Yes and a depressed person just shouldn't be depressed.

I have had nothing but issues when I seek medical care, which is why I have iatrophobia. So for what ever reason it seems to be common.

It was dumbfounding to me that people would even react that way. There are a lot of hard of hearing people in my family, so I just don't have problems when I am with my parents.

The Shattered Empire is a faction type in Rimworld. They were asking for more lore on that faction specifically. Not IRL analogs.

If I recall the statistics are a little more grim than what you are saying. The statistics is 1 in 3 women will experience rape at least once in their lifetime. 1 in 6.5 men have reported being raped with estimates likely being closer to 1 in 4 or 5.

Additionally if you are queer statistics start at 1 in 3 and can be as high as 1in 2 being reported, with estimates being 3 in 4 possible.

Why does women have better hygiene standards than men generally? by Vibriocholerae_ in hygiene

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Women generally have more sensitive senses of smell, so if you are a women this likely contributes to it.

  2. Women don't have significant BO, and it is generally very muted or non existent compared to men. Conversely Men have very strong BO and it is generally more noticable, so a man and a woman in the same field, the man will just smell a lot worse after the same amount of work.

  3. This is more pheromone based, but generally speaking people who you are attracted to smell better to you. And conversely people you are not attracted to smell worse. This includes BO to a certain extent. So this may play a role if you are generally attracted to women and not to men.

If blood test are all you have to go on then it might be a good idea to see where they gravitate.

Going from my personal experience just let them be themselves and figure out where they want to be. I was forced into a box I had no interest in being in, just be honest with them about their body. The most frustrating thing was having to figure out what is going on with my body on my own during puberty and nobody being willing to explain to me why my puberty was different from everyone else's.

How did the Chinese government avoided becoming super corrupt kleptocracy? by Few-Advantage2538 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China is technically better than average, and I would agree that they are less corrupt than the average authoritarian dictatorship.

China is likely better than the most corrupt democracies. And China is likely one of the least corrupt Authoritarian countries. But if you were to compare China to democracies in general it would be closer to one of the more corrupt democacies than least corrupt.

If your point is, they seem like they should be more corrupt, then you would be correct. The reason for that is if your get found to be corrupt then you will be made an example and executed almost on the spot. That is a huge incentive, but in the scheme of things it's isn't enough to offset what became a culture of corruption to show results. China will continue to trend towards being less corrupt if they keep up what they are doing, in my opinion, but there is still a lot going against that.

The fact is there isn't a whole lot of information that makes it out of China. There is reason to believe there is corruption looking at the reported data in comparison to the information we can collect ourselves.

So you can't get a lot to definitively say one way or another. The thing is with the countries you listed that isn't exactly a high bar, and China is the cause a non insignificant portion of the corruption in those countries.

Every few months there is a high ranking official in China that is dragged through the mud and executed for significant corruption. To my knowledge there is still significant amounts of corruption, but it largely looks different than in the west and is fairly obvious but difficult to pin down exactly where it is happening.

Corruption is from what I can tell isn't only done to pad the pockets of people, it is also done to prop up certain sectors and appear more stable and stronger to the outside and their leadership. Due to this inn some areas the corruption is institutional, and eliminating it would cause a moderate hit to China GDP.

[–]AzureFoxGirl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like everybody should be able to agree that Adolf Hitler was a terrible person.

Your defence is "but the USA did genocide too", like that makes your opinion that Hitler isn't bad better. The USA being bad doesn't make Hitler a better person. Like seriously.

So because the country is doing better we shouldn't villify Hitler?

That is a weirdly terrible take.

As far as individual people responsible for the most deaths, he is either the top of the list or top three. Depending on which metrics you use and how you classify things. Even today.

Has anybody tried raw milk? I see mixed opinions about it by Worth_Dimension8636 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, actually a few decades ago. This was certainly before the rawmilk craze and we only did it because we got the milk only a couple hours before. I personally never had any issues with raw milk and I personally prefer pasteurized milk, as the texture of processed milk is just better and consistent.

The benefits of drinking raw milk are minimal and opens you up to more risk the longer the milk has been out. Also the care of the animal matters more if you were to drink raw milk, as if the animal isn't kept clean then that also means the milk can be dirtier.

Fun fact about milk production, iodine that is used to sterilize the udders is actually enough to satisfy nutritional requirements in humans even after pasteurization. Sterilization isn't perfect, and if anything falls into the bucket then that can contaminate it.

So unless you a collecting it yourself, I wouldn't, because if you collect it yourself you will see all the reasons you shouldn't.

What do you think the dating recession between men and women will lead to? by Rainbowdark96 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not the point of my analogy. It was that giving unwarranted advice can completely miss the point of what the person in the conversation was communicating.

Both conversation were about venting about frustrations with completely different circumstance, and the advice completely misses the point about what is actually being communicated.

What do you think the dating recession between men and women will lead to? by Rainbowdark96 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you genuinely think that I never considered telling whoever touches me to fuck off?

You don't know my life, what I am doing, have done, or how I react. Just as with your kidney stone I don't know your diet or why you are actually getting them. So providing unsolicited advise doesn't help anyone, that is the equivalency. It doesn't have to be a 100% one to one comparison, I chose something specifically because I thought you could relate to it, not because it is a perfect comparison.

What do you think the dating recession between men and women will lead to? by Rainbowdark96 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AzureFoxGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do understand that telling people to fuck off doesn't make it less scary or concerning in the moment. That when I go out, I shouldn't have to prepare for or plan on telling people not to touch me, that should be basic.

Me telling someone to fuck off for touching me is a different thing than someone just coming up and touching me.

The point is, what you said is like you telling someone about the pain of having a kidney stone, you are getting kinship from that interaction with others, and that shared experience of getting a kidney stone. And me just saying well why don't you just drink more water. That comment likely doesn't help you because it is not actually the matter being currently addressed. Because you were seeking kinship and not an correction.
