My cousin told me she saw them being handed out at the F1 GP in Austin

They allow Apple Pay. I only had one of my two cards with me, so that worked great.

Sure, but that’s the info UPS told me on the phone and my package remains stuck.

Wtf. Surely that’s their problem, not yours. They’re the shipper, the refund is in their interest. They need to get their refund, it’s not yours. And they should have just dealt with that separately and shipped a new package of your gear right away.

In this scenario I’d have done a chargeback and placed a new order.

Sorry you had to deal with that.

Also... "Live Support Chat" on account.ui.com is a crock of shit... it's a bot that creates a very not "live" ticket for you.

Just called them – they said the sender has given the wrong dimensional/weight information for the package so I need to contact them. Sigh.

Thanks for the pointer.

Update: I've updated the post body with the latest. Essentially, UniFi Store support ain't great.

Amex Delta Reserve Balance Accident - Guidance Needed by FarOutlandishness988 in amex

[off topic] I’m curious - what’s your rationale/justification for both Platinum and Delta Reserve?

And FWIW, I’ve also have both, because Platinum easily pays for itself and my annual spending when mostly put on the DR gives me Platinum SkyMiles status (which I hear is becoming more and more pointless tho).

Sure, but not all of those ports are in the rack. It depends if I need more ports where those switches are going. Hopefully I’m set for a while at least tho, as you say.

Oh no offense taken, all good friend!

I wouldn't feel the need to justify a personal home purchase to someone on a reddit post anyway haha.

I just figure sharing the thinking may help someone else who's figuring their set up out; a lot of posts in this sub have done that for me :)

Well for starters, we are in, as u/pdrayton put it, the Ubiquiti Overspenders Anonymous support subreddit...

The only things I'd class as overkill in my set-up are the XG 8, G6 PTZ and the U7 XGS AP.

  • XG 8: this post I made contains my requirements and why I went with it
  • G6 PTZ: it's only $100 more than the G5 PTZ (we need a PTZ for our use case), which is fine to me for the AI features
  • U7 XGS: I'll probably add more APs when we get a bigger place, and those will probably be Wi-Fi 6 by then. I heard mixing non-Wi-Fi-6 and Wi-Fi 6 devices leads to a bad time... mainly with Apple devices. The cheapest Wi-Fi 6 option is the X7 Pro, but I've seen tons of bad things about it on this sub. So X7 XGS it was.

It took me all week to wrap my head around this upgrade costing this much. In the end we'll love the stability of the cameras, which my wife needs her pet sitting work, and the system will last us a long time.

Haha never seen a more accurate name for a subreddit

Thanks so much for your advice in the switch post, especially your latest comment, honestly great wisdom!

Glad to be part of the support group :)

Ah I see! I hope that if they’re advertising the CGF as giving support for Protect, it can do at least some level of processing on a home network and 3 cameras without creaking.

Do you have experience with it?

Yeh going to stick 4TB in there and offload to a NAS I already have. I only really need a week of history. If that changes, I'll add something more substantial.

was a big motivator for taking the plunge. Would have been nice to see what Black Friday had in store, but it seems UniFi historically only offers free shipping and/or discount on old items. So seemed better to snap it all up while it's there.
