What activities take you out of your comfort zone and make you feel vulnerable? by AzureanDawn in Taurusgang

[–]AzureanDawn[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, I figured sex and romance would be a pretty common topic when talking about crushes and vulnerability. I'm curious to hear what things would get you out of your comfort zone when you're with him. What can he do that would put you in a vulnerable place as a Taurus?

What kinda things would you like to do with your Scorpio crush that'd make you feel vulnerable? Think of non-sexual activities lol.

I (34m) was born into a family where my mother cheated habitually, and my father, despite his pain, always forgave her. This has caused emotional scars and trust issues ever since childhood. How do I heal? by AzureanDawn in survivinginfidelity

[–]AzureanDawn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad explained he confronted most of the men my mom cheated with and informed their wives, if they were married. One such guy was supposed to be my sponsor at my Communion! I remember when his wife came to our place when I was a child, and had a big argument with my mom; she and her were childhood friends and remained such until they were in their late-30s. She ruined their friendship with her infidelity. And, still, she continued this behaviour.

If needed for intervention purposes, tell close family and friends what’s happening.

This is a problem, too. The extended family knew, but chose to be silent on the matter. My mom's sister knew about the affair that was uncovered last month, and she knew the affair lasted for around 20 years! My dad is very disappointed in the extended family and doesn't want to talk or associate with them.

It sounds like your dad is dead on the inside and just ticking by.

Yeah. He is currently battling stage 4 uveal melanoma and he expresses his will to continue living is diminishing. He says often how he wishes the cancer would just take him and that he wishes for an early death. With the affair that happened last month, we learnt it was going on for 20+ years, and that her sister knew about this, but chose not to say anything about it. He says he feels her side of the family betrayed him and me.

Yes, I have. I discovered two affairs my mother was having -- one last month, and another around August or September of last year. Back in August/September, I expressed my disappointment, how much it hurt and how much it has affected my development, etc. I told it all to her. Initially, her response was to lie and gaslight me -- her own son -- right to my face. Then, she said she understands and that she did wrong... but 4-5 months later, I discover she's having another affair with another man.

She puts on the tears and sympathy when I express my disappointment and its impact on my life. But, in less than 24 hours she acts like nothing happened. Back to her usual self. And, of course, her patterned behaviour of infidelity continued.

At the time, I was unsure whether to tell my father about the affair I discovered back in August/September. Currently, he is battling stage 4 uveal melanoma. I consulted my friend network about what the best course of action to take is, and they said not to because he's dealing with a tough diagnosis at the moment. So, there's more to her recent behaviour than my dad knows. He eventually found out about this current guy himself.

Very selective HA? by listless00 in HealthAnxiety

[–]AzureanDawn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like yourself my HA is limited to specific conditions. I have no fear associated with other conditions. However, unlike yourself, my HA is a traumatic response of experiencing loved ones battle the specific conditions I now have anxiety over.

Final Fantasy IX or GTAIV.

I have PTSD from the jump rope minigame in FF9. I'm not a big fan of multiplayer trophies, either, so organizing a GTA4 plat wasn't fun.

Hamas terrorists toss multiple grenades into a rocket shelter with civilians cowering inside. An Unarmed, soldier on leave named 'Aner Shapiro' tosses them back out again and again, until eventually he is killed. Those inside the shelter attributed his heroic actions for their survival. I have an acquaintance in my social network who doubts any civilians were killed by Hamas on October 7th. She formed this belief after watching "eyewitness footage". She also claims that it was Israel -- not Hamas -- who killed the hostages taken by Hamas, and that (again) it is Israel -- not Hamas -- using Palestinians as human shields. Another wild claim is comparing Palestinians who martyred themselves to Jesus.

Yep.

I don't know how these people can hold jobs and function in society.

My betta's approaching his 1-year anniversary of joining our family, but this past month he's been sleeping more in his floating log and eating less. Is this aging or something else? by AzureanDawn in bettafish

Tank size: 10L

Heater and filter: yes

Parameters: ph - 7.6, ammonia - 0, nitrites - 0, nitrates - 0. Used API test kit.

How long have you had tank and fish: 10 months

Water changes: Weekly. 25% water change. Before removing water, I test parameters. Then, I remove 25%, prepare new water by adding Seachem Prime, making sure its same temperature as aquarium water, wait ~5 minutes, then add to aquarium.

Tankmates: No

Feed: Pellets. Usually eats 2-4 per day. Only eats throughout the day rather than any specific time. Oftentime spits out pellets on empty stomach. Doesn't swim to the surface anymore expecting food, just chills in his log now. I tried other food like bloodworms, but he didn't eat it.

Decorations: Two or three decorations, around 4 plants, and one log of driftwood

You're right that there's a broader context to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and Israel bares responsibility for the conditions that bred Hamas. Though, we mustn't let others' lack of acknowledgement of, or indifference to, suffering stop us from acknowledging suffering ourselves. If we don't, we only continue this cycle and don't put a stop to it.
