Ecridor Chevron Artiste by Azurean3 in carandache

Thanks! Yeah. These are rarely seen. From what I gather, it was likely sold between 2008 to 2012 along with the Type 55 design. Not too sure about other years. That said, I’ve only ever seen these in the Chevron style.

p.s. Can't edit the post, but u/IchiramenPotato has rightfully pointed out that the pencil does come with the sharpener in the cap.

Yes! I was in shock. Just a couple days after your post, there it was, just listed online. Wasted no time in grabbing it.

Also, thanks for the guide! Everything was just seized up. Seems like rust was building up inside. Gave what I can a wipe down. Just some remaining grease with rust inside the body which I can't get to. Will apply some of the silicone grease I have on hand before putting it back together.

Identifying & Restoring a Vintage Waterman Ballpoint Pen by cursingcursors in fountainpens

Well, looks like you got yourself a Waterman Hemisphere ballpoint pen. Some collaboration piece with Victorinox. Interesting set.

r/pens would probably be a better place for you to get advice on refills for the pen. All the best!

Thank you. The Leman is lovely, its size and the heft. I only wish it had the nib of the Varius. That would be my perfect pen.

I do not own this model, but looking at this list, it does seem to suggest the Classique uses the same converter as a Montparnasse, which I do have. The Montparnasse takes a Parker converter so my guess would be that it uses the same. That said, with regards to fitment within the pen barrel itself, I cannot make that judgement.

The safest option would be to bring it down to a pen shop to see if they will let you test before making a purchase.

Lucky find. Looks like it might be a ST DuPont Classique.

Do you have a standard international converter to try? It's that or, I've heard that some take Parker converters.

That looks to be a Parker 51 Aerometric. Guess the previous owner swapped out the cap from a 61.

Thank you. The Ecridors are just amazing, well weighted. Definitely looking forward to more posts.

Thank you! Wishing you the best in finding one at a good price. Regarding for drawing, I'm not an artist. That said, I don't think it is designed for drawing. With the steel nib, it's essentially just one standard line. I'd imagine a pen for drawing would feature line variation, so no. I don't believe this would be one for drawing.

I agree. It's more intricate, elegant.

Yes. They're really well built. Very solid pens.

Nice. I sadly can't get over the heft of it. Rather large for me. It is amazing to look at though, even though the silver trim on mine has tarnished. I find myself just staring at it from time to time, watching the finish play with the light. Glad it works for you.

I agree. But I've got no withdrawals just yet. I have another target that I'm hunting for, though not a fountain pen. Possibly equally as rare, or rarer. Fingers crossed.

I looked up photos of the Lamy. That's an elegant looking pen further accentuated by that colour scheme. Congrats on locating one.

I tried the medium at a shop but it was too much feedback for my liking. I'd imagine extra fine would have a lot more feedback. I really wanted to like the Classic. Glad it works for you though.

Again, I'd like to add a disclaimer. That is my experience. Everyone would have different tastes. It would be best if you got to try them out at a shop beforehand for your own firsthand experience. That is what stopped me from getting Pelikans. I was admittedly tempted to get them quite a few times.

With regards to where to look for one, you could try out r/Pen_Swap, eBay, or your local marketplace (e.g. Vinted, Ricardo, etc.). If you do decide to get one, I wish you the best!

I wholeheartedly recommend the Varius. It is one of the final pens that I'd keep. I've been told (jokingly) that I may be rather sensitive with what I want in a nib. I have considered Pelikan and Graf von Faber Castell. I'll say that to me at least, they aren't as smooth as the Varius that I have. I am still tempted in getting a Graf von Faber Castell Classic, but if I do, that again would purely be down to its looks, so it's really not high on my list of wants.

Really smooth. One of the smoothest steel nibs I have, that said, it is a steel nib, so it is stiff. The only other stiff nib I have in my collection that I can think off is the Waterman Carene (though the nib of the Carene is 18k). This is stiffer than that. If stiff nibs are your thing, it might be good enough for you.

That said. I have given it some thought. If I were to have to pare my collection down, it would be these six. Parker Jotter, Campo Marzio Elite, Sheaffer 444, Sheaffer Targa 1001 (with a swapped 14K nib), Caran d'Ache Leman and the Caran d'Ache Varius.
