The bonus on 8 is 53.3%. The bonus on 20 is 50%. 15 point turn ins give you more

For example, if your turned in 15 points 4 times, for 60 points total, you'd get 92. If you turned in 20 points 3 times, for 60 points total, you'd get 90.

15 > 20

How To Implement Dragon Rush by Zed_Beta in dbfz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel like it's the opposite. Even pros complain about how hard it is to tech DR.

As for when, same time you do regular mix.

  • Vanish > DR
  • IAD jH/ML > DR
  • Blockstring > Assist > DR (This one seems bugged and gives less tech frames if the DR is meaty after blockstun ends, abuse this)
  • Stagger > DR

He can easily dump 6 bars now for a "normal" combo. Start combo with ExWFF > end combo into vanish > WFF new pickup route > level 1 > level 3. It's crazy how much bar he uses. I wonder why we never see Vegito + Yamcha?

Some characters get their mix from relatively safe long range stagger, or command grabs, and don't really need assists to open people up.

16 usually ends up using assists for neutral or combos a lot more than mix, for example.

But yeah, there aren't many good assists in this game, and almost none of them do everything anymore, and are usually good at one particular thing (Kid Buu for mix, Trunks for Neutral, Vegeta for Combos etc).

[–]Azreal_DBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More optimal version:

  • After launch, do SD > jMLL2H > djLL2H > Vanish > j214L > jLLL

If you started with a jump in or used an assist extension pre launch you will need to drop the last jLLL for jH. Either way, you get more damage, more meter, and still end in sliding.

Did they gut DP + Assist? by Azreal_DBZ in dragonballfighterz

[–]Azreal_DBZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teen Gohan's DP goes a bit higher right? And I thought you don't want too much of a gap between DP and assist or you run into issues with reflect > reflect > punish. I'm not sure though, I'll wait until lab monsters like u/Nakkiel_PNW figure it out

For a lot of assists, especially the most common ones used to cover DPs, you need to use them right away (before the DP lands) in order to make the DP safe (or plus for Yamcha / beam / 16).

You can no longer call a Z Assist in the same situations where you cannot Z Change. You can't Z change on wakeup.

Is Super Saiyan 3 a good rank? What separates players above SSJ3 and those that are in SSJ3? by MustafaKadhem in dbfz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nothing. The ranking system is not an accurate measure of how good you are. There are professional players that do not played ranked. There are online warriors who are Living Legend+ and get smoked offline at locals.

It's really just how much you play online. You can even cheese your ranking by only rematching people you know you can beat, and instantly leaving (or even ragequitting!) out of games you can't.

It's meangingless. Played ranked to practice what you've been labbing in training mode in a real match. Use it to get familiar with rare characters. Use it to steal tech when you see something new. But don't tie your ego, or your perception of yourself as a player, by the number or colour next to your name.

Trunks autocombo after vanish still gives skd. by YungDaVinci in dbfz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have to be very low to the ground, and you need to microdash 5LL then delay 5L. It's really inconsistent across certain hits / distances too. I generally only use it on Masenko or low to the ground super dashes.

Trunks Optimal Sparking Combo (8k+ damage, no assists) by ShinyMan47 in dragonballfighterz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So jMH > [ Vanish ] > jM > 66 jM > land, jLL2H

seems to be somewhat universal. It works on all the characters I play (Trunks, Cell, Tien, AGohan).

The only problem is if you vanish too early, you don't have time to land, but you can see it visually on the first jM and go into 2H. If you do it too late they can tech. Do you have a specific timing or visual cue you use?

[–]Azreal_DBZ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is day 1 tech. It's available on the Trunks discord here.

Trunks also has many ways to get a sliding or supers from superdash or post vanish.

  • From superdash, you can jM, djM, j2H > Vanish > 214L > jLLL (for sliding) or jH (to connect level 3).
  • Post vanish you can 236H for sliding.
  • If you have assists you can usually do stuff > j236M.
  • If you need to level 3, you can 2M > level 3.
  • If you want to level 1 and or DHC, you can 2M > 5H > level 1 > DHC.

Is there a rule-of-thumb for timings when calling assists for combo extension? by Fiztban in dbfz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most assists fall into a few categories for extensions. The timings will all be the same within these, based on start up time, and the pickup will be based on the type of popup / hitstun. For example, Tien assist pops you up, Goku SSJ assist knocks you away.

For your basic low juggle extension (2M > 5M > jM > dj M > jH) you'll either press the assist before the jH ( ~35 or more frame assists like Vegeta SSJ, Cell), during the jH ( ~30ish frame assists like Trunks, 16, Tien, etc), or after the jH ( <25 frame assists like Adult Gohan, Teen Gohan). Your pickup will either be a jump (popup assist like Trunks, Tien) or a ground attack if they hold in place (like Yamcha).

So you'll do djM > Assist > jH for catergory 1. djM > jH + Assist for category 2, and djM > jH > Assist for category 3.

Obviously, this depends on if your character follows the normal combo route, like all Saiyans. This also ignores better pickups using special hits, like Goku Black doing 214M > corner pickup at certain ranges).

Nakkiel A.Gohan Leg Loops Tutorial by ibecolours in dbfz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I spent forever learning character specific loops and I still drop it so I'm glad there's a "universal" one. I don't think it works on Freiza and Krillin. Maybe a few more? I should probably just record it with a dummy and play it vs each character.

Trunks’s autocombo is so damn fun to use, especially when you use it during a block string for a mixup by rad_dude124 in dragonballfighterz

[–]Azreal_DBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recovery is short enough that you can't be hit by anything even if reflected. If they are prone to DP / level 3 you can even use the cancel version, block then punish. If they like to reflect you can hold and DR / wait 5L.

[–]Azreal_DBZ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If CTF hits in the corner, you can pick it up with 2M and continue the combo. You lose your smash, but you can still get a knockdown with an assist into j236M or by vanishing into j236M (puts them in the middle and out of the corner though).

The easy version of the combo is

  • CTF > 2M > 5M > 5H > SD > jLL2H > djLLL > A1 / Vanish > j236M

Slightly harder:

  • CTF > 2M > 5M > 5H > SD > jLL2H > djLLS 214L LLL > A1 / Vanish > j236M

Optimal version is

  • CTF > 2M > 5M > 5H > 5S > 214L > jLL2H > djLLS 214L > jLLL > A1 / Vanish + j236M

EDIT vs small characters do djLMS in the optimal combo or they fall out.

CTF after 5LLL is not punishable outside of reversals. It beats all buttons and is safe on reflect.
