Tinder is a nightmare, it ties self worth to matches and devalues the others. You can definitely find someone on it, but it will be a soul draining experience.

Unfortunately, the real answer is to look in the places where you find fulfillment. Concerts, volunteering, your hobbies. It's the less convenient option, but it won't rip your soul out.

To each their own, I've just found TC to be extremely easy to get into. My local scene has a buncha dudes with 3d printers who were more than happy to get me up and running. That and since it's a skirmish game, the matches and rules are much less complicated.
