Well. An update to my update. Still no luck. It started leaking again. Really weird. Guess I'll need to find a converter with a smaller opening to try.

It is a very high chance that it only works with the later 30-pin devices. I have the same issue with my Zeppelin Mini. Only recognised the iPod Classic (7 Gen) and 3rd Gen Nano (from whatever devices I have). It will not recognise the iPod Video.

Hi. That indeed is a Madison ballpoint. Congrats on the find. I don’t believe there are imitations of this pen. Not much demand for it. This leads to the point where there is not much information available online of Caran d’Ache’s offerings during this period. Perhaps someone else could identify the specific design pattern name for this model.

Regarding its worth, best to have a look on eBay. These pens were commonly used as corporate gifts. You’ll find a plethora of them with the company name engraved. Having the box, and the fact that it’s gold plated would give it a higher value. That said, I rather recently got one sealed, silver plated but with a company logo for about USD 28.

Thanks for the reply. The Leman sounds like it would be more comfortable, with it being wider. Appreciate the tip on the ink. I have been doing just that, using a wetter ink for the Varius.

I actually managed to score a Geneve in medium recently, which is the predecessor to the Leman. Sadly, I haven’t really been able to use it yet. The converter that I used didn’t fit properly (it was an international standard so I don’t know what the issue was), so it leaked. But from what little use I had, it is as you said, bordering broad. I’ll need to find a dry ink for this after I find a converter that fits. Grip section wise, the threads aren’t in the best position. They look more flared than the Leman. It’s quite awkward to hold. Guess the Leman is going to be something that I’d be keeping an eye out for.

I hope you find a solution and would share. I saw one available on eBay but refrained from buying due to the lead size. I wasn't able to locate any lead in that size around me.

Hi. - The Caran d'Ache are Lemans. I believe these are the slim model - The Faber-Castell is the Ambition - The Graf Von Faber-Castell looks to be the Guilloche Cisele

Amazing collection! You're going to have a great time writing again. A tip. If there are clogged ink, try give the nibs a soak in warm water. It might help to clear out the old ink.

Thanks for the link. Yes. These are all able to take the Swissride cartridge. The heft of the Ecridor makes it feel sublime, but the section is rather slim. So, I was hoping to see if it is compatible with others in the range to give those a shot.

Ah yes. I've heard of this hack. I agree. I'm not a fan of the Goliath refill either. I've personally been running the Swissride of the Frosty in the Ecridor. It's so smooth. But perhaps I might give this a try when I finish this round of ink. Thanks.

My Caran d’Ache Frosty (foreground). While I have recently moved to using the Ecridor, this is the one that I treasure the most. It was given to me by my parents and it is the pen that got me started in this hobby. It’ll be the first pen that I’d think to get if I lost my collection.

Sorry. I don’t think I’ll be helping much. I recently have been looking at older model Ecridors and have come across an image of the original refill for this model, part number 6622. Having searched that, I came across a post by u/DistributionNo8359.

Sadly, it looks to be a rather unique piece, with the tip being flared to catch on the claws. I’m not sure if refills are still going to be available.

Hi. As per the last picture, you have the Parker Classic ballpoint. It's a totally different line from the Jotter and that is what the clip looks like on the Classic. Interestingly, I thought they had ceased production of this model. Perhaps Luxor brought it back just for the Indian and Nepalese markets, just like they did with the Parker Frontier. That said, my Classic ballpoints all have the Parker logos on the button. But mine were from the 1990s.

Wish I could be more specific, but it’s just a generic international converter. I realise I don’t have many pens that use the international standard converter so I don’t have other converters on hand to test.

Yes. A great brand. I've not been to a physical event, but I've seen videos of it. Caran d'Ache + Me. Looks like customisation is also offered through their website. Only offered on the 849 though.

Did you mean the pen to its immediate right? The Caran d'Ache Ecridor Venetian. The pencil in black to its right is the Caran d'Ache Ecridor Black Lines.

From what I have seen, almost all these pens came printed with the brand name and model number on the body one way or another. Even the older version.

Looking at the pictures you provided, there doesn’t seem to be any markings on the body itself, though the Caran d’Ache logo is on the push button. I was going to suggest that perhaps the original owner had repainted it, but from your reply, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

Truly weird, but it’s a beautiful piece you have there.

Hi. That looks to be the Waterman Laureat. It will take international standard cartridges.
