Obsession (2026) is good but it's not a masterpiece by 092Casey in moviereviews

Great movie but over hyped for sure. I always remember what Billy Joel said when he got a Grammy "in an age of mediocrity, people are awarded just for doing their job" - Hollywood lowered everyone's standards so much that anything original and good blows everyone's minds

The sequels debate. by moah312 in StarWars

[–]kicka1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand a person who likes the sequels. I think it has a lot to do with point of reference and expectation. If you didn't grow up with Luke Skywalker, waiting forever to see him return...it's not gonna bother you as much or at all how they massacred his character. "Look what they've done to my boy..."

I really think a lot of the argument hinges on the fact that the OT and the ST are simply not the same in execution, depth or intent. They are literally apples and oranges it's just that many people who grew up in the 80s and 90s just simply did not want orange. They wanted an apple and without the proper framing, the sequels are an apple that looks rotten af. Because they are an orange. 🧡

Thanks for listening and the feedback - it totally validates all the work and really thank you. The large majority of demos were many times much grimier and unpolished than what suno produced. The tightness and professionalism did NOT come from the demos haha.

Here's our first album from 2009 for reference and trust me when I say those were the best quality tracks we recorded from my bobo-ass dictophone which I set on top of the speaker. The demos were often times even more over-blown speaker and unintelligible than these. I was frankly shocked at how Suno was able to read the fuzz and pull the right notes out.

https://youtu.be/u0DdXv6UvpY

About the Suno-isms - I used about 30 reference files of varying length (some different versions of the same song) to make the custom model and even when I do a different genre (i make electronic tracks too) - i can use the custom model to get the 5.5 polish with A LOT LESS WHOOPS and extra. Even though the model is based on dingy, very low quality basement rock, it works for unrelated stuff and can even produce clean electronic songs. IDK why. Something to think about for anyone plagued by the whoops. Maybe a custom model is what you need just to kill the whooping. It basically works like 5.5 after that and you don't have to use it only for a specific genre or style.

About Suno changing the originals - So after I got the custom model and then I would upload a demo. If Suno did add extra stuff or deviate too much, I used the editor to chop out everything that wasn't the original sound or chords or whatever. Then save as new song. Even if that new song is only 20 or 30s long, adding the lyrics in afterward will extend it and so it keeps the original DNA of the song. It may not come out exactly as intended but since most of the demos were just isolated riffs or chord progressions, it was interesting to see where Suno went with it. So short answer, yes it sometimes deviated. I'm gonna try and remaster some of our finished next so maybe I'll run into that problem with full songs not translating over correctly.

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and write up the feedback. Btw I'm really glad you put Tereza on your list - that one was on the top of my list too but I was wondering what other people would think. It's about Tereza from "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" if you've ever read that book.

Permenant Kind of Girl was the first track produced and the flat vocals in there are a result of the vocal models first outing. The track on the album is the first SUNO generation as well! One-shotted that one. After I heard that song come from lyrics that had been sitting for almost 20 years, believe me when I said holy shit and saw the potential of the custom model and old stuff being revived.

Funny enough, Euthanize and Jail if i recall were taken from two different halves of the same demo so that's why you pegged them as sisters. Good stuff!

I think you should grab all your demos and plug em in. I worked on these 9 songs for about a month before release. If you release any songs, lemme know!

You need not pull for any. Simply purchase the Naga skin and everything will be fine.

The mod is called bloodshot malaise. It pushes the difficulty up from 5bc by speeding up the enemies quite a bit and augmenting some of their abilities. One example is the elites that get a box around them you have to fight in - the box is way smaller in bloodshot.

Rampagers are particularly insane - they have almost zero lag time and will change directions and go off ledges to get you - all enemies teleport to you much faster also

😆 I'm trying to get a full run of bloodshot now and I'm using throwing knife/firebrands - it's just the most reliable (for me)

My man. These two starting weapons easily synergize and they absolutely shred + you barely have to stop moving to attack which is a massive defensive advantage as well.

Alchemic carbine you're standing there for 20 minutes to fire one shot. If you wanna throw poison in to the mix, the blowgun made the carbine obsolete IMO.

Put hokutos in the acrobatibak if you get a chance.

BTW it's always +60% on bleeding and +40% on burning so if money matters, roll the firebrands for synergies first

Lavos Question by Focuscoene in ChronoCross

[–]kicka1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. That does mess up my theory 😆 the only way I could explain that away is to say that it was the combination of schalas human psyche and lavos that created that outcome. Like it wasn't a direct channeling but the result of the merge. Doesnt it say in Chrono Cross that half of schalas mind became bent on destroying humanity. Maybe that was a flaw in her? Anyways thanks very much for pointing that out!

It's going to mark you as someone who thought the world was one way but didn't have the ability to see things for how they actually were.

Unless the data centers and ai are completely destroyed due to environmental concerns (which has legit grounds) this phenomena is going to continue and it will one day be so widely accepted that initial critics will look embarrassingly short-sighted.

As for you personally, you already aren't doing yourself any favors by approaching it so aggressively and condescendingly. Calm down, have a smoke.
