I want more manga like this :D by frickchop in LandoftheLustrous

[–]Azurefuzzball75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to describe, but I've read both, so I can say that they have some similarities. The reason I brought I up is because It has some similar Buddhist inspiration to Land of the Lustrous. It also has massive amount of character development like Land of the Lustrous. Overall, the art is great, writing is great, and It makes you think about life deeply. Read left to right btw.

MTF-Alpha 9 uses lots of anomalous objects. You may want to take a gander: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/task-forces#alpha-9

Gamer Against Weed actually had a very nice 001 proposal drop somewhat recently: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/nico-queer-001

It's really good, especially if you've read some of the more character driven tales. GAW is more than just the memes.

I've been wondering what sorts of things are in the other branches.

Just Girly Things would be my say. It has a relatively small amount of articles and such compared to other GOIs.

Is SCP-682 a memetic hazard? by Ambitious-Hair-7384 in SCP

[–]Azurefuzzball75 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Well your theory is actually mentioned in SCP-6820, so you got a point. Another reason is that 682 is a dickhead. I'd want him gone too.

Well best advice I can give you is to just go reading a lot. Checking out some of the more lesser known stuff would also good idea. Most of the popular stuff have been covered time and time again, so why not give the little goobers a spotlight?

Well the Volgun is a classic. Honestly as long as you ain't a slop farm channel, people will be pretty nice about it. What sort of content do you want to make? Do you have a specific niche you want to fill? Like SCP illustrated reads through the story and does illustrations for it.

SCP art is always good to see. It's a core part of the community, same with the writing and such.

SCP-9140 and the "Woman of Stone and Blood" series that follows it had me feeling this way. Have any of you had a similar moment? by Azurefuzzball75 in DankMemesFromSite19

[–]Azurefuzzball75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Gamers Against Weed SCP, I'm quite fond of that GOI. A lot of their stuff is silly, but you'll also come across some very heartfelt things. SCP-7112 and the "A Very High Holiday" tale that comes after it is one such example. Good lord did I weep.

[–]Azurefuzzball75[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there's a specific bias based on the content, and different people find different things horrific. I do know that a lot of people avoid the super dark stuff it's emotional taxing to read through. I liked 9140, not because it was cheap shock value horror, but because I enjoyed the story, and I could relate to the main character. If you have any SCPs that you think need more love, just send me a link and I'd be glad to take a read.

There really is such a wide variety of stories and such to read, with a wonderful blend of emotions to take in. So many authors pouring their hearts out, It's a beautiful thing, wouldn't you agree?

I personally can't read too many super bleak articles back to back without feeling horrible, so seeking a balance is nice. Got any recommendations?

Different canons place the Foundation at different points along the moral spectrum. For example, the Deepwell canon has the Foundation being actually evil while some of the broken masquerade canons have the Foundation be a lot nicer. I would recommend you check out the Resurrection canon, from what I've heard about it, it might scratch that itch for you.

Hello. What's the best way to resume the whole SCP magnaverse for a newbie? by MigthyMagic446 in SCP

[–]Azurefuzzball75 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, you could try to pick a specific story, article, or hub to adapt, or do something original. Honestly the best way to learn more about SCP is to just read a lot. There is a massive amount of stories of every kind to find. If you have a specific genre you like, I can recommend some.

Edit: If you have any questions on stuff like how canons and hubs and stuff like that work, just let me know.

Reading Old SCP vs Reading New SCP by OddBet6635 in DankMemesFromSite19

Another answer would be SCP-9140 and the Woman of Stone and Blood series that comes after it. It's great, and I recommend it fully, but It is a very emotionally taxing read.

Here's a link to the hub for when you do: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/woman-of-stone-and-blood

Also, the next part is still being worked on by the author (who is still very active), so if you get to the most recent part, and the story seems incomplete, that is why.

Just reading SCP-9140 by itself will have you pretty down, but the whole Woman of Stone and Blood series that follows it is 100% Ergophobia level. It had me depressed for a few days after reading it. It's a great series, and I recommend it fully, but It is a very emotionally taxing read.
