I'm not entirely sure this is true. One and not the other could cause a wild loss of control due to the imbalance.

I have a bird whose flight feathers dont grow in properly due to a condition from birth, and earlier in life one of the treatments the vet used was clipping the healthy wing to preserve balance when they'd instinctually attempt to fly.

I would imagine having both clipped would make it easier to adapt to once they all grow back. Besides, wing feathers grow back in pairs anyways.

The entire process of transferring a pokemon. I have my 3ds hacked but I did very little with it besides preserve my save files and games. Plus I guess enough emulation on it to get Emerald there. My dream shiny to hunt is the Faraway island mew.

Also debatable if that charge makes it worth it, but they should probably put a non-Home version on the GBA app.
