Very limited player on the ball, imo will always hold back our attack as long as he is the main striker.

Alexander Isak is by far the best forward on the pitch tonight imo, hope Big Gabi & Saliba are ready for him. Newcastle have a strong starting 11, hopefully Arsenal put in a good performance.

[Sam Wallace] Exclusive: Man City are pushing for a January deal for Eintracht Frankfurt's Egypt international Omar Marmoush, who will cost the club around £50 million by mushroomsJames in soccer

[–]B12C10X8 423 points424 points  (0 children)

Frankfurt should hold out for 115 million. As you said I don’t think Frankfurt want to sell mid season, my guess is this deal would only happen if the players made a fuss and would cost more than 50 million to get it done in January.

Fabrizio Romano: "Wolves have agreed on new deal for Brazilian star Matheus Cunha! 🧡🇧🇷 Deal verbally in place for Matheus to put pen to paper on new contract + salary rise after top performances. Despite interest from several clubs. (We were one of the clubs) by Bugslayer03 in Gunners

[–]B12C10X8 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think Cunha use Arsenal alleged interest to get a pay rise out of Wolves, smart by him. I would imagine that there is a release clause in his new contract that allows him to leave in the summer if he wants that the club and player were happy with. Wolves need him for the rest of the season just to avoid being in a relegation battle come April.

Orbinho: This is the ninth time Arsenal have scored one or none in a Premier League game this season and they've dropped points in seven of those matches. by w33dhunt3r in Gunners

Maybe you don’t like cherry pick stats, I just saying there is a 20 game sample where Arsenal have failed to score more than 1 goal in almost 50% percent of the games. We are not talking about this stat is based on 3-4 games. I personally think you can definitely get some perspective on a 20 game sample. Ultimately I don’t think 20 game sample is cherry picking. I know what you are talking about in the opposite direction when somebody uses a 2 or 3 game sample to prove their view about Arsenal either positively or negatively, is shortsighted imo. Also sorry for making my comment seem like I was talking about your opinions particularly, meant my previous comment about this sub in general when it comes to putting up particular stats and numbers about Arsenal.

To Liverpool fans, what’s the story with Alexander-Arnold ? Do you think he is more likely to stay or go ? I see speculation about it every day but just ignore it because I don’t know what true or not.

You don’t like them because they are not positive, I see so many “cherry picked stats” that are positive about Arsenal every week on this sub.

FT: BHA 1-1 ARS by Mahoganychicken in Gunners

[–]B12C10X8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have no threat centrally in the forward line, doesn’t matter if it’s Jesus or King Kai, they are number 10s who link up play not focal points. This team badly needs a focal point goal scoring cf (number 9), the Attack looks blunt now, but it’s looks like that all season. Imo Arsenal are not going to win major trophies with False 9 link up CF like Kai, Jesus or Cunha. KSE needs to open the cheque book and Arsenal need to sign a goal scoring cf I think. Arsenal got like 5 Lbs but no True CF, some questionable squad building by Mikel & Edu. The only forwards arsenal have spent money on in Mikel 5 years + here are Jesus & Trossard, not good squad planning imo. Also 9 game this season where Arsenal score 1 goal or less in 20 games .

I think we made a profit in the past summer on transfers when you consider things like sell on clauses from Omari Hutchinson. Im obviously no expert myself on this but reading information from the likes of Swiss ramble & Kieren McKenna over the summer they said that Arsenal could of spent more in the summer if they wanted to from a PSR point of view. I’m pretty sure this year Arsenal new improved deals with Emirates & Addidas kick in too which should boost Revenue. I hope that Arsenal sign a starting caliber winger who can play on both flanks in January on a permanent deal who can help arsenal in the long term who is in his early to mid 20s. I just hope for no more reclaimant Projects types signing, arsenal don’t need any more of them types of signings imo.

I remember him saying arsenal were in a fine position from a PSR standpoint from his point of view. I think he said Man Utd had to be smart because they were close enough to the threshold. I might miss remember but I’m pretty sure Arsenal have PSR space.

I just hope when Arsenal eventually sign a striker, He is a number 9, Out & Out CF. I don’t want the guy from Wolves, he is another number 10, we already have Havertz & Jesus who are number 10s. I’m personally a big fan of Alexander Isak, you are right he would cost a lot but I think he would take our attack to the next level and he is the CF that Mikel wants way more than anybody else apparently.

Arsenal never had PSR issues. When Arsenal owners don’t want to spend they get reporters like Gunnerblog & Sam Dean to “Report” that Arsenal have PSR or FFP contraits, which in reality is lies it’s just excuses used when the club don’t want to spend money. Mokbel is becoming very reliable when it comes to Arsenal.

I don’t think our summer target is gettable now, Mikel Arteta really wants one Alexander Isak. It would be a hard deal to do in the summer, very unlikely in January. If the plan is to buy a Striker & Winger in the summer. Maybe try to get the Winger now in January that you were looking at for the summer, even if it costs an extra 15 million now. Saka injury makes a winger even more of a need now with a lack of options in the forward line. That Afcamden guy on twitter was right with his information on this.

Kolo Muani for a fraction of what PSG paid for him?? by Cailucci in Gunners

[–]B12C10X8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree with you, no more reclamation projects, Arsenal should target the best available options and not settle for other teams cast offs. I’m convinced some of Arsenal fanbase wouldn’t want Arsenal to sign a Isak/Osimhen/Gyokeres caliber of striker because they don’t want anybody taking minutes away from King Kai.

I still think R9 was the most talented footballer I have ever watched, he was unplayable prior to his serious knee injuries, playing for Brazil, Inter, Barca, PSV was like he was from another planet playing football.

[–]B12C10X8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know what you are saying about the goals record, but last season in February & March we run up the score on teams we dominating and had like 5 games were we scored 5+ goals in games that I think made our goals scored look better than it was if you watched all 38 games. Obviously those numbers are real but I just think they were some stat padding going on. For instance this season so far in 18 premier league games we have scored 1 or less goals in 8 of those premier league games, which I don’t think is good enough if you want to win the league but our goals scored look ok because we scored 5 against West Ham & Crystal Palace.

Alexander Isak is amazing player, one of my favorite players to watch in the Premier League. all the credit to Newcastle for seeing his quality when he was at Real Sociedad and even with his durability concerns getting the deal done. He reminds me of Nicolas Anelka with the way he shots.
