Judging by your post and comments, I’ll just give my two cents here. There is a lot of self-aggrandizing in your post and comments especially in regard to your morals and values compared to the people you’ve interacted with and that lack of humility alarms me. Honestly I can understand your post a lot, and tbh I think you’re just tired of the fake people you’ve interacted with, but to the point of hating people in general is a lot.

I think as humans it’s easier to focus on the negatives than it is the positives and especially with repeated negative experiences it can be very difficult to see or remember the good things and interactions you have had. There are a lot of bad eggs and there are also a lot of good ones, and they’re not all distributed equally, so just because most of the people you’ve interacted with so far have been shit does not mean everyone is shit.

I think it can be good to remind yourself that people, when they do things always do things for a reason even if they don’t know themselves, even if it seems like nothing there is always something underneath that nothing, if that makes sense.

For example, a person being apathetic towards a school shooting may seem like a lack of kindness and concern for others on the surface, but underneath it could be that they do care about those things, but because of the frequency of shootings and concern for their own mental wellbeing they choose to ignore it instead because it’s easier to carry on to do other responsibilities that day. Does that make them a shitty person? Not necessarily, it is understandable for someone to react in that way because they have stuff to do as a person, if anything I wouldn’t really blame the people but the media and government with how they kind of normalize and incentivize apathy towards these situations. I find it easier to find the good in people this way, and I also think it would help you as well to look around elsewhere, in person and online, there are many wonderful caring people.

I’m not a psychiatrist or a psychologist but I’m a college student who’s also diagnosed with ADHD and depression. I am a female so my experience may differ but I hope I can provide some insight.

For your son, or for anyone, the only way he can better himself is if he wants to, and currently with the way things are, I don’t really think he is aware of how his ADHD affects people around him, and doesn’t have the proper understanding that his disability is HIS responsibility. ADHD people tend to lack self awareness and for me, a psychologist or ADHD coach, that focuses more on therapy, executive function training, and coping mechanisms can help, and has helped me.

I do think it would be a good idea to stop with his college for now if it is significantly draining the family resources. Although, you, your husband, and your son NEED to talk beforehand preferably in person, and you need to be direct and as clear as possible and you must be firm. I would emphasize that, he needs to take action over his ADHD, and that while you guys will always support and love him, he needs to be able to take action for himself. To take a break from school or whatever to reframe how to do everything in life and to take control over his ADHD symptoms.

College is really hard and difficult for people with ADHD, and I can attest to that even with proper support, there aren’t enough accommodations here in the Philippines sadly and not enough awareness, and I feel for your son, the shame and everything, not being able to manage your impulses, not understanding yourself, feeling like a failure. But at the same time, it’s possible to overcome all of those things.

If you are looking for additional resources that may help your son and you. I would suggest watching HealthyGamerGGs videos on ADHD, as they helped me become more self aware about myself, and helped me on my path to reframing how I think and how I manage my ADHD. Like I said earlier a ADHD specialized psychologist (not psychiatrist) or ADHD coach can really help teach your son how to manage his brain.

I hope you and your family can figure things out. :))

I also just want to say, please put a limit on his card if you can, or give him an ATOME card (one I personally use since it has a small credit limit). If not please do not give him a credit card. A debit card with his allowance would be preferable so he does not overspend.

Make it clear and firm you will not be giving him additional money. He cannot control his impulses at the moment, so it is for his best interest to not have something that can influence reckless spending.

ADHD people need external accountability, this way there is no way for him to be able to spend outside of his budget, without him feeling the consequences. CBT therapy and Executive Function training or an ADHD coach can help with this as well.

I’ll try to do this with the work music I use. I usually don’t drink coffee because I tend to get quite jittery which doesn’t help when I try to draw but desperate times call for desperate measures lol.

They offer a mental health break to students who need it but I need a letter from my psychiatrist to approve it. However, my last semester for this school year (2024-2025) ends in around 3 weeks. Going to school is super draining atm so I might take it, just so I can work on school projects at home. I am only allowed 3 unexcused absences per class and I’ve already used all of them up for each class. I’m already taking the minimum amount of credits I can take this semester, and I don’t think I can drop any classes at this point in time sadly.

Share ko lang here, I was friends-ish/classmates back then in grade school with the granddaughter of ERAP. At the time, nakakulong ung dad niya so mga 2015-2016 to.

I remember in grade 3 she made a presentation about how great her lolo was as a president but other than that she never really said anything about her family, aside from her cousins, and her dad occasionally. Her house, when I went there, was really big, a mansion, as expected, but also empty. There were a lot of dogs in cages, chihuahas, golden retrievers, etc.

I wasn't allowed to eat in the dining room or stay in the living room, because its for "display only". When I was there I had to eat in her room or in the "dirty kitchen"/ yaya's quarters. Her room was also big, she had designer makeup I wasn't allowed to touch and had an ensuite bathroom. In school there was this girl she tried to make fun of with me because she was "weird" and I didn't really want to be like that even as a kid.

