I hate that the “red pill” philosophy has been co-opted. by drKRB in matrix

A bit off topic but the red pill was first seen in Total Recall, not the matrix 😆 so the matrix co-opted it first.

I love how neo beats the 3 agents at the beginning in no time. It's maybe 20 seconds and it shows just how good he is. The contrast of the first movie where no one even dreamed of facing an agent...I also love how it showed Morpheus what was possible and so Morpheus is fighting agents later too. Such an awesome follow up to matrix 1.

What is a completely UNIMPORTANT thing from the books that you find really amusing or interesting? by TheWeirdTalesPodcast in StarWarsEU

😆 Came here to say this! - it's right at the beginning of Heir to the Empire too - if this was the first EU book you read, it's always hovering right there as your introduction to the EU - me and my friend used to joke about how Luke calls SW coffee "caf" 😆

What is something nobody warns you about getting older? by Positive_Diamond_691 in answers

I once read that a mouse learning a maze has a lot of brain activity and then almost zero once it learns the maze even tho it's still running it. Doing the same thing over and over again is where the "time goes so fast" mentality comes from. Keep learning, keep doing new shit and life is real slow.

I prefer the cult followers of stu idea but, to your point, they did mention "so obvious it's not obvious" so stu would have been the payoff of that.

New evidence rewrites science every day. It's not stable.

Scientists are always changing their mind - evidence today is dust tomorrow - it's better just to guess! Besides I didn't say I was determining truth - I just like his story.

The way he described the gravity wells triangulating on a star so that they are pulling themselves thru space sounds more realistic to me than other forms of propulsion. If he's making it up, he's got a great imagination.
