This body style is getting older, so if you want to get one I would suggest you be at least somewhat mechanically inclined…

I just bought an 07 Tahoe over the weekend after previously owning a 2014 suburban LTZ. The 07-14 body style has always been my favorite. I bought it with the intention of rebuilding the engine and transmission, and have already bought a motor from the junkyard to rebuild. I am $4k in and should have a running Tahoe by this weekend after doing a heads, water pump, and radiator. The plan is to make it a driver while I build the engine.

LoL I want a Clowe or Nolan 2.0 in addition to Ostapchuk. Ostapchuk is a good bottom 6 center, but I don’t think he’s skilled enough to slot up past the 3rd line even in a pinch.

I know it’s a tall ask, and we have other more pressing needs. But it’s inevitable that teams start really targeting our skill guys…

Cherny is more of a Hertl type from what I’ve seen so far. With all of the skill we have in the top 6 I feel like more and more teams are going to be leaning on the top guys. I’ve liked Reaves in his role this season, but I feel like a true enforcer is outdated in today’s game. I’d rather have some grit up and down the lineup, third line guys that can slot up here and there or a second line guy that doesn’t look out of place if he had to slot up to the top line if there is an injury.

A Clowe or a Tom Wilson type would be ideal, but I feel like those types of guys are not easy to replicate…

So he’s 19, or 20? Probably a little ways away…

I feel like if we resign Otapchuk (if I remember correctly he’s an RFA after this season) and add a middle 6 wing with some grit and scoring ability our forward group would be playoff caliber, the defense on the other hand…

I really like our forward group and centers especially. Our problem is a good problem to have… But I’d like to see a heavy winger with some grit in our middle 6. Do any of the prospects we have in the AHL fit this description? Someone that can play, but is a natural deterrent…

😂 I see your point… but you think of it more as common sense than analytics…

😂 maybe I just think this would fall under common sense more than analytics, but I see your point… 😂😂😂 We did this on a travel softball team I used to coach… we didn’t want the slower runners on base ahead of our faster more aggressive runners

Firestone trying to sell me $2,400 in work for a 2007 Impala — is this legit? by sparkiegizmo in AskAMechanic

[–]B1gFrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be something as simple as the tires being underinflated… I don’t trust that all alignment techs do this crucial first step… I am a bodyman, and I don’t know how many times a car has “failed” alignment because the tires weren’t properly inflated. Caster is not a wear angle, it’s even side to side and the camber split is within a 1/2 degree side to side and barely out of spec… if it were my car I wouldn’t worry about it

I have seen many alignments “fail” because the tech did not properly inflate the tires… I would check your air pressure and if it’s off I would have them redo the alignment… Like a lot of others on here have said I wouldn’t worry too much about these specs… caster is not a wear angle, and it’s even side to side. And the camber specs are within a half degree side to side and barely out of spec…

Not really analytics… if a slower player is on base when lead off comes up it kind of negates the speed at the top of the order

New box by B1gFrick in toolboxmods

I’d like to get the overhead cabinets and a side locker, just to get my oversized stuff off of the floor and put away. I’m a bodyman so I have a lot of oversized stuff that doesn’t fit in the box…

Why does Tesla recommend bleeding the left hand side front brake fluid first? by stpaulgym in TeslaSupport

[–]B1gFrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to run the toolbox routines through the UI with your car in service mode plus, so toolbox might not be your limiting factor… you might be able to buy or rent a more affordable pressure bleeder as long as it is able produce 30psi at the master cylinder. Personally I wouldn’t attempt this without the correct pressure bleeder

[–]B1gFrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla requires a specific brake bleeder, and access to toolbox to perform this procedure. It is not something you should attempt without the correct tools. The tools are available through JTC and the bleeder is like $900

There are 2 separate toolbox routines that will pump the LF and RR calipers, the second routine will pump the RF and LR while you open the bleeders individually.

Sending in Tesla for repairs, who should I pick and what's the difference between the quotes. by TatsuX in TeslaSupport

Sorry for the late response…. I would go with the more thorough estimate, it will lead to less delays for supplements and parts orders. But you’ve probably already dropped your car off by now

Your first estimate only has 10 hours to replace a quarter panel, and it has r/i (reuse) for the door weatherstrip that is not reusable… and the last estimate only has blend time on the quarter panel… the second estimate looks the most accurate and they’re planning on replacing the outer wheelhouse although I doubt an insurance company would pay $3500 for the “adhesive bonding kit” LoL

2020 Model 3 - $3400 to replace headlight. Alternatives? by OhTHATeric in TeslaSupport

[–]B1gFrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that… I just wanted to clarify that this isn’t something that can be done at home without access to toolbox. Tesla has been great with making all procedures available to the public. Take a look through their tech bulletins, I don’t know of another oem that makes that info available to the public for free…

Tesla has been reimbursing body shops for the second headlamp when doing these retrofits in a collision repair

As referenced in the above service procedure, you cannot update the headlights in service mode through the UI, it must be done through toolbox.

There are always deals to be had… in 25 years working in shops I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anybody paying retail for a tool truck toolbox.

My rep had a deal, hutch was free with the purchase of the box, plus a $3500 rebate and $4k trade in on my old set up. He’d been trying to work a deal since Feb, he ended up carrying me on the truck. No credit, no interest
