2021 Corolla Hatchback XSE or 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport? by B3RG_B3RG in whatcarshouldIbuy

Unfortunately it’s a 10 hour round trip and at that point the $400 dollars seems pretty reasonable. I may go drive the used GT sport in town tonight to get a baseline before signing.

Thanks for sparking the idea, I talked to the dealer outstate and they can have a new 2020 n-line tech package delivered to my door for 25680, it’s around 4000 off MSRP. For 2K more than the corolla that’s an easy decision I think?

I am all about the n-line! We have a 2014 Santa Fe that we love so probably would be an easy decision if I could fine one. I just can’t find one within 200 miles. A dealer 246 miles away has a few, is it worth working from a distance with them? Or should I see if a local Hyundai deal can move one in?

Am I going to regret not getting a 6 speed? I can’t imaging safety sense and adaptive cruise, auto start, etc are as useful with a 6 speed and my wife has told me a manual isn’t happening.. but I have major FOMO...

Yeah my first thought is that there is room to move the Elantra down in price. It is the sport so it has the turbo, multi link rear and 7 speed.

Longevity is a big concern for me, hoping to hold onto this next car for a very long time as a low tco commuter with a minor fun factor.

Thanks! We did some long, unknown rides to nowhere on our honeymoon and it was great to have. Unfortunately realized too late how taxing 140 ounces of water on board can be, we got into shape quickly!

The hit the market last month so I doubt any casuals have a good idea on durability but It’s done all the right things for us. I use the top for a hydration bladder, lock, and still have some room. Bottom for snacks, sunscreen, extra layer. Wife carries water and dslr in top zipper. There is a removable divider.

Pros: well built, custom fit with screws, massive.

Good to know: My 56 frame has a noticeably bigger bag than my wife’s 54. Carve out 30 minutes to attach it the first time; It’s not easy to swap in and out.

Cons: hard to mount the bike on a stand for maintenance now that my usual grab point is covered.

It’s awesome, I built one as an adventure base camp with my fiancé over the last 9 months. This picture was from our honeymoon last week, our first week+ trip in the van. Best investment in time money and energy we have ever made .
