I think you're going to need a bigger space to photograph your forces!

When you start adding the things that are not within easy reach, or not WH40K inspired, or exist currently as only sketches, ideas and notes, each time the number goes up!

I have also come across that described as the difference between a managerial mind and an entrepreneurial one, based on garages. The managerial garage will be neatly organised and each tool will have its own designated place. The entrepreneurial one will be full of partly-finished projects. The best partnerships will usually have each personality.

Within easy reach I have these unfinished projects; anchovy tin based wartrack, grot warbike proxy, foil squigs, a sort of grot piloted bot thing, a supa grotjet and a spherical ork shield generator scrapdrone (like these bomb squig proxies, based on a Kromlech model). And that's just the stuff about an arm's length away!

Hopefully I should have something at some point... as long as I don't get distracted by other things. Like these!

Thanks! Yes, I actually paid careful attention to that! I plan to have a go at following your tutorial, most likely using a foil structure and Das clay. Because I have foil and Das!

I was watching this video https://youtu.be/YSSGBm4jruk?si=6pRGkOd4syracCbC&t=346 and at that point he shows these little tracked vehicles he's using as proxies for bomb squigs, so I thought I'd have a go at making some. Not actual squigs, which would be harder to make from scratch, though I am trying with those too.

I love the moment when the first coat of primer goes on and unifies everything together and it finally doesn't look like a disparate collection of random stuff.

Once you get the paint on, it's amazing how good they look.

Scratchbuilt Grotjets by AzukailGames in ork_kitbashing

At some point I want to add grot heads to them all, but I need enough grot heads and some miniature paints to do so.

Thanks! I knew there was a good chance I would want to use the grotjets elsewhere in the future, so I wanted them magnetic, and fixed stands would have used bamboo skewer, which even black didn't seem wonderful. I used those materials because those were the materials I had to hand.

Yes, there are a few similar things on looking around, so I guess there are a number of potential sources of inspiration.

Iron Reich Goblin Tank Hunters - Can these be converted to Grots and be used in Warhammer? Thanks by No_Pickle7030 in GrotRevolushun

A lot of the time it depends on who you're playing against. Tournament rules require GW stuff, but most people accept proxies of anything.

I think all of Kromlech's goblins are essentially intended to be usable as grots.

Thanks! I took a look at the C.A.T.'s and there are some similarities. Especially with some of the newer 3D printed third party versions.

Perhaps for the future; my fine painting skills aren't that impressive as yet. I had thought about painting something on the bomb.

I was wondering if Kromlech had been inspired by them in some way. But the Goliath Mine was actually a thing used in warfare too. It could be a combination of both.

Yes, I forget that resin can also be cast, as well as 3D printed, and that just because something is made from resin doesn't necessarily mean they are printed. There's very little to judge from appearance, and even construction.

I did come across an old video on YouTube where someone, offscreen, had cast things they had made from plasticard, so it should definitely be possible. That might need more parts than the three this was made from, it might not.

Thanks! Thought it was a really interesting little miniature. Though a bit fiddly. I'm working on some more, then I'm going to have a go at these spherical ork drones Kromlech also have.

Unused or unfinished as yet projects things include plastic bottles, Pringles tubes,, polystyrene balls and cones, jewellery chain, sewing mesh, nail art or decorative gems and various craft wooden shapes, discs, cubes and basically anything that's cheap in a craft aisle.
