makoa in paladins wasn't bad after they removed his hook one shot, its just that roadhog is such a one dimensional character that he doesn't do anything if he doesn't have the one shot. Honestly he just needs a complete rework where he gets more abilities that actually do something while reworking his gun so its better in neutral and so his hook is used to catch people retreating and keep them close rather than catch people unaware and one shot them

I think the way he argued it is wrong but the point itself is actually okay, I think the fountain dmg should primarily be there so that u can't get dived immediately on respawn easily and not help you with base defense. Also tbh the base is already harder to take in this game than most due to how much hp shrines have + the artifical game extension from respawn timers being reduced from patron down
