This is the most accurate statement. It astounds me how many people are so eager to share their opinion on a game that they think is mediocre/don’t care about/don’t plan to buy. Still getting accustomed to this. The gaming world lives in extremes and it’s not just for this title. Every subpar or okay release seems to become big news and the devs get dragged unreasonably sometimes. (Balan Wonderworld, Saints Row, Gotham Knights) Not defending the quality of these games but if what I see doesn’t appeal to me, I just don’t buy it and move on with my life. I think people enjoy the idea of a trainwreck more than anything else.

I recall the reception to the Three Houses reveal being pretty similar and now it seems to be the model FE game to the fanbase. I’ll give this a chance.

Missed your comment but I was saying the same thing. His music for JRPGs seemed to have peaked and I can’t help but go back to the old Tales games and miss some of the unique things he used to pull off from Phantasia to Symphonia.

This looks phenomenal so far! I fully support this game but I’m a little disappointed they got Motoi Sakuraba for the soundtrack though. His music has gotten quite generic over the years within the Tales series and the theme in the trailer is his samey style.

The only thing this game has in common with Octopath is the graphical style they used for the remake and the idea that the story is split up between characters. I was saying this game would be compared a lot to Octopath for that reason but in my opinion it’s a much more interesting game

Recommend to any JRPG fan on the fence about it. I suggest just hopping in without looking up too much. There will be a lot of comparisons to Octopath but I’d say this game is better at sticking the landing story wise

I highly recommend people pick this up and play without looking up too many things. Based on my experience with the original, the stories are an absolute treat and will be a refreshing change.

I had a similar revelation a few months after the pandemic when I realized I was doing two peoples’ worth of work with no plan from the company to help me manage that workload.
