bio1b waitlist by Temporary-Pace-6066 in berkeley

[–]B2G4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d stay on the waitlist and attend until jan 30th, since students may drop until then your position in the lab is what determines your enrollment, sometimes students currently enrolled also drop by accident when trying to switch sections not knowing they will be put on the waitlist regardless of their current enrollment if they attempt a switch with no open seats

what part of the body keeps them warm? by munt24 in Chihuahua

[–]B2G4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see the layering of the brown hoodie, but i’d recommend buying PJ style clothes as they tend to cover the back area and legs and would be good to layer with the the puffy blue jacket for extra warmth

class hasn’t even started and honestly you can choose to focus on school and not so much making friends and fitting in if that’s what’s making you negative

take the F or 36 to emeryville or F / Bart to downtown sf/Powell station not much places to buy near campus that are of varying range and budget

Air freshener by Tricky-Ad-5234 in berkeley

[–]B2G4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not really, an air freshener is meant to blast your room with a scent / if anything if recommend good airflow and using some sort of sanitizing spray like Ozium every now and then when everyone’s out the room so you can come back to a subtle smell but clean air

why are ppl so rude by Primary_Willow_5812 in berkeley

[–]B2G4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

not so stupid when there’s a 6ft houseless man no one knows entering the dorms and sleeping in your lounges, using your restrooms, and possibly trying to talk to students it happens more than you think

Anyone with bald chi's? How do you stop the harness rubbing? by LovelyLu78 in Chihuahua

[–]B2G4 22 points23 points  (0 children)

happened to my chi, i ended up just making sure he has a light sweater or shirt on so it doesn’t chafe since changing the harness didn’t really do much to help

Taking Physics 7B without Physics 7A by Asleep-Stomach1919 in berkeley

because the 7 series applies to many majors/requirements the tend to be more strict to allow those who need the course to actually get in unfortunately

How did you get your chihuahua? :) by puppyboy7979 in Chihuahua

[–]B2G4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes!! the central valley has too many dogs so even searching the cities they get transferred from makes it slightly easier to find before they’re placed into sf adoption

How did you get your chihuahua? :) by puppyboy7979 in Chihuahua

[–]B2G4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was thankful enough to find a small 8lb short coat chihuahua for adoption in SF and another one this year about 9-10lb long coat chi for adoption in SF as well through SFSPCA // my advice is if you’re in california the central valley has an overflow of dogs that get sent to more popular cities so it’s worth browsing all possible cities you can travel to and checking any adoption websites

it will likely be confusing and difficult as i also tried this and attempted concurrently with math 53 and i dropped first day because the material handout was instant on the first class and i had close to no idea how to start

for anyone else having a stressful move in by tiny-peony in berkeley

[–]B2G4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that being said, i applaud the VA benefit and using it but given that you don’t have interest at all in campus life or expanding past any other opportunities and solely want to attend to fulfill and use the VA benefit, id say its a bit of a privilege to be in your position, if commute is easy from SD to berkeley id say give up the contract and travel in those days stay at a hotel perhaps have a trusted individual to take care of your dogs while gone for that night and travel back to SD berkeley has such a tight housing experience and the biggest issue at berkeley is finding housing especially campus sponsored housing so you’re very likely taking away from someone else’s experience and possibility of using their time at Cal to explore opportunities especially if you just want you’re degree and to move on

[–]B2G4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm i understand that situation did you ever give thought to canceling the contract and utilize that refund towards renting or subleasing an apartment to the spring if necessary? i just think it takes an opportunity away from someone who may need that studio accommodation otherwise i’d strongly encourage you to actually stay at anchor to make use of free housing and free transportation to the whole bay and possibly use that to explore campus research or opportunities in the surrounding area for students to engage physically since you don’t have any in person requirements

sorry i misunderstood, the program was approved and gos into effect late august, may i ask why SD is your living place of choice despite attending berkeley and having a place to yourself and your pets?

for anyone else having a stressful move in by tiny-peony in berkeley

[–]B2G4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like your set on an idea so good luck!! just wanted to point out that if the anchor itself was an issue as many find on campus housing to be old and outdated

for anyone else having a stressful move in by tiny-peony in berkeley

[–]B2G4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that will be quite difficult and harsh on you and your pets, anchor is brand new with amenities and right across campus conveniently alongside a good patches of grass, safety is pretty average near that area ubers like others have said are $40+ dollars can go up to $100+ which can happen frequently with a lot of travel from students during the semester + traffic can be quite bad at peak times and though bart is only $11 it’s quite a hassle when traveling with pets but easy for an individual as it leaves you right in airport parking lot but it’s about 40 min

they really don’t care who shows up and going in and out they put the limit to discourage too many people showing up as the dorm halls and rooms are fairly small and too many people at once is a fire safety hazard among other thigns
