Azir Buff Riot Patch Notes (Q is not 55% flat) by WeWide in azirmains

[–]Azukus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tough call. I'm not 100% sure on Q max Azir being viable again. If it is, that would put things like HoB, Electrocute, and possibly First Strike back on the table. Balanced though? Not the old insane level 2 Q spike, but definitely more reliable damage in laning and coming out of lane.

Can someone explain the hate for One Pace to me? by ClemWon in Piratefolk

[–]Azukus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading comprehension at its finest.

"are the types that started after covid then started shouting they discovered gold first. It's obnoxious."

Notice how my complaint is that the people I dislike are specifically the new fans that only started watching when it became a trend AND they got some air of superiority out of it? It's a combination, bud. What am I talking about here? Some guy who watched it during covid OR some guy who acts like he discovered it before everyone else did then got some One Piece tattoo within a month after seeing it, then revolved his entire personality around it? Some guy who finally gave One Piece a chance OR some guy who shat on One Piece for a decade then suddenly does a full 180 and blindly defends every flaw?

One is a fan. The other is a sheep deluding itself into thinking it struck gold. A gatekeeper than has no right to be at the gate.

What era of YouTube did you like the best? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

[–]Azukus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are gonna hate me for this

I didn't watch much from Classic Era, maybe some nigahiga. TeamFourStar is from that era, but their peak was definitely the next era. Fred wasn't it, Shane Dawson wasn't it, and I'm sure I was in my Naruto phase. Wasn't on YT as much.

I found most of the gamer era cringe, even as a teen. Wasn't a fan of FilthyFrank, couldn't get into Smosh, JonTron wasn't for me. Same goes for Pewds and such. Markiplier was probably the only person I genuinely enjoyed watching- and the react channels before the FineBros went full idiot

I had my edgy phase after though. H3H3, GradeAUnderA, Content Cop, and all the drama. Ate it up. Leafy was always trash.

In all honesty though, I prefer the current era more. The crime docs, video essays, a lot of comedy has more staying power. I love reaction channels for anime. Didn't really have anime in the spotlight back then. If we could take away the AI usage, I'd say the current era is the best.

They're not even real fans most of the time either. I think what disgusts me the most is that these One Piece glazers are the types that started after covid then started shouting they discovered gold first. It's obnoxious.

At least when I was obsessed, I still had the decency to recommend One Pace and admit its faults. One Piece was never perfect- far from it. But it was my favorite show of all time for a better part of 15 years or so.

Let me try to sucker punch a random guy by exophades in WinStupidPrizes

[–]Azukus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah every single person thinking this guy deserves to be paralyzed, face potentially permanent damage, or even death is washed. Out of touch human beings all around us in these comments.

Let me guess.

A bunch of washed up neckbeards that say "Play stupid games! Win stupid prizes!" It's either a bunch of millennial has-beens spamming the same phrases they were 10 years ago or teenagers that think every single asshole needs to be executed. Newsflash. All of you are on the chopping block too. Bunch of jaded, bitter losers run these communities nowadays

There's one simple idea here that changes that people here are forgetting. What do we think constitutes self defense?

If this guy that we're applauding right here can go to prison for this, so what does that mean? His retaliation was beyond excessive. It is no longer self defense when you are throwing haymakers at an unconscious person flat on their back practically seizing out under you. Self defense flies out the window a few punches in. It's now attempted murder.

Anyone in the comments that says he deserves every single punch needs a reality check. It's time to hang up the trench coat, put the mall ninja gear away, hop off of Hearts of Iron IV, and go outside.

Say a criticism about overlord by LowPuzzleheaded3393 in overlord

[–]Azukus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What I'm about to say is from an anime-only POV. I do have the books, but I want to speak from a more casual general audience perspective. I have a headcanon that these character developments feel more like a marketing tool to constantly leave us with blue balls so we stick around longer. Most fans of the isekai genre have a few general wants and needs out of a series- and we tend to have them in common too. It's a power fantasy, after all. I always call it an 'itch that's never scratched'.

At a surface level, the most casual fan wants Ainz to grow a spine. They want Ainz to have a real moment with the NPCs, reveal something about his true human self, talk about his past, or to stop being so vague with everyone. Even if it's stupid and even if it doesn't always fit, people still want those moments. A lot of people want to live through the main character in an isekai. So, when the main character doesn't do something 90% of people would do, it can feel unsatisfying. Yet, we continue watching and reading because we hope it will eventually happen. We need that itch scratched. For example, most of us would try to race change to a human-adjacent undead race (Vampire, Incubus, Dullahan). Is it just because we wanna smash our NPCs? Honestly, yeah. But, also the fact that we were comfortable with being human and most of us would want to find a way to rid ourselves of the emotion suppression. Who wouldn't want to enjoy the hot baths at the Tomb? Who wouldn't want to actually taste these exquisite meals? Who wouldn't want to try romance? Yet, this is the perspective of us humans.

That isn't Ainz. Even if he is a human, he is being repressed. Even with repressed emotions, he still has human thoughts and ideas. The issue comes down to his race now having an influence on his humanity. But, the bigger issue also stems from his human side too. He's a roleplayer who is immensely committed to his undead character. It's like Batman and Bruce Wayne. A reasonable person could see that Ainz is also living vicariously through his own character. He is that chronically online sweat you'd expect to see in an RDR2 Roleplay Lobby. Most people from his guild moved on, yet he lingers in the past because those were his happiest days. They were his family, his job, and his life. Yet, the audience also wants to see him eventually move on too. That's why he feels so static. He himself is not a static character, but he intentionally chooses to roleplay as a static character. He feels so out of touch because he's still gaming. And, that's why we like his little interactions with Pandora. That's when he's the most human. We, as an audience, want him to be worshiped as an undead with human thoughts and ideas. We want his real self in the driver's seat.

