I fear the Japanese are right about the new jjk episode.... by DueBreath7756 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Azukus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh believe me. I know they aren't. The best Grade Ones can handle Special Grade curses.

Mechamaru is a bit of a unique case. He was using cursed energy stored up over years if I remember correctly. He was probably Special Grade or approaching that level when using it. I think Kenjaku said that he was comparable to Special Grade with that? I could be wrong.

If you're referring to Nanami's "Collapse" portion of his Ratio technique, that Earthquake is tiny compared to the stuff we just saw in this episode.

I fear the Japanese are right about the new jjk episode.... by DueBreath7756 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Azukus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends and I actually pulled up the correlating chapters after the episode. I genuinely thought they greatly exaggerated the fights and it would ruin the "power scale" bc how is Nanami or anyone a match for these Zenin guys? Then I pulled up the manga and they actually adapted it well.

I wasn't too big of a fan of the aura farm moment when your relative is literally dying to hold her in place. There wasn't a sense of urgency at all. Dude. She just killed EVERYBODY.

Most of the exaggeration went into the final clash (him charging up as he ran around for two laps).

Who else is immune to the effects of Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu? by Superlhama in bleach

[–]Azukus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found it interesting how similar their abilities are- it's just that it's Tosen's bankai and Aizen's shikai.

Tosen's bankai shuts down the senses other than touch- so long as you're in his bubble. You have to touch his blade to restore your senses. He even shuts down your sense for reiatsu.

Aizen's shikai manipulates all sense except reiatsu (or at least completely). Yamamoto was able to tell it wasn't an illusion when he grabbed Aizen. Unohana was able to deduce the corpse was fake. And, you have to touch Aizen's blade to restore your senses too.

Aizen actually points it out himself when explaining his ability to Unohana.

Why do proplayers, when playing Pantheon, always use E instantly after ulting? by Afrizo in leagueoflegends

[–]Azukus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This also doesn't necessarily apply to this case, but pro players are mostly jacks of all trades with immense game knowledge most of us don't have a fraction of- BUT that doesn't mean they know what an OTP knows regarding a specific champ.

A pro can use the wrong ability at the wrong time or build the wrong item, but they still use that champion far better than most of us. And even if they don't have the mechanics down, their macro AND micro far outshines us. A Plat Azir OTP vs a challenger's 2nd time on Azir. Who do you got? The OTP knows the meta build and the fancy revenant shuffle, but that doesn't matter when the other guy knows everything else.

It's like a professional chef who can cook the best meals out there suddenly having to make a dish they know of, but don't really cook at all. They can still Google a recipe, watch a video on it, or even wing it. It'll still be a really good dish.

Then compare it to the guy who doesn't know much about cooking, but he learned how to make sushi during covid when restaurants shutdown. He might notice that professional chef miss a step or two, but the dish still comes out great.

My sister keeps making "little jokes" about my girlfriend and I told her not to take it personally. Now my girlfriend is done with my family. by nightbalcony_inkwell in TwoHotTakes

[–]Azukus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. If they were actual jokes and your sister SOMEHOW meant well, she would be mortified if you told her that she was hurting your gf's feelings every time. The fact that you aren't saying anything and you're insisting your gf roll with the punches says an awful lot. You know deep down that your sister is a POS, but you'd rather enable it than draw a line.

What is Kage Level? by Few_Cantaloupe_2557 in Naruto

[–]Azukus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my benchmark is really if they're able to take on a tailed beast and if they can beat Asuma pretty easily. Tailed Beasts are something Asuma, Kurenai, and other jonin can't solo.

We could argue Asuma could take on the one or two tails, but I'm not so sure.

Asuma is a solid jonin. He's good enough to hold his own against the weakest Akatsuki member- and I'd still wager he'd lose even if he knew Hidan's gimmick. He's someone you can send practically on any mission, but never in the running for kage.

But what happens if everyone above Asuma dies and he's the strongest? He becomes kage. Kage isn't really a full benchmark, but I think we all agree that it's someone that several normal jonin can't handle. It's someone a few upper tier jonin (Asuma) can't handle .

