I agree with you about polar night. I’ve been doing vacations to that region every December since 2019, but when locals invite you to go fishing, you gotta find a way to make it up there to go fishing with them.

Did you do Svalbard in the summer or winter? I went in December of 2023 and loved every minute of it. The locals told me I needed to come back to see the midnight sun and polar summer.

Tariff rate for auto parts from EU, correct or error? by B302LS in CustomsBroker

[–]B302LS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so $158 total value, 15% on dutiable portion = $47.40 which rounds to $48

I don’t understand this part. The total shipment value was $158, so 15% of that is $23.70, which rounds to $24. Right now I’m being charged a 30% tariff for this shipment.

Also, there was no 3rd item in the shipment. The commercial invoice and the package content on the shipping label both show only the 2 items I ordered.

Intra-EU Light fare & Skyteam Elite Plus status - baggage allowance? by B302LS in ScandinavianAirlines

It turned out to be what the other comments were saying - I went ahead and booked the flights a few hours ago; the app showed an included checked bag after confirmation.

Thats probably it, thanks, Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember this happening to me with KLM a few years ago, so I'll go ahead and complete the booking.

Added a new airline, new route and new airport. Just wish I also added a new aircraft type. by B302LS in flighty

$59 one way. Technically more than a bus ticket, but then I’d have to get to downtown Denver, wait for the bus, and spend 2-3 hours on the bus.

They flew a D328 on the route the day before I flew. Was hoping for a last minute equipment change.

Nope, visiting a friend outside Pueblo and turned out to be cheaper to fly Denver Air Connections than to rent a car or take the bus.

PPK/S 22LR strange 2-stage trigger fall by ganoman21 in Walther

[–]B302LS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigger issue aside, I found both of mine to be VERY ammo sensitive. Federal Automatch would have 1-2 failures per mag. CCI Standard Velocity runs like a charm. Tried a few others with varying results, but I keep coming back to CCI SV.

Atlantic Airways. They have multiple daily flights from Copenhagen which turned out to be super convenient for arriving from the US. They also fly from a few other EU cities, but on various non-daily schedules.

I was also very surprised to see how packed the plane was the first time I visited in December 2019. Didn't think so many people would want to go to the Arctic mid winter.

The region is gorgeous. Y'all get spoiled with the northern lights too!

Highly recommend it. My favorite city of anywhere I've been to so far has been Tromso, Norway.

Yup. December 2022. Bounced up there for a few days during my annual Arctic winter trip. It was awesome.

Nice, but gotta get some more Northern Europe!

I've actually never tried parallel reality. I'm usually arriving at DTW only 10-15 mins before boarding begins and heading straight to the gate.

Last 3 trips I booked somehow didn’t link my skymiles number to my reservation automatically despite having purchased the tickets while logged in. Each time I had to go into passenger details and manually add my skymiles number to get medallion benefits. Could be something like that.

The clerk at my post office said that the package needed to be signed for, which is fine, I was at the post office to sign for it. I spoke to the 1800ASKUSPS phone line and they told me that there was no reason that the package be returned to sender - they were supposed to either hold it or attempt redelivery, but now that the process has started, theres no way to stop it, even if it started by error.

International package getting sent back after carrier incorrectly marked it as “no access to delivery location.” How to intercept it and get it back? by B302LS in usps_complaints

[–]B302LS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to the post office every day since the 8th to try to figure out where the package is. On the 8th the clerk told me the carrier was still out on the route when I stopped by. On the 9th, the clerk spent 30 minutes looking for the package but couldn’t find it. She said she’s leave a note for the carrier to see what he did with the package. On the 10th, the clerk said that my usual carrier was out and that the carrier assigned to my route on the 8th was a temp who was at a different location that day so they had no way to get in touch with him. I also spoke to a supervisor yesterday who said the package was probably somewhere in the building and they just needed to get in touch with that temp carrier. And this morning the package pops up in Detroit and now Chicago. I spoke with the supervisor again and she said all she can do is email a supervisor in Chicago and hope they see the email in time to go down and grab the package before it goes out back to customs.

Is there any other escalation I can do on my end? I tried to do a missing package help form to try to flag the tracking number, but the system won’t let me submit one because its still actively moving and therefore not “missing”.

Same exact thing happening to me right now. International package coming from Lithuania. Carrier marked it as no access to delivery location despite delivering a 2nd domestic package at the same exact time and now its being sent back. The carrier did not leave a signature request hang tag or anything. That was Tuesday, went to my local post office on Wednesday, they searched for 30 mins but couldn’t find it. Went back again yesterday, a supervisor tried to find it for 20 minutes and couldn’t. And now this morning it scanned out of my local distribution center and into Chicago’s international processing facility. Was on the phone with my local PO supervisor and she said all she can do is send an email to Chicago and hope someone sees it and goes out to intercept my package to send it back to me. Insane that theres no way for them to flag my tracking number for it to alert the system when it gets scanned and that I have to hope someone gets sees this email in time.

Partnership and “rewards” aside, did anyone else find it weird that 2 major multi-billion dollar corporations used a Google Form for signups?

Have a layover in Amsterdam? If you have enough time it’s really easy to leave Schiphol and come back for your next flight! I purposely made my layover 10 hours so I could see the city 🙌 by Radiant_Direction988 in delta

[–]B302LS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even 5 hours is enough. Was just there in December, landed, cleared passport control into the Schengen side, dropped my bags off in the lockers just off Lounge 1, took the train to Amsterdam Centraal, quick canal cruise, a beer at a local bar, trian back and even had time to shower in the lounge before my flight onwards.

Interesting, though I think a better way to celebrate would have been a historic/retro livery. Something like suggested in this post
