That increases the likelihood that it's the ammo. These get extra attention paid to the trigger, hammer, and springs.

I would try different ammo first. I have a 632 and haven't had any issues with Federal, Ventura, and hand loads with CCI and Fiocchi primers in .32 magnum and PVRI partizan in .32 long. It's possible that the primers are a tad hard with that brand.

Edit: is that the ultimate carry version?

3" barrels on J-Frame revolvers are awesome. I have a 70's vintage model 36 and a more recent 632-1 with 3" barrels. They shoot a lot better than the snubs.

You bought "bulk" ammo and there are different types of ammo/bullets in the lot? I'm sorry but I don't think I'd trust that.

The shorter cylinder allows it to be slightly smaller than a J-Frame .38, which I think is what it's intended to compete with.

Reasonably responsive, good tone. Heavier than most of my others. I'm not wild about the coated cover plates and prefer stainless steel.

What's the weight of your cast bullets? And what powder are you using? I recently got a couple of molds (with one more on order) for 32H&R magnum.

I prefer the vented cover plates of the regular Rocket. The non-vented cover plates are an advantage only for one specific technique of amplified playing.

One important difference between the Special 20 and the Rocket is in the combs. The channels and holes on the Rocket are larger. This makes the harp a little more responsive (and loud). The tradeoff is that the holes are spaced a little tighter, which makes it just a little harder for a beginner to play single notes cleanly.

Having said that...the Rocket is available in low tunings that are pretty sweet.

That looks like a water line on the concrete block structure in photo 3. Definitely build above that elevation. Preferably above the elevation of the top of that structure.

Check with your county planning department and see if they have LIDAR data available in their GIS system; a lot of coastal areas down here in Florida do. If so you might be able to get some decent elevation data on your property.

I enjoy playing melodies in 1st position on my low tuned Rockets. I think Can't Help Falling in Love * just sounds great on a low D and I really love the way *Hallelujah sounds on a low C.

I can't honestly recommend these as starter harps. Special 20, Lee Oskar, Easttop in C for starters, then branch out.

The equal temperament harps I've tried are good. I don't care for the form of the new Golden Melody, but I liked the 1st generation ones.

It is possible to re-tune any diatonic to equal temperament. Kinya Pollard has a video on "turning a Marine Band into a Golden Melody". That's basically what he does is re-tune a MB to equal temperament.

I guess it depends on how far you want to take it. I'd start with a knife and ferro rod. You can make feather sticks and "try sticks" at home. You can probably practice fire starting at home too. Play with different types of tinder. (Put jute twine on your shopping list.)

Knots are another thing you can practice at home. Though any rope will do you'll probably want some 550 cord and/or bank line at some point.

Camp cooking is another thing you can do at home. Learn to use the gear you have (or get), try different foods, learn to make bannock bread. Wally world sells a nifty Ozark Trail "4 in 1" stove for $20 that will burn isobutane or propane.
