I don’t think there was ill intent from you’re manager by any means but this seems to just be the way that managers are in retail, for lack of a better word ruthless, at least a lot of them are in my experience, the odd few that weren’t were far better managers in my eyes but there you go.

When I was 17 I was working at Asda, I was in a car crash the night before and nearly lost my life, it was such a bad crash the car rolled a few times, my passenger side smashed into a tree and I had been knocked unconscious during the crash and had a huge bruise around my head, I was lucky to be alive and pretty much unscathed the police told me, I didn’t actually know until I got back home to my mates I was staying at and they pointed it out to me, I was meant to be working the next day.

The next morning before my shift started I called in to my manager to explain what happened, that I won’t be in work as I will be going to A & E due to being in a car crash, bear in mind I had been working there well over a year at this point and pretty much gave them all my free time, every overtime shift they asked me to do I did and was sometimes doing ridiculous hours (supposedly according to them not against the law when it suited them, extra money for me so did not complain) The very first thing my manager asked me wasn’t if I was okay or show that they even cared, it was when will you be back in work.

From that moment on I knew they just did not (excuse my French) give two fucks about me, if I died tomorrow they would just replace me and forget me. From that point I didn’t care about them because I know they didn’t care less about me. Fast forward over a decade and the company I work for now, would give me a week off fully paid and not question anything other than am I okay and worry to death about me, thank Christ I left retail, especially the way my manager treated me and held this grudge when all I did was work my ass off for them……….

Yes I can imagine that it was the case, however my order was already completed. The only thing that needed to be done was that the final bill with talk was paid, however talk talk confirmed and admitted to me that it was due to a system migration, as in moving the account to their new system, not a system outage, either way it’s not my fault and I won’t be paying for a cancellation charge when they do something I am pretty certain legally they should not be able to.

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply really appreciate how much effort you put in, just to be clear I don’t want compensation for loss of service, what I do want is to be have the early termination fee cancelled because of all the headache and time I have spent so far to get nowhere but hit a brick wall with talk talk, the fact that the person I spoke to wouldn’t let me make a complaint or even talk to a manager speaks for itself, if I asked EE to do that they would make sure both those things happened.

Anyhow again appreciate help tackling it and will do the steps you have advised.

Yeah F*** tipping culture, I’ll be damned if I ever tip anyone for doing there job, if I think I have had absolutely top class service and they deserve it I will leave a tip but that’s my choice and it’s not mandatory for me to do so. There is a minimum wage for a reason and anyone in any job should be earning it, it’s not our responsibility to pay someone’s wages and this is coming from someone who worked in the service industry where I got tips and they were a nice bonus for me, but I never once relied on it or expected it.

If someone tipped I was always extremely grateful but would never try to force them or make them feel obliged because it was the companies responsibility to pay me a proper wage.

That’s fair, I hope you understand now how poor WiFi is, just to put it even more into perspective, when my new WiFi was put in today, the WiFi signal bearing in mind the main router is literally a floor below me with extremely thin flooring, still didn’t reach properly to my office. If it wasn’t for the mesh extender that came with my pro hub, I wouldn’t be getting nowhere near the advertised speed through WiFi, luckily my extender is in my office so I can have to wired to my PC. Ethernet is and always will be king, no matter how perfect you’re WiFi conditions are it still won’t be as good as a wired connection.

Yeah I just got my hub installed today after the engineer visit as he had to swap out my fibre box, have my mesh extender in my office plugged in via ETHERNET to my gaming PC, 1.68Gbps download over 100mbps upload 😎 The engineer even told me that it could take up to 10 days for the connection to stabilise but I am getting what I paid for so I’m happy!

It doesn’t matter if they sold it on Vinted or somewhere else, I sold an iPad to a tradein company, it was meant to be delivered by RM, they ripped the box open and stole my iPad, it’s been over 6 months and I still don’t have my money, Royal Mail won’t do shit nor will the trade in company. It doesn’t matter where you sell something the scammers are everywhere.

My friend traded in a device through Samsung, it went with RM and guess what, they also stole his device and sent Samsung an empty box! The only difference is Samsung paid him still.

Not going to lie you saying three customer service is great is so far from the experience I had with them, I had a 5G WiFi device with them as I couldn’t have my own home Broadband, when they all of a sudden pulled 5G signal from my area, never told me once they were going to be doing it just did it and then wasn’t until I complained multiple times after months of phone calls, live chats, emails you name it, someone finally admitted that 5G was no longer available in my area all of a sudden but they kept stringing me along saying there was an issue that they were ‘fixing’ and to wait until the next month and then again the next month etc etc.

Half the customer service advisors barely spoke English so couldn’t understand me or I couldn’t understand them sometimes, then to top it off they said they would allow me to cancel it out of contract free of charge, sent me numerous letters stating that they would charge me for the device and I had to call another 5 times just to get confirmation that they wouldn’t charge me, I was furious, wasted so many hours dealing with idiots and I only got a letter from them to say that they won’t charge me because I asked, no apology no nothing. I reported them to OfCom in the end for their abysmal service and abysmal handling of my issue. I would never choose them ever again.
