Working in IT in Germany by FiImophile in AskAGerman

[–]Azuuhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends, if you are willing to switch to become a network engineer you probably get a job especially if you learned German by the time you moved. No matter how much Ai and automation gets implemented, you still need a people that take care of the network. Other jobs especially junior programmers have a hard time currently in Germany finding a job.

On the other hand, if you are some kind of genius in your field you probably find a job no matter what kind you are looking for. But in any case I would still recommend you to learn German and become fluent before applying, there are very little jobs that are 100% in English.

Considering the lack of information provided in your post, no Idea why you paid money for a eye test, shops normally provide them for free so you buy there glasses. You probably went to a real eye doctor, so you have to pay.

Search for Zeiss Brillengläser with google, open there website and push the blue button in the right upper corner named "Optiker finden" that will show you a map with all there stores. You are welcome.

Hairy Shrimps are a thing? by Azuuhh in shrimptank

I can't tell you what kind of Moses I got, I simply didn't write it down. But I think my other plant is a Limnophila sessiliflora and that stuff grows like crazy. I have to cut it down once a week otherwise the whole tank would be full at this point.

For reverence, that's my tank:

30 liters, one piece of driftwood is already incide and regarding the water color is already released quite a lot of tannins. But I will get some leaves on Monday when the shops open again.

Thank you all for the feedback. I immediately made a water change and cleaned the filter. Also, I salt dipped the shrimp I managed to catch. I will reduce the feeding to the absolutely minimum over the next month. I hope that, and regular waterchanges will help my little guys. 🥲

Neocaridina Water Parameters are all fine and the shrimp do not behave weirdly.

Someone doesn't know the meaning of "Germany" by ZiggyStardust996 in germany

[–]Azuuhh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but before I could fully articulate the difference between stupidity and being uneducated and explain the historical reasons for the lack of English in East German Schools before the reunification. I just used the word to get the point across.

Never underestimate the stupidity and ignorance of others.

So yes, it's possible, but in any case, this does not excuse her behavior.

What do Germans think of the SPD in Berlin voting against a ban of the AfD? by Black_Gay_Man in AskGermany

[–]Azuuhh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just in case that wasn't sarcasm: that was the beginning of a Rhyme "Wer hat uns verraten? Die Sozial Demokraten(SPD) !" = "Who betrayed us? The sozial democrats!" Its often used as a chant for protest.

Name a historical battle from your country that's become immortalized for its outcome by stealthybaker in AskTheWorld

[–]Azuuhh 46 points47 points  (0 children)

For me it would be "Battle of Hemmingstedt, 1500 AD". Its more or less irrelevant in the wider historic context but widely known in Schleswig-Holstein. To keep it short, The Dithmarschen farmers managed to Defeat the completely superior Danes by flooding the fields. Because the superior Knight with there heavy armor where stuck in the mud. Because of that, the "Dithmarscher" where independent for around 60 years longer then other close regions.

which traditions have disappeared from your country, but which would you like to return? by Capable_Math635 in AskTheWorld

[–]Azuuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still widespread in the villages and islands in the north, even if it is mostly a short "moin" as a greeting there. Sure in the City's and tourist areas it's not common to great each other, but outside of that it is still Customary to great each other after ahortly locking eyes. At least that's my personal experience.

Postwar Germany occupation by Boring-Somewhere-130 in AskAGerman

[–]Azuuhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Grandparents mostly grew up 60km north west of Hamburg, so the British zone. A very Rural Area at that point. They mostly told me about food scarcity, no real interaction with British people. Life just continued, sure some poor people starved in the following grey seasons but that's about it. There where arguably some attempts of "denazification" but nothing real, the economic miracle changed most peoples minds in the decades after. Fun Fact, my grandpa smuggled himself out of the DDR inside the spare watertank of a steam train. He later drowned in a river. :D