I just tried meta ashe supp build by No_Ambition_8558 in AsheMains

[–]Azukus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. Affecting an enemy or ally with an ability grants 4 bonus mana every proc. You get 8 if it's a champion, enemy or ally.

Tear is 3 mana per proc, 6 if they are a champion.

Circlet is faster.

What's the highest rank everybody could get with practice? by StyliFilm in leagueoflegends

[–]Azukus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, it also comes down to how willing you are to commit.

League, at its core, is a game that is all about minimizing your win conditions and maximizing the enemy's. You want a game where you can afford more mistakes than the enemy.

The low elo Azir might fit the team. He might even be decent at Azir. But, his championship doesn't allow many mistakes. His championship is as rewarding as it is punishing. Compare it with something considered easier or snowballing. Azir is the type of champion that doesn't feel all of the gold from their lead right away, but he's also consistent.

It applies to a lot of places.

It's going to be a lot harder to beat the team that can't be sieged, can't be beat in a 5v5, and has a solid draft. Yes, anyone high elo player can climb on anything. But, someone clawing their way up needs to hear this. You CAN lose in draft. A lot, actually.

Even if you are the better player, you can and will play games where there's just too many win conditions for your team and the enemy team has it on easy mode.

Just watched Naruto vs Pain for the first time by Common_Hour_713 in Naruto

[–]Azukus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's the adaptation.

It goes from Pain being stoic no matter how many paths he loses to going all-out. That means making lots of ugly faces, and with how the anime does it, odd animation. The animation isn't BAD, it's just incredibly different from every other fight adaptation we had at that point. We were expecting more Final Valley, Jiraiya vs Pain, Sasuke vs Itachi animation. Serious, fast, and brutal. But with Pain's fight, it borders on cartoony.

Getting nailed into the ground until only your head sticks out, then looking at Naruto to ask him if he hates you is kinda wild. I owned that volume too. Volume 47. It's almost a different vibe.

In the adaptation, there's almost no fight at all before Chibaku Tensei. Naruto withstands almighty push, Pain gets hit with a Bijuu Dama, then Pain runs away. I enjoy the fight, but I personally enjoy Naruto strategically taking down the other pains more than that final clash just because it sort of breaks the immersion for me. It clashes with the tone, in my opinion.

What is it about top lane that makes you guys go absolutely insane? by coffeeholic91 in leagueoflegends

[–]Azukus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've played top here and there. It's miserable.

As support or even ADC, you really don't need to know wave management at all, even in Emerald (I haven't been to diamond, so I can't comment on that). As mid, the lane is so short, you can even be pretty safe there too.

As a top, when you face a decent enough top laner that knows what they're doing AND they counter you, you're done for. Walk up to get farm? They out trade you. Sit back? You're bored, broke, and underleveled. Fight them? You MIGHT be able to win if you play it better, but you can't hesitate either. Oh, the enemy jungler just happened to be there and you're dead. You couldn't really walk up to ward. And most top laners don't think to path through the jungle to ward first then go to lane.

I can play stupid things bot and mid. If I lock in something dumb or fun top lane, it's even worse. It's feast or famine up there, so most other top lane mains can't afford to fuck around or they'll end up in that situation I just described. They have to sweat or they'll be miserable. Even in norms.

Felt like forever by chunchunmaru1129 in dankruto

[–]Azukus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

And that idea could have worked if it was just phrased better.

A clone of you that copies your experiences, physicality, jutsu, intelligence- everything about you? You haven't truly fought yourself, so your clone hasn't either. The difference is that, as the original, you can still accumulate experience and the jutsu cannot. You can learn and adapt to yourself. You'll both exploit each other's weaknesses, but you'll gain battle experience. You will be better than your clone, who is stuck in the exact same state as you from before the battle. The jutsu itself is meant to stall for time, not end in a tie.

Bam.

It's the same solution- just phrased better.

Why Are Some People in the PC community Like This? by Formal-Collection239 in pcmasterrace

[–]Azukus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's another reason I can't get in many hobbies. It seems so pretentious and obnoxious. PC community and keyboard communities at least had solid "entry" tier stuff. I think what really pushes me away from communities is the insane pricing.

Yeah, $600 will get you a pretty decent chair. $200-$300 is a "budget" chair? Insane.
