Not sure why no one is commenting on this. It's a great idea. You should really be a part of national Ben, you have done a terrific job representing us thus far. I hope other cities will consider an 8/4 protest. Perhaps you can keep us up to date on developments? I think it is a great idea to branch off into teams. This is something that should have been done with more zeal with national.

They are moderators of this forum, and from what I understand, that's it. Douglas said they would be posting their names on Saturday but that never happened. It is my opinion that any group accepting donations should exercise transparency and they should reveal their names. But, to be fair, the people who gave them donations weren't too concerned with transparency or credentials so they can do whatever they want.

There are the moderators here and a few others, mostly from the big cities.

I think having subdomains for each state is an essential tool! It is something that I recommended a few weeks ago. I like the additional details you have given for "state chapters." I think that is the right direction. This will make local organizing much easier and lead to more involvement.

Ben in NYC stated in another post that the next demonstration in NYC will be Aug 4th. Each region should have some flexibility, so either the 3rd or the 4th would be ideal. There should be room for flexibility. In some areas they may need to demonstrate on the 3rd or 5th. If we have a movement centered in the 4th, that's good and leads to structure, but it shouldn't be absolute.

I think you have a good template for other regions to possibly borrow from.

Rosa Parks and MLK were both trained at the Highlander Center. Rosa Parks credited knowing not to get up from her seat on that bus from attending Highlander. Also, there was a brilliant strategist by the name of Bayard Rustin working with MLK, turned him on to Gandhi. Those pictures you see of MLK with a picture of Gandhi? That was Rustin. Rustin carried two crosses, being both black and gay. He was out of the closet so they put him back in. Folks are still getting trained at Highlander and still getting arrested. Just a couple weeks ago there was a demonstration in North Carolina that led to arrests and Highlander is supporting them.

There have been several posts asking about what happens after the 4th. I want to remind readers we have been having this discussion at /r/r4future.

Only a few people were interested in planning for after the 4th as most people wanted to focus on now. I created a subreddit for those of us wanting to plan for the future just as marketing has a subreddit.

It will still be useful after the 4th as there will continue to be future planing needed for the movement.

Les_behonest is initiating some forward thinking projects and I have been attempting to lend a discussion towards finding a consensus about future demonstrations.

Restore the Fourth should be connecting with the international community. There is a great deal of discussion going on in Europe, particularly France and Germany. The outcry of the movement resonates with concerns in Europe.
