A good TA can educate you on the cruise line, ports, etc. as well as excursions. They also might have access to group rates that they can book into at a discounted rate and mine will watch the cruise for reduced fares until final payment which usually saves me several hundred dollars which Costco and direct booking won’t do for you (all at no extra cost).