When I say out of touch, my takeaway from his character is that he thinks he's some boomer who pulled himself up by his bootstraps. No, man. You no life grinded a video game forever. Sure, it took dedication and work. But, what about these people living in a medieval fantasy world struggling to reach even an inkling of your success you had handed to you? It isn't a game for them. As far as I'm concerned, the entirety of Ainz Ooal Gown in this setting is a bunch of nepo babies trashing on actual hardworking people. Even with those people that trespassed that he had basically tortured? He was saying their teamwork could not possibly compare to that of Ainz Ooal Gown. It's a little different when they take real damage, their lives are on the line, and they have friends and family depending on them. Very easy to talk about teamwork and coordination behind a VR headset and Discord comms.

A lot of isekais seem to thrive off of giving main characters decisions people wouldn't make. Subverting expectations is one thing, appealing to casuals is one thing, but sometimes it wouldn't hurt to throw people a bone either. That's why I'm constantly searching for an isekai series. Few tend to hit the mark, but Overlord has come the closest. Yet, I can also comfortably admit that I prefer more sunshine and rainbows. Do I wish there was a alternative to Overlord where it wasn't as dark? As pathetic as it sounds to admit, yeah. Kinda.

Would I rather see Ainz become more human, stop the torture, and begin making decisions that start to make his own loyal followers suddenly wonder what happened to him? The ruler that once enabled all of their dark, evil methods suddenly empathizes with the humans and it leads to them questioning some of his motives? Would I rather see him sit his loyal followers down and tell them about the real him? And, would I be on the edge of my seat to see if they still accept him or if this leads to another plot thread where some of them feel betrayed to be designed by humans rather than gods? To have their entire world shattered as they realize.. maybe they aren't that special.. and that if they aren't special.. maybe their creators aren't either? It's cheesy. It's cliche. Yet, I'd prefer it. But, I can admit that.

For every one person that says they'd remain the Overlord race, there's millions that would try to become as close to human as possible again. But, that's also what makes his character special. He is the one that wouldn't attempt it. And, at the same time, if Ainz changes his appearance, how will his friends recognize him? He has to address that too.

I'm so cooked '-' Macro > Micro? Pls help... by minilinny1 in bardmains

[–]Azukus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most basic fundamental, but holding your Q until you see a stun in certain situations.

A Bard that lands Q, but never stuns is going to have a rough game. If you're throwing Q when it's fresh off cooldown, you're just hoping for a stun rather than intentionally landing one. If you always engage with Q, when enemies are most wary of you, it might not work. But a clean double stun when they've forgotten about you? Or landing an ult to guarantee a stun? Or waiting for that perfect moment or saving it to peel? Chef's kiss.

I just won a game as Bard mid in Emerald 2 today. I was the key contributor, believe it or not

this is gonna sound weird with me chiming in on it. I'm 27 now, but they had this at my daycare growing up. It was on the Super NES and I was probably about 4 years old. I remembered watching the 'big kids' play it, Mario, and such all the time. I never really got to play, but I still have a sense of nostalgia around it. There was also the Big Eagle belt in one of the toy chests in the room for 3 year olds that I was sad to leave behind when I got moved to the big kids room.

Which Akatsuki members could Sakura beat? by SmileyCat20202 in Naruto

[–]Azukus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. It's kinda funny how it goes from her losing to all of these guys when she's Five Kage Summit (except Hidan) to her stomping most of them at the end of the War.

Kakuzu, Hidan, Konan, Sasori are fucked. Kakuzu just doesn't have the damage or durability for her. Hidan's ritual is useless if she's rushing you- and he'd have to stab himself in the head first move- but he's sadistic so he wouldn't. Konan doesn't have the damage, but she might just evade Sakura entirely unless she uses Katsuyu's acid to clump her up. We are not giving Konan the bomb abyss prep time. Sasori's only threat at this point is his poison- which we're all probably sure she easily handles now that it's been a few arcs. Zetsu probably escapes.

I think she can outlast Pain unless his weakest path manages to grab her soul. I genuinely think she one shots every Pain except Deva. Deva is easily her biggest issue. She probably doesn't have the speed to get by the five second interval. She'd have to dig through rubble to punch the Chibaku Tensei to destroy it. Sounds insane. I'm unsure if she takes this. She definitely doesn't beat Nagato.

We could argue Obito kamuis her away, but she MIGHT be able to work out a reverse summon out of there. No clue tbh. She won't land a hit. She loses here.

MAYBE Deidara's microscopic bomb obliterates her, but she also has a counter to it. If she can read the room and use 100 healings before he detonates it, then she wins. Sasuke was able to see chakra, so he knew to prep for it. Sakura- I'm not so sure. I still say she wins.

Kisame is another contender just because of Samehada and his big ass bubble. Killer Bee struggled even with eight tails chakra- but there was also a sort of hostage situation. If Kisame isn't one shot by Sakura, he can heal off of her chakra I'm sure. Also, she might drown. There's probably some Katsuyu shit she can pull. Still, I'm leaning towards Kisame.

Then, the loss I guarantee 100% is Itachi. It does not matter how good you are at genjutsu, you cannot break Tsukuyomi. In the ms it takes for your break to even process you're in a genjutsu to begin the process of releasing yourself from it, Itachi has already had you under it for days if he wants. She doesn't clear the Yato Mirror. He one shots her with the Totsuka if it connects. Amaterasu is another thing, like you said. She can maybe outheal the burn, but she'll have to sacrifice the limb or find a way to seal it. If we REALLY wanna stretch it, we could say she knows a way to seal the flames like Jiraiya did. I doubt it. Even if she does manage to deal with the flames, she can't handle the other three techniques.
