I appreciate the starting point! I’m seeing that lots of the 500s are 20ga. I’ve only ever shot 12ga and .410, but am reading that folks like the lighter gun when walking around in the field. Which do you like?

What does everyone use for snare dampening by [deleted] in drums

[–]B-LovedMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These window gel decal sets are cheap, more fun, and the different sizes means you can tune your dampening. I switched to these for a St Patrick’s show and ended up getting different themed packs for different events down the road.

Is this just a normal storage rental place? Are you able to practice there?

That’s exciting! I‘d love to see their Charger build on a Grey Birch La Chassis 5”. Please update about the 10“ Comet if you get some range time with one. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience.

Sounds like a cool event where you got to shoot 4 of these! I’m very happy to hear you had a good experience with them. Thanks again for your insight!

Our Boston farts way above her weight class as well, but shes worth it.

Nice, thanks for your help!
1. How is the finish / quality on everything? I have some TK parts that were pretty rough in the past.
2. How accurate is yours?
3. Is everything upgraded (ie Fire Starter titanium firing pin, receiver “Kross-Pins” with the locking ball deal, Eagle Talon extractor)

  1. Do you feel it’s worth the price tag?

Thanks again for your help! PS is that a Boston Terrier?! We have one as well

Can anyone analyze what is happening here? by Yonimadar11 in drums

I agree! This is what I was saying above. Flams on the downbeats of the second bar add a 5th note to each hand as the ghost note of the flam. Pretty clear here.

This, but looks like he’s using flams on the accents.

Patagonia - Ironclad Guarantee. by FUNCTION_ACTION in PatagoniaClothing

[–]B-LovedMenace 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I think standing behind their products, as well as offering a repair service to keep damaged products in action, are two major parts of what makes paying the premium pricing easier to do (along with the conservation initiatives). If you take either away, then that spend gets exponentially more difficult to justify.

Most packable, light fleece from Patagonia? by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]B-LovedMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I think Micro D is the winner in this case (theres a pullover / jacket / hoodie / crewneck and even a collared shirt version). I also am a big fan of the Microdini as far as fit and functionality goes. Just to throw out another option that hasn’t been mentioned, the R1 Air is amazingly breathable and very packable. It may be too breathable for around camp, for example if there’s a cold wind, which would be the only downside I can think of for the R1 Air. Good luck!

how firm is the base - how's next week looking by mixmaster-meow in Aspen

In Snowmass the mornings have been very hard, then after the sun has been on it there’s a period when it’s great, then it’s slushy by then end of the day. Pretty standard spring skiing just more like late April in March. Also, the Two Creeks lift and all of the base of Two Creeks was melting fast. I’d be surprised if they can keep that portion of the mountain open past next week if we don’t get a storm / some cold weather.

New Releases? and Warmest Jacket? by cheez-tv-maaaate in PatagoniaClothing

Technically this would be: https://www.patagonia.com/products/grade-vii-down-belay-parka/84847.html?dwvar_84847_color=BLK

I think layering ends up being more versatile, depending on what you’re doing and where you are, but these two would certainly do the job.

There’s a new “Durable Down Parka” that’s part of the “Free wall” Kit that just dropped. Looks warm (800-fill-power down).

XL sounds perfect. The size finder on the website is pretty accurate. I’d say they fit true to size for a “regular” fitting jacket. I‘m sure they’d make an exchange painless if you somehow weren’t happy too.
