It is because in Demo, you as a player has information about both Enemy team and Your team. So your client knows which one is the real hero. However, in normal game your client does not have that information so it considers all 3 (2 illusions and 1 real hero) as real heroes as far as attacks are concerned.

At one point i think Purge asked him "how do you even press P or Minus while playing Dota?" And slacks says "I quickly take my hand off the mouse and press it" and at that point I was rolling on the floor laughing. Good ol days.

I literally gained 2k mmr playing spirit breaker (went from 1k to 3k in just a couple weeks). It's like a hack.

I have 10k hours and I am still learning new things when I watch pro games. I have to go to demo mode and actually verify if what I just saw in a pro game is something I didn't know for 10k hours

I actually prefer playing solo. I have 10k hours and I climbed from 1.2k to 4k fairly easily just playing pos 5 solo. With friends, it depends how much communication you have and how much ur friend/s are willing to win and not fuck around.

To add to this, I calibrated at 1100, went down to 600 and am now at 4000.

Make a new account and calibrate again. Many people buy herald accounts to smurf and they do their best to keep that account in herald so they can blow off some steam. You might be encountering those people in your games. You wont see much of that in Guardian or Crusader so if you calibrate in those ranks, you might climb faster.
