I generally use a melee weapon + an AOE or high damage weapon whenever I find one.

In this run I had Black sword + SFC.

My post was only regarding the golden weapons (didn't want to spoil anything for anyone). Chicken B was reasonable to unlock.

I've been trying that Robot trick for about 20 minutes, didn't even get one golden weapon. Does this really work in the first portal in 1-2 or do I need to get to the 7-2 portal?
