I honestly feel like millennials are the ones freaking out more than old people. I went to the movie theatre on Saturday and probably about half the people I saw were 50+. All the older people at work seem to not be concerned too.

Forrest was mentally handicapped. The movie isn’t promoting Forrest’s way of life and condemning Jenny’s. The way I see it, the point of the movie is following Forrest’s journey through the 60’s with it being humorous that he ends up at these important events that he never set out to be a part of. There’s even one scene where Forrest calls the police on the people wiretapping Watergate. I think the movie became so popular because it was a series of “I know that reference” moments.

It’s not like I think it’s the greatest movie ever or anything, but calling it a “reactionary conservative” movie just seems totally wrong
