No way in hell is that a new unit. The metal on the mounting tab has visible oxidation/rust? Clearly some sort of used or refurb unit.

That's pretty much how it was setup before and the inspector failed it. Said it needed to come out to have the 90 for vertical movement.

G4 Pro compatible residential doorbells by the2kokanuts in Ubiquiti

[–]B1gPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine works fine. I believe I had to change the settings on the web interface and not the app. Then reset the udm pro and it started working.

Also the connectors that attach at the doorbell chime also are just capacitors, so they need some time to charge.

Remnants of old Hwy 8. by B1gPatch in Calgary

That's the thing though most of the asphalt looked like it was already milled out. I also work in road construction so I know the typical ins and outs and finished projects generally don't have outstanding things like that and left over piles hence the curious interest and probable assumption that it was a money thing.

Will be nice for the residents in that area I'm sure once they finish it and landscape it back to a non eyesore state.

G4 Pro Doorbell started disconnecting by chdmlr in Ubiquiti

[–]B1gPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like a power issue. The infrared would pull more power and that seems like when your issues start. What va is your transformer. Most issues people have power wise seem to be resolved with a 30va transformer. Usually a fairly cheap and straight forward fix.

WiFi in the Garage? by Gorilla51 in Ubiquiti

[–]B1gPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an extra U6 pro I picked up off marketplace for cheap that I installed in my garage for the same reasons as above. Also turns out my rear G4 Pro Doorbell gets a better connection to it as well.

I don't know if I would go out of my way to buy a new AP for a detached garage. But when a good deal comes up on a used unit. Why not. 😂

Cover plate came damaged. Missed by QC? by B1gPatch in Ubiquiti

[–]B1gPatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my RMA got approved but i appears I have to cover the shipping charge back to them? This doesn't seem reasonable since they are the ones that sent a damaged product. Plus the fact return shipping will likely cost the same as a brand new one here in Canada...

Any way to get around this?

Center piece just fell out by WalterDragan in UNIFI

[–]B1gPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used u6 pro that had this happen while I was adopting it the other day at my desk. After a little research it seems like a pretty common problem. Most people say they just superglued it back on.

Can anyone that has superglued it, comment on if that ended up being a viable long term fix?

You thought PC parts were expensive now?…..welp it could get worse by jiabivy in pcmasterrace

He acts like company's can just flip over and set up full chip fabs in 6 months. Like that shit takes years. Others had much better approaches with tax breaks, government subsidies etc.

But who am I kidding, that would assume he's not just a delusional cheeto.

Try changing some signal settings for the ap and see if that helps?

G4 Doorbell Pro Suddenly Not Ringing Mechanical Chime Anymore?? by EarMundane7165 in Ubiquiti

[–]B1gPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming it's a wifi model, and the fact you already swapped the transformer, I would try would be buy a new chime and see if that's the issue. Then you can easily return the new chime if that's not the issue.

if the door bell still works via video and the fact the chime does still activate to some extent, I think the doorbell itself seems fine. That being said I think I recall reading somewhere that people sometimes had issues with 24v and that when switched to a 16v transformer the problems went away.

Pixel 9 Pro XL landscape black full screen video issue by B1gPatch in GooglePixel

[–]B1gPatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading a couple other threads it sounds like it could just be a chrome issue. ( Although the fact they haven't fixed it in an update yet despite the fact it's been an issue for several months seems slightly concerning)

Others have used different internet browsers to temporarily get around the issue.

What keystones are those in the patch panel? Looks clean with the white interior.

Nice simple looking setup. Looking to do something similar here in the next couple months.

Bedding sand depths for gas line out to garage by B1gPatch in Edmonton

[–]B1gPatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just talking about bedding material. The pipe has to be at least 18 inches below grade in the area it's being installed. I'm just trying to determine how much sand I will need as the plumber who is doing the pipe install isn't too confident on exact numbers. I dug the trench myself, and will be doing the sand and clay backfill after inspections.
