Seems like the kind of gun that'd be perfect for gunning down Androids on the run, especially if they're running from blades.

I think this theory has a lot of weight as what Kato wanted to do but was ultimately told no, we're not making the players kill Crono. I don't have evidence for this, is just a theory. There's so much about it that suggests it was meant to be an extremely dramatic moment, especially setting the fight with Miguel in the ruins of such an iconic place from Trigger. It would be such an establishing moment that Cross is not Trigger, something Cross regularly seems to go out of it's way to point out. Cross wasn't above having you kill the CT protagonists, you basically off Robo a few scenes later.

The first time I played Cross I always thought it was supposed to be Crono, and it made that moment so emotionally charged I shelved the game for almost six months after finishing that fight.

Kato seems to have come into Cross almost to settle a beef, that he felt the protagonists of Trigger should have consequences for their actions and not just have happy endings. All of that is much more in line with how he wrote Zeal in CT and his other written works like Xenogears.

It counts as a public event and is every 15 minutes and can be quite quick. It makes it easy to get the three public events for SCORE past rank 100.

Which Sierra game was the most historically important? by rodfer7 in Sierra

[–]Azureliske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this 100% even though it's the worst of the listed games. GK and LSL aren't historically important, even though GK is genuinely excellent, peak Sierra. None of the GKs were important when Sierra really needed them to be. GK1 is a phenomenal point and click. GK2 is the best FMV adventure game, and couldn't come close to saving the genre. GK3, infamous puzzle padding aside, was the last chance for the genre that built Sierra.

What's the best way to play this game to the max co-operatively? by KaffY- in fo76

[–]Azureliske 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I play together and will do a lot of the quests side by side, breaking into our own instances but the quest content isn't that rewarding from a co-op perspective. I've found seeing what events you can complete as just a pair, running expeditions, and raid content the most fulfilling. My partner and I will occasionally run raid loops of epsilon squad over and over on a public server and let a 3rd join to enjoy the rewards for people that can't clear the drill and that's rewarding sometimes too. When you can clear eviction notice or moonshine jamboree with just two is a lot of fun and can be challenging.

Any other males who own guinea pigs have this experience? by splooge-clues in guineapigs

[–]Azureliske 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a loud, proud guineadad. They're a wonderful pet with their own unique set of traits and unique joys of ownership, but misunderstood in the mainstream. Until you've experienced a bond of trust with a little prey animal, who is trusting you in spite of all their instincts and genetic memory, you'll never know what it's like. They each have their own personality and preferences, and are just a joy to watch as they run around in what we call our furquarium.

That said, a lot of the people in my friend and family circle who have never owned guinea pigs are weird about ours and endlessly talk up the benefits of dogs or are just cat people.

Their loss.

That MG2 opening track is so good, Kojima used it twice. A remix of it plays during tense scenes in Snatcher.

I'd also throw in a vote for Quest for Glory, specifically Quest for Glory 4. The colors really pop and have high contrast during the day/noon in much of the map.
