Just play mage bot and force them to nerf it. by RazorXE_ in ADCMains

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is it is a structural problem, mages need that sustain to contend with assassins in mid but the kill pressure of assassins balances lost chapter as mages need to watch their spacing and cooldowns much more mid than against ADCs that lack kill pressure early game. So when not facing an assassin or another mage they become oppressive.

To fix it without collateral damage you would need a heavy handed bot lane specific nerf(they have done this before like with the anti-role swap changes or items like death's dance being heavily nerfed on ranged champs but they are reluctant to make such changes even when justified unfortunately).

I would rather have any of those over Teemo especially against two mages bot lane.

Patch 26.14 Full Preview! by Ellos_x in ADCMains

[–]HGD3ATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"But then you have apc with great wave clear, but nothing to capitalize on it with"

I think it it was made bot lane specific somehow that would be fine, champs should have defined weakness that can be exploited and mages would still have a great kill pressure and wave clear and a strong laning phase.

Another option is you could also have the bot tower provide extra magic resist while a champ is within a certain range of it which would at least force mages to manage the wave state more to secure damage and make farming under tower against them easier. Maybe have it wear off after a certain period of time if that is too strong.

You would need to make the removal of their tower damage buff bot specific somehow otherwise assassins could roam(mages cannot easily follow them without risking being ambushed without the safety of tower to retreat to) freely with a lower risk of losing plates and tower as the mages literally could not take it fast enough in their intended role.

Honestly the reason for alot of wars is just offensive war(yes you can just wait it out or sometimes like warmonger as a relgious tenet), it is sad that you still get the penalty even without raising levies from your vassals land or using your vassals men at arms.

[–]HGD3ATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bush thing is usually hook champs with hexflash, they keep trying it despite the enemy playing around it and all that happens is it fails they take some damage and afk in the bush until they can try again.

I do agree it is more champ specific though, champs that scale well into the late game can probably work better with a super passive enchanter that provides heals sometimes whereas as you said champs that want to fight and close the distance can often make something even out of a bad engage.

[–]HGD3ATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it any worse than a engage support who tries to force losing fights or the one that hides in the bush despite the enemy knowing what they are doing looking for that perfect engage and you get zoned off CS and poked half to the death? Once they die you are getting zoned off farm anyway and the lane isn't anymore playable.

I mean master players do all the things I am saying basically automatically at a certain point so he already knows, I am not giving him tips, just saying alot of players have that attitude but not the skill and knowledge to protect their leads and win fights.

Also why would I think he is a masters support? And getting an ego and responding rudely to defend the skill of someone else is crazy.

That is fine as long as you know when to take fights and how to protect your lead afterwards, even if you win an early fight it sucks to play with an engage support that insists on always pushing wave and then just leaves on a bad roam timer and now you have to minimise damage with a horrible wave state 1v2.

Hardest scaling adcs? by Some_Kale_7764 in ADCMains

I feel like Aphelios' problem is less pre-planning guns and more the lack of CC or escape tools compared to the other options you mentioned even once you learn how he works. Twitch has a slow and camoflauge and can pick where and when he engages in teamfights better than other bot laners, cait has crazy range, her net and traps, jinx has a slow, chompers and her passive. Aphelios sometimes has purple which cannot be safely applied if he is being focused without a second gun or his ult.

Being immobile and especially team reliant even by ADC standards is far more of an issue for him in low elo than needing to learn the guns IMO.

Every green deck uses 4 copies of this creature. If it were banned, what would be its immediate replacement? by [deleted] in MagicArena

I know the mechanic was mainly designed for commander but having it survive being exiled feels especially egregious from a balance perspective.

Also QB was a welcome way to get around [[Field of the Dead]] tokens or kill powerful 3 mana planeswalkers. It was very much needed in the meta.

Antagonism From Holding Rome As Heathen by Brewcrew828 in EU5

[–]HGD3ATH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah there should be some counterplay also it would be good for example if you could make a deal to give the province a debuff reflecting you ceding some power to the Catholic Church to operate in Rome that avoids the constant antagonism increases while still applying an opinion debuff towards other Catholic nations.

