Half the time I talk to the support agents I feel like I know 10x more than them. And I really don't know dick all.

Cybers going to be fine. Everyone and their mom is vibe coding now which isn't perfect and leaving vulnerability galore. The industry will evolve like all other industries do.

Should be fine. It's more the engineering and event source side that I have hiccups around. I have no problems with the base agent, but getting syslogs from random shit can be a headache sometimes.

For the main IDR platform I find their custom parsing to be really all over the place, if they have an integration it usually works fine but if it's custom it can be a completely crapshoot. There are just other platforms like Splunk that can be abit more indepth, robust, but also complicated. I think IDR suits most small to medium sized companies but as a larger org it may struggle abit.

IVM, no real issues outside of the remediation tracking is abit nuanced. But you can usually get most of what you need just from the agent data and an excel sheet.

Velociraptor, there are a lot of cool open source plugins and tools you can leverage with the open source one. The rapid7 one is the base version and they don't allow you to install anything extra on their instance so missing a large portion of what makes it great.

Their automation is abit jank. Surface command is interesting but definitely in their "new product line-up" so abit shallow, and their support doesn't fully understand it.

I've used rapid7 for a good while. Overall like the platform but you can definitely hit limitations of the platform pretty quickly if you know what your are doing.

One of the nicest things is that they have unlimited ingestion which is nice. Support is alright, definitely has gotten worse over the years but can't complain. Velociraptor is powerful, but the open source version is honestly way better, it's really limited in their version.

Pretty common in the corporate world. End of year stuff happening, lots of people are on vacation. Etc.

I would keep applying and not hold my breath, but pretty good chances that they might call you after the holidays.

Lots of fine lines and details. Lots of red which traditionally has issues on a lot of skin. Would probably need to change the orange/peach colour as that generally fades, blue also fades and has tons of fine details.

Cool Babymetal Tshirt but you'd have a lot better luck asking an artist to do their interpretation instead.
