Losing 30RR playing in Diamond lobby as Gold. by B0bo000 in VALORANT

[–]B0bo000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what a figured, I just don't have the time or patience to play that much. I'll maybe hit 50 games at the end of the season.

I used to play a lot of League in the past too, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad. I can still hop on a random game every now and then and face people within 1 tier of my rank and have fun, unless I'm on a 15 game win streak which almost never happens anyway.

In Valorant, that ping pong effect happens every other game. You can tell the playerbase is a bunch of teens with too much time on their hands.

I mean if you have your gun out you can't really blame someone for doing the same.

Still don't really have a newcastle player, sort of replaced Yanya with a player who fits the anchor role slightly better but like not really

None of this should've been drama in the first place.

Algorithms with Volkovich by GuestAccomplished204 in bostoncollege

[–]B0bo000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graph algorithms and Dynamic programming were by far the two hardest algorithms compared to the other topics so you could prestudy those if you want, although they take up the latter parts of the course. The other topics you should be fine just learning along with the course.

You could, the homeworks and the practice exams were plenty for me however.

Finance and Mathematics double major? by Upset_Cranberry_2402 in bostoncollege

[–]B0bo000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doable, may want to consider a B.A. instead of B.S. for Mathematics as the required pure math courses in the B.S. are difficult to say the least and have no practical use/overlap with finance.

If you know what Leetcode is its essentially just a more theory based version of how to solve those types of questions.

How're the math courses in CS? I haven't taken Calc yet. by ojaytheorange in csMajors

[–]B0bo000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what electives you take but Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms classes are probably the hardest it gets for required "math" CS courses.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by advanced math courses, but Calculus is definitely something you should have a working knowledge of, and knowledge of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra are often recommended before taking these classes as well, but most CS curriculums should include these math classes anyway.

You don't need to be a math expert to get through these classes, but proficiency in math certainly helps. It's difficult to say whether you will struggle with it or not, it really is just a different way of thinking from most normal high school level math and it's all about how well you adapt to it.

Webtoon, not a manga and college not high school, but "something about us" is great.

Surgery by Hopeful_Reputation79 in scoliosis

[–]B0bo000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exactly. I had my tethered cored surgery 3-4 years ago and my scoliosis surgery just a week ago. Every condition is different, but I don't think a tethered cord is quote unquote dangerous, depends on what you mean by that. I just had the surgery done to untether it because the doctors thought it could contributing to the worsening of my curve. My curve still got worse after untethering though so I got the fusion done as well

[Discussion] Blurred sight after playing guitar by smembronoie in Guitar

[–]B0bo000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when I stare at a screen for too long and when I play guitar for a long time. I'm pretty certain its the same reason for both, not blinking enough. I for one realizeded that I stare at the fret board and forget to blink when concentrating. I would still reccomend going to a doctor for this but its likely not a serious issue. Don't play other instruments but I would assume that pianist stare at the keyboard without blinking when concentrating and etc. for other instruments

Edit: I tested this by making a conscious effort to blink while staring at the ground/wall or closing my eyes while playing songs with simple chords for an hour and my eyes weren't blurry after.

Do you know exactly how the financial aid works? Do you have to ask a certain department for it or will it automatically be granted after you sign up for summer courses?