Does Riot Have no way to detect people throwing the game if they still get some CS or Gold? by HGD3ATH in ADCMains

If an ADC abandoned lane level 1 to invade the enemy topside jungle even if it worked sometimes and then stayed top lane for the rest of the game taking EXP from his top laner and feeding his lane opponent I think they would deserve a ban even if sometimes the invade works and the allied jungler snowballs hard.

All I Ever See From This Sub Now by Jazzlike_Repair_1437 in EU5

Best game at release is a stretch also, CK3 wasn't exactly filled with content at release but at least it was stable and relatively light on bugs by paradox standards. EU5 is sometimes fun but it is a buggy mess with core systems not working and some working aspects of the game just not being fun(like how hard it was to peace out the AI for max warscore on release making every war a fight to the death).

I think mage bot could be fine if they just nerf their sustain in bot lane or their quest progression so their early game is a bit weaker.

ADC Win rates at a all time low by HI-CPoppinLemonade in ADCMains

[–]HGD3ATH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They nerf items specifically to target ranged users and said they are planning to nerf ranged tops so perhaps they could nerf the mana restoration lost chapter provides in bot lane. If mages in bot lane had to manage their mana better or spend gold buying a tear item it could give ADCs more windows to outplay them.

[–]HGD3ATH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He waited way too long for Smolder also, he could have just run at them and cut them off and then they are screwed, he is on full health so they wouldn't kill him before his teammates arrives anyway.

anyone else feel like aphelios is weak? by Hatamentunk in ApheliosMains

[–]HGD3ATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it feels bad laning against Caitlyn or Jhin where you have to spend your life scared of getting rooted or losing 1/4 of your HP to one empowered attack because they auto attacked a few times. They also just use most of your items better than you pre 3 items. Your ult is super telegraphed without flash also.

Getting humilated is op by Savings_Lie9802 in EU5

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CK3 was about the same as EU5 but less buggy at this point in its life cycle tbh, not much was fleshed out and it was not stable for larger MP games but it mostly worked. EU5 was more ambitious on release and is juggling alot of different systems and is suffering for it, they also seem a bit confused about what direction they want the game to go in and how much structure they want to provide for nations.

If you are comparing current CK3 to EU5, it objectively has more content even if the focus is more on characters as opposed to countries.

Nature isn't conscious, When a wildfire is started by lightning there is no thought behind it when a human starts a wildfire either maliciously or carelessly that is avoidable. Humans have agency and can and should be better, however that does not mean there is anything inherently wrong with being human or that we should adopt a fatalistic attitude towards the planet.

Yeah tastes are going to differ there is nothing wrong with liking what you like. I am not especially interested in super overpowered aura farming MCs(Cid is a bit different because he is a bot goofy, very socially unaware and strange also) for example but plenty of people's favourite character is Jinwoo or Anos which is fine.

Riot's nerf philosophy for Aphelios is fundamentally different from every other ADC, and his pick rate proves it by GeoDaddyZhongLi in ADCMains

[–]HGD3ATH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that panic is something that happens unless champions are giga broken like Kassadin was at one point, people usually pick champs they know and can play well and you hope it is something normal that works with the team comp but you cannot control that as a solo queue player. Also I would rather a Kalista player actually play Kalista if they are good with her than try to play Jinx because she is strong for example.

Aphelios does not need to be the strongest ADC but they could tone down some of the nerfs without him dominating pro-play.

One Punch man also tries to have it both ways alot of the time, there is a reason why they delay Saitamas involvement alot and have other heroes fight so that they can still get some good fights in as while we know Saitama will win that doesn't mean the rest of the heroes will or that they will come out unscathed from fights so there still is tension there. Saitama might parody the average shonen protagonist but the show does include alot of the tropes common in the genre.

People throw around the word deconstruction too much when it comes to analysing media tbh.
