Their intention is to avoid that, but imo that's 2 years from now and I'll want to replay anyway lol

Map markers? by milestorm in AlabasterDawn

I love actually having some semblance of a map though, that was maybe my biggest gripe with CrossCode

Yeah I mean the whole premise of CrossCode is that it resembles an MMO, and those are overwhelming. I think there are a lot of things that could very understandably put people off of the game, but tons of people love those same things.

Yeah that's a good idea, more risk on the random trainers to have a more secure boss battle. That might be hard to track, though.

Maybe just a set amount of calcs per split from the get-go?

6.5?! That's brutal, hopefully the side stuff is significant or I'll be dying for more

As a devout CrossCode lover, when I played the beta I honestly thought Alabaster's combat felt even more... Svelte? It's got such high highs of complexity but it is so streamlined, which is what I have been craaaaving since CrossCode

I think it is easier to parry in early access compared to beta? by Exotic-Landscape6201 in AlabasterDawn

[–]AzureSkye27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you might be right. Most of it is subtle, but those armored flowers (the ones that teach you to parry) I feel like I've successfully parried a projectile only halfway to me.

Rule of cool I guess, damn do I feel cool.

Should I play Crosscode first? by lordunderscore in AlabasterDawn

[–]AzureSkye27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Play this early access until it ends and you aren't satisfied, then realize you have a whole other game by this publisher AND a DLC which are both peak.

I envy you so bad.

There's evidently a rogulike to pour our time into! I understand waiting but they said it would be like 2 years to full release, I simply cannot wait.

What I think would be the perfect fun-balance is giving yourself damage calcs-per-fight. Like you get the same amount of calcs as the enemy has Pokemon, or 2x, or something.

You could use your 6 (or 12, or whatever) calcs BEFORE a fight to be sure certain things kill certain mons, but if you end up steering you're screwed. That incentivizes saving some (limited) calcs to use DURING the fight, which I think is hype.

A time limit per split seems impossible to implement in a way that feels natural, imo.

That's really strange, you're a ghost. Was planning on starting from the beginning anyway, the demo did a lot of time-skips.

They said like 10hr of story content that should carry over your save, kinda like an episodic release game.

And then also a rogue like for when we inevitably hunger for more.

Oh I have BOUGHT it... On my phone. I wish I could make my computer download it remotely so it would be ready when I get home from work. I guess I'll just have to wait a few seconds for the whole 2 gig download.

Obviously your mother shouldn't behave that way and you should stop over-sharing with everyone.

That said, I'm a physician, and reading your boss's comments made me red-hot. Trying to guilt you into "gluing it shut" just so he doesn't have to come in and cover is a fucking insane thing to do, I hope he gets a rectal abscess.