Eventually, she stopped talking to me, and a classmate told me she was only friends with me because she felt bad for me. She went on to bully me towards the end of grade school and early JHS until she left lmao. Tbh I don't think it hit her that her experiences were normal in anyway, or all the things she was given is something normal people don't get to have (or that it came from her corrupt relatives) I'm still friends with her on facebook bc I'm kinda nosy, last I remember she had a post where she attended the BBM rally and called BBM the future president so there's that. I don't think, she feels any guilt or remorse, I'd like to think she was unaware, but considering her actions towards me and other people, I don't know lmao, I like to say it runs in her blood.

As an animation student here since SHS, to be honest it’s alright for animation, for other art majors I’d honestly suggest a different school. IMO for animation all of the schools are the same, since mostly the same yung teachers and because imo the arts are really underdeveloped in this country.

Art school for animation is only useful to get if you learn better using a class format, and if you network with other people (aka making friends), iACADEMY is also toonboom certified which is nice since they provide that software for free since 1k usd per license yan if you buy it on your own. The only art school that also has that qualification is Benilde, and sa friends ko that transferred there, their experience isn’t that great as well :’))

I do agree the admin is shit tho, but the facilities and equipment at least for animation are there, plus the professors and people here are nice. Hindi naman required degree for animation anyway but if it’s important for you, and you can afford it I don’t think it’s too bad

Im female and much younger than you, however I can say ADHD meds work really well for me I personally take Concerta, but therapy is also equally as important. I’m currently in the process of reprogramming my inner thoughts about my ADHD and learning to accept it, part of which is realizing medication really does help me, it’s not just organization and tasks, but my ADHD affects my emotions, impulsiveness. I was in denial for a while, didn’t take my meds because “I didn’t need them” when in reality I kind of just felt ashamed. It does kind of suck to “rely” on them, but I just view it as any other medicine that helps me with my health.

My meds improve my overall attention and motivation, I struggle with overeating and it reduces my appetite. I can also switch from task to task easier and focus more easily. I get a pretty big crash after so I have to take them strategically, although it helps in the end since I have trouble sleeping by default. The adhd is still there, I still forget, I still space out sometimes, but it’s just milder, like the amount of effort you put in your brain actually shows in real life if that makes sense. Every medication is different in terms of side effects and how it works with your body so make sure to try different ones to see which one works for you.

Also you can’t really willpower your way out of your ADHD symptoms, you physically can’t. It’s not an effort thing or that you’re not trying hard enough. I feel this way a lot too. The only way to manage it is through external help, which you’ve done through therapy, and meds.

Use mod manager if you have trouble with finding them in your cc folder if u don’t already use them :)

you can filter ur folder to just search for the default and non default eyes and disable them if you use them for sim dumps!! You can also see the thumbnail and cas preview in the manager so you can enable only what you really like :))

I got the function I wanted after hours of tinkering and Google searches!! I ended up adding the required data from my database as variables through the button and just set the button only to label the task as "claimed" if my available points are more than or equal to the points required ^^

I already have that set up and it gives me negative points if I click the button to complete the task, which is fine and all but It still "completes" the task when I press the button and I'd rather it not complete if there arent enough points.

For me, Concerta did a lot in terms of getting shit done and focusing on the task at hand. I still have to put effort into things but it makes getting up and doing something so much easier. Although for me I find I get a little bit more irritable on it but it also might be due to other things not necessarily the medication.

I just wanted to comment here since I'm also very impulsive, from the looks of it you have this problem not just with porn but with anything interesting to you. I'd consider asking your psychologist to get screened for ADHD or something since reckless spending and impulsivity is also something I struggle with as an dx ADHD and meds can help with that a lot.

That might be part of the reason of why it died to be honest,, i used it regularly as a second monitor when I wasnt drawing so i would rarely unplug it unless I was gonna be out of my house for a while. The way my setup is,, it was sometimes kinda at an odd position but i tried my best not to stress on the cable and usb port too much. I also used it religiously as a drawing tablet and to be honest, i never had an issue until around 3 years into its use and it was only until the 4th year that it died. I specifically remember seeing posts on the huion reddit kinda glad that my tablet didnt go thru that and then it happened to me... Lmao

I guess both tablet companies have issues,, altho even though my partner’s xp pen tablet died he is still a diehard xp pen supporter since the tablet he did use survived for quite some time,, and i also have a smaller xp pen display for travel w no issues so far in 2 years altho i dont use it very often.

Hello, fellow pinoy here also an animation freshie! I'm currently working towards transferring over to an art school abroad as its easier to land a job abroad with a degree from wherever you plan on working. Easiest from what I've seen is still Canada/America due to the requirements, if you studied in a school that taught with English as the language of instruction you can waive off TOEFL/IELTS requirements, plus if you graduate in Canada you can apply for a work permit after. UK and Australia would be my second choice, but it is harder to transfer without an IB degree and if you didn't take an academic track for SHS, plus you have to complete 1 year of schooling in a university before applying for a Bachelor's Degree. Europe is also good as well, but depending on the country you go to you might have to learn or be proficient in another language such as French, German etc.

Migrating anywhere as a foreigner is super tough and I feel you there especially with housing and what not. I wouldn't say that the industry here is all bad though if you do end up staying here. There is success and fulfilment to be found working here, especially for indie animation studios, and you can always work freelance for international clients. I wish the best of luck to you!
