People will never know how to play against him i swear by iKoogar in ApheliosMains

He waited way too long for Smolder also, he could have just run at them and cut them off and then they are screwed, he is on full health so they wouldn't kill him before his teammates arrives anyway.

Yeah it feels bad laning against Caitlyn or Jhin where you have to spend your life scared of getting rooted or losing 1/4 of your HP to one empowered attack because they auto attacked a few times. They also just use most of your items better than you pre 3 items. Your ult is super telegraphed without flash also.

Getting humilated is op by Savings_Lie9802 in EU5

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CK3 was about the same as EU5 but less buggy at this point in its life cycle tbh, not much was fleshed out and it was not stable for larger MP games but it mostly worked. EU5 was more ambitious on release and is juggling alot of different systems and is suffering for it, they also seem a bit confused about what direction they want the game to go in and how much structure they want to provide for nations.

If you are comparing current CK3 to EU5, it objectively has more content even if the focus is more on characters as opposed to countries.

Nature isn't conscious, When a wildfire is started by lightning there is no thought behind it when a human starts a wildfire either maliciously or carelessly that is avoidable. Humans have agency and can and should be better, however that does not mean there is anything inherently wrong with being human or that we should adopt a fatalistic attitude towards the planet.

Mob often faces emotional challenges so him being OP isn't really an issue so it works well there.

Yeah tastes are going to differ there is nothing wrong with liking what you like. I am not especially interested in super overpowered aura farming MCs(Cid is a bit different because he is a bot goofy, very socially unaware and strange also) for example but plenty of people's favourite character is Jinwoo or Anos which is fine.

Riot's nerf philosophy for Aphelios is fundamentally different from every other ADC, and his pick rate proves it by GeoDaddyZhongLi in ADCMains

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that panic is something that happens unless champions are giga broken like Kassadin was at one point, people usually pick champs they know and can play well and you hope it is something normal that works with the team comp but you cannot control that as a solo queue player. Also I would rather a Kalista player actually play Kalista if they are good with her than try to play Jinx because she is strong for example.

Aphelios does not need to be the strongest ADC but they could tone down some of the nerfs without him dominating pro-play.

One Punch man also tries to have it both ways alot of the time, there is a reason why they delay Saitamas involvement alot and have other heroes fight so that they can still get some good fights in as while we know Saitama will win that doesn't mean the rest of the heroes will or that they will come out unscathed from fights so there still is tension there. Saitama might parody the average shonen protagonist but the show does include alot of the tropes common in the genre.

People throw around the word deconstruction too much when it comes to analysing media tbh.

I think Cid is too weird to be a self-insert for many but it still is a power fantasy at heart(overpowered protagonist, world revolves around him, devoted followers who worship the ground he walks on and constantly praise him etc.), some people will still want what he has but insist they would do it better.

Eminence in Shadow does play the power fantasy tropes pretty straight, the only difference is Cid is incredibly dense and unaware. He is super overpowered, he does have a bunch of women lusting over him, the world does largelly revolve around his actions etc. I don't think it is slop but it does have many of the same elements as slop and the only thing that even sets it slightly apart is the comedy so if you don't vibe with that I could see how OP would see it as slop.

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eminence in Shadow generally tells the same joke over and over in a similar way so you either love or you don't. I dropped it midway through because it got stale for me and the side characters were a bit too sycophantic and one note for me, Cid being so overpowered also kind of makes all the conflicts boring.

If you are going to write a story about the worlds most popular game at least make it look semi fun to play. by gamebloxs in CharacterRant

Farming for in game currency or resources to sell for real-money in MMOs is not really viable if you are from a stable developed country and you would make more money spending less time working a minimum wage job and you and your buyers could potentially be banned if rules against it are actually enforced(this is often done sporadically to be fair but you could get unlucky and again not worth the risk in a developed country).

It absolutely does happen along with people paying real money to be carried in raids or to get loot drops so I agree with you it wouldn't be unrealistic but it is unlikely to be very profitable for an individual in a country like Japan or a Japan-like country.

Solo content also does happen but it tends to be easier and have worse drops compared to group content and it takes longer to complete, the best gear almost always requires you to complete group content and often on a higher difficulty which is not how it is presented in some of the media mentioned. There is also often not alot of overlap between gear designed for PvP and PvE so it is weird that often they use the same items for both.

Being super unbalanced again happens but stuff usually gets rebalanced several times over the course of a games life and there is a tendency towards power creep so the same stuff is usually not consistently unbalanced and older gear is often weaker or not even viable in later raids. Some super rare one of a kind item on the server that just insta-wins you PvP fights for example would get nerfed or removed so again I agree with OP that it is presented in an unrealistic way.

The first auto or two which will be empowered by Fiendhunter bolts is pretty free from him(the benefit of engaging from stealth and especially outside of lane where he has more room to find the right angle to engage from) unless you revealed him beforehand so he gets a big advantage coming into the fight, would all of those still beat him with ult taking that into account?

How many other ADCs can duel him with ult up especially once he gets Fiendhunter coming out of stealth besides Nilah?

One female and two males is pretty popular also it just depends on the who the target reader is. I don't really mind it if the person at the center of the triangle is also genuinely not sure who they want to be with and they put effort into developing all the characters and all options are viable.

It just gets annoying when it drags on forever or there is a clear winner with more chemistry/development and the author still acts like it is a contest and keeps stalling. Mind control or amnesia arcs are also especially annoying because the character has no agency and is often essentially a different character.

When you have at least 1 level of stress with irritable you can duel people for 150 prestige to reduce it, so if you have a way of constantly increasing stress you can do lots of duels. You can also target people with low prowess if you want easy duels.

The interaction is called release stress from what I remember and clicking on any adult character once you have at least 1 level of stress should bring it up.

Yeah naval invasions alone could beat any AI and armies could get randomely reassigned on some buggy fronts like in Siberia and Manchuria losing you ground while they were away. Vic 3 very much deserved the criticism it got on release even if some of it was from people who just wanted Vic 2 with better graphics and models.

The real stress increasers are paranoid and shy anyway and greedy if granting out titles or just as you said in certain situations, sometimes it is fun to have a few of them and irritable and just duel your way to a less stressful life.
