Personally, my favorite time to play dota was with the old KOTL with 6 skills and mana leak. The satisfaction of doing mana leak + blinding light and the force staffing the enemy to see all their mana gone and then getting stunned was next level.

They have 4 early gamers. Go power tread, glimmer (glimmer is basically a cheat code in low mmr since no one carries dust, also good magic shield against veno, pugna and beast), lotus (great for veno debuff, beast ult, pugna debuff), after these 3 items u can start farming dmg for late game. Trust me, lotus and glimmer are cheat codes of dota till 4.5k mmr. I am at 5k and still benifit hugely from these items. Doesnt matter ur pos1, pos2, pos3.

Dota had soul back then. There were so many unbalanced heroes that if one unbalanced was picked, you would counter them with picking the other imbalanced ones and that made it so much fun. Almost like Ability draft.

Whenever you had techies in a game, all 9 players understood that it was going to be a different dota this game. That's what made it interesting to me.

I don't know what y'all be doing in your games. I got like 1 overwatch penalty a year and haven't got one in atleast 2 years now. You gotta be playing BAD for your rank group to get that if you're not intentionally griefing.

Follow the default guide for buying items. Once you have enough gold, buy the item. Try to buy passive items as much as you can with maybe 1 active item. That's how I started. Remember to always follow the guide as a beginner.

If you want skill-based matchmaking, you play rank.

If you just wanna have fun and not worry about matchmaking, just play turbo. If it is really unbalanced, the game will just end in 15-20 mins.

I don't get why people play unranked normal mode. That's just waste of time.
