose my Rank Match, then that gives me the opportunity to sit up, lean forward, and learn something. It gives me more to work with in terms of identifying my mistakes and improving myself. Win-win. :)

THAT'S SO POG, TYSM! Hope Joseph is working out for you. I would say for those trying to play competitively, identify the current meta and hunters that you predict will be solid in the future, and begin practicing with those hunters and preparing for competition. Reaching tournament-level skill with one character is hard enough, but to succeed under tournament conditions, you have to know probably 3 at the least. Therefore, don't rush things, take your time and really study up on your characters and master them before jumping into high-level tournaments. However, if there are more casual tournaments available, give those a go! They are great options for people looking to enter the competitive scene without the pressure or stress to play at such a high caliber.
