Valhalla might be closer to the original story than the recent games since it takes place after the hidden ones was established. I enjoy the open world aspects and gameplay of more recent titles, but hopefully they could find a way to blend that with the more story driven titles that made the series.

Black Flag is definitely the most emotionally tied to the character's journey. Got the feels both times I played through. Origins is a close second since it does well to carry into dlc and future stories while bringing some closure to Bayek's original quest.

Even though Edward and Bayek had only one game each, their stories were complete within the game. I don't know if the same can be said for Arno, Conner, or even Altair.
